Swallow Barn

Swallow Barn is a lovely cottage tucked away in a small hamlet but in a good position for exploring the Peak District.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage,

I stayed for 3 nights with my dog and it was a really lovely break.

From the moment I opened the door and being met with a beautiful fresh clean smell, to all the home comforts, fresh clean linens and a lovely touch of a pint of milk ready in the fridge. There were books, activities and lots of useful information on local walks. The kitchen was well kitted out and the bathroom was stylish and clean. The WiFi was easy to access, there were DVDs and a stereo. However none of this was overwhelming and the cottage felt spacious. We had a lovely break and would love to go back in the future.

Lovely cottage.

Ideal for 2 people and a dog! Lots of local dog friendly walks and some start near the cottage so no driving. Cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend and will hopefully be going back.

A comfortable well designed small cottage.

Very clean. A toaster would be helpful as there is not really room to stand at the grill when in use. The listed bbq was not there so we bought small one. We were only there 3 nights so the lack of a freezer didn't bother us but it might be a problem for longer stays.

Swallow barn is a lovely comfortable cottage in beautiful peaceful surroundings.

It's location is convenient for walkers and all the other attractions in the area. It was very clean and everything you may need was catered for. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Very clean lovely cottage in a good location near to Bakewell and the monsal trail.

Kitchen well equipped but it would have been good to have a toaster. Would definately stay again.

The cottage was ideal for a getaway in the Derbyshire Peak District.

The cottage is an ideal base and is on a working farm . Whilst small ,it has everything to suit a couple . We walked from the cottage directly and were immediately into wonderful open countryside. The cottage is dog friendly . It's ideal for peace and quiet.

Lovely compact cottage in a quiet location.

Exactly as described on the Website and ideal for a solo traveller. Only booked for a four night break on morning of arrival thank you for making this possible. Would certainly like to stay again.

My dog and I had a lovely peaceful new year in swallow barn escaping the fireworks at home.

The cottage had everything you need for good break and some great walks from the doorstep or a short drive away. We did the Monsal Trail from Millers Dale in both directions, as well as Pooles Caverns in Buxton. The only criticisms I have are that it could do with a hosepipe for washing down a muddy dog (I managed with a pan) and I found the oven/microwave awkward to use although I am extra short so it probably wouldn’t bother most people

Ideal property for a couple , good living appliances for self catering.

Central to main attractions of that part of Derbyshire.

The accommodation was perfect for a couple and the situation was magic

Excellent location and hosts, view from lounge was superb, really nice to be halfway between Bakewell andBuxton and very close to Millers Dale.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable,everything you could possibly need.

Electrical appliances were easy to use and very efficient. Beds comfy and warm, heating very good on cold evenings. Position was good easy access to the A6. Nice walks for the dog.

I enjoyed my stay at Swallow barn.

It was just as advertised. It had everything I needed and the field for my dog to run in was a bonus.

We had a brief, very enjoyable visit.

This place was ideal for us. The walks immediately out the door were just right, leading to the River Wye and Monsal Trail. I borrowed a stick for walking, which did prove very much needed. One could be stocked for others, in future. I brought with me an Explorer map 24 which was helpful. This, too, could prove handy for others. Google maps was useful but our batteries ran out so a map is needed unless you know tge area. The Tibbles were helpful and friendly.

It was one of the most relaxing holidays we've had with wonderful, helpful hosts - thank you Amber! We couldn't have asked for more - accomodation was very clean and comfortable and relaxing. Perfectly situated in the wonderful Derbyshire countryside within easy access to Bakewell and Buxton. We fully intend to return for another lovely holiday. Thank you.

Not especially dog friendly but otherwise a remote but very accessible cottage in a peaceful location with walks from the doorstep, including the Monsal Trail.

The accommodation is well equipped & furnished, cosy & comfortable for 2 guests. But the rear courtyard is tiny and not ideal for dogs' needs, whilst there isn't an enclosed area immediately to the front of the property so it doesn't lend itself to dogs wandering freely. Only other issues were both in the shower room, where neither the extractor fan or bathroom mirror light worked, but not a big deal. Overall good VFM and even better if you don't have a dog with you

Perfect for the two of us and our dog. Lots of information on local walks, attractions etc. Really good location so we could get to places easily and the barn itself was lovely. Very relaxing stay, thank you!

The cottage was very well equipped and location was very good great for outdoors pursuits and midway between Buxton and Bakewell.

Comfortable accommodation. Convenient for several local attractions. Welcome pack on arrival. Owner was very friendly and welcoming.

A very cosy and well situated cottage in the heart of walking country.

Handy for Bakewell, Buxton, Ashford and Tideswell. Tina and Paul made us feel very welcome once again, our second visit to the property and our puppy enjoyed the stay every bit as much as us.

Tina was really helpful and on hand when needed , my husband forgot his key so was very grateful they were close by to use there spare key. Would highly recommend.
