What a delightful property to spend our holiday in !

It lived right up to the description on the web site , and more , with every little detail thought through to give us a true home from home ! The standard of the property from fixtures and fittings to general cleanliness were first class , something not always found in the many 5 * holiday rentals we’ve spent time previously . In addition to the condition of the property , was the location. It is right in the centre of Ludlow , yet amazingly quiet , in fact the only noise we heard was the glorious sound of the nearby church bells ringing out ; even this ceased at a respectful time of the evening to ensure a solid night’s sleep before exploring the town and local villages the following morning ! Well done to Helena ; she has managed to achieve that often elusive special ingredient for a first class holiday rental; a beautifully presented , remarkably clean ,yet cosy, and welcoming home from home !

A very good location to enjoy all the immediate facilities of Ludlow within less than two minutes walk.

As we were driving a Motability vehicle we didn't use the car lift, and instead regularly used the nearest blue badge parking just around the corner ( even closer !) moving overnight to the free car park after 6.00pm. Not a problem. The house has everything one needs although one of the doubler bedrooms feels a bit cramped, and would benefit from a cleverer style of storage like 'top boxes' The house also needs a wall-mounted coat rack downstairs for wet weather drying of anoraks etc. The tumble-drier did NOT work. A hassle for us with 3 adults with special needs in the 5 person group who create more washing than usual. A full list of the possible eateries in the town with useful remarks and candid reviews would help unfamiliar visitors make an informed choice. We went to the PIzza restaurant on Quality Square on the strength of on-line reviews, (which was over-rated) and as a result we felt ripped off! Would have welcomed some guidance 'in-house' as to what represents best value.

A beautifully presented house, and secure with a lift to an underground car park which we found to be easy to operate.

The property is conveniently located just off the Castle Square with all the beauty and facilities of this lovely Market town close to hand. Helena is an effective and very helpful host and we would certainly recommend the property to those who wish to enjoy a stay in Ludlow.

The Stokesay offers that rare combination of a 5* vibe as well as allowing a dog to stay.

Well equipped, with high quality towels and bedlinen, at one and the same time the house is immaculate but also warm and welcoming. All five of us (four humans and one canine) loved our time there, it's so quiet and peaceful in the immediate area and yet right in the middle of town and everything that lovely Ludlow has to offer. We have agreed that we'd be delighted to meet up there again in a year's time for another family reunion weekend.

We had a lovely break in Ludlow.

The house was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and tidy. The welcome treats were lovely and much appreciated too. All the essentials were at the house which meant we didn’t need to bring our own things like washing liquid or kitchen roll etc There was even tea, coffee and teabags. Although right in the town centre the small development was very quiet and peaceful which meant we slept very well. The underground parking space was also a bonus and easy to use as we were sent instructions from Helena as well as recommendations of places to eat around the town. Would love to return some time.

I just spent a week staying at The Stokesey with my sons and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The house is immaculately clean, very comfortable and particularly well equipped. Its town centre location is perfect as it is easy to walk everywhere. The secure underground parking is a real bonus. It was easy to use the car lift, particularly as the owner, Helena, sent us a very clear video explaining how to use it a few days before we arrived. Communication with Helena was great and she could not have been more helpful. We explored the surrounding area following the Black and White Houses Trail. This 37 mile drive took us on a tour of lots of very pretty villages. We also enjoyed Hay on Wye which is a must for all book lovers. Ludlow has lots of lovely places to eat and drink and we particularly enjoyed the newly restored Castle Lounge and The Wheatsheaf. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Stokesay to anyone visiting Ludlow or the surrounding area. We are definitely hoping to revisit soon. Thanks Helena for a lovely stay.

Our third stay at the Stokesay as it is ideal for a relaxing family holiday.

The house is spotless, warm and comfortable. The central location is ideal for enjoying Ludlow but is also quite and peaceful. The underground parking is a real bonus too. Thoroughly recommended.

Another great stay in this fabulous 'home from home'.

The Stokesay is a spacious, yet cosy and warm, house right in the heart of the beautiful town of Ludlow. It's set back from the main streets in a very small, quiet, gated development. The quality and design of the house and furnishings are 'top notch'. Well equipped kitchen; comfy lounge area and bedrooms; and parking. Plenty of cafes; restaurants; pubs and independent shops to choose from in the town - along with good local transport links. We used trains and buses to travel to Hereford; Shrewsbury and Cardiff whilst we were there. A couple of thoughtful welcome treats on our arrival too. Thank you. We'll certainly return.

The Stokesay is a lovely property right in the centre of Ludlow.

It was very comfortable, a real home from home. We were really impressed by the owner as she was so helpful. The TV picture was unwatchable and she came round to the house to check. On realising it was broken she bought a new TV and came around the next day to set it up. We will be staying there again.

Based upon our impression of the overall standard of the property, it certainly made the stay an absolute delight.

A modern house is set within a small ‘Mews type’ development of similar style properties incorporating attractive facades sympathetic to the Ludlow period building charm.Although it is conveniently located close to the vibrant Town Centre, it retains an air of peace and tranquility. An added bonus is the novel underground allocated parking as well as the secured gated access to the Mews. The house was spotlessly clean and the whole interior design of the kitchen, lounge and bedrooms shouted quality soft furnishings and thoughtful modern accessories. It is obvious that the Owner has strived to ensure that cleanliness, comfort and convenience for guests is priority and in our opinion the standards achieved were unsurpassed. Ludlow is an interesting Town steeped in history and can boast an abundance of independent shops / outdoor markets together with ample pubs/ restaurants to satisfy all discerning tastes. A thoroughly enjoyable break and we would have no hesitation in rating this property a 5*.

Bright welcoming modern house in very central location.

Well equipped spacious kitchen/dinner, comfy lounge & bedrooms. Very quiet inside & in the courtyard, despite being just off a busy road. Access arrangements were straightforward, although didn't use garage so can't comment on that feature. Would be happy to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at The Stokesay.

The property is very clean and comfortable and in such a good location, it’s right in the centre of town yet totally peaceful. The underground parking is great! There’s lots to see and do in Ludlow itself, loads of great walks from the door but also it’s a perfect hub to explore the surrounding area. We will definitely be back! Thank you

Great stay in lovely Ludlow.

The property was excellent, very comfortable and so convenient being in a central location. Very peaceful and quiet. Excellent communication with owner. Parking included was a real bonus. We would not hesitate to stay again.

The Stokesay is a lovely, modern holiday home right in the heart of the wonderful town of Ludlow.

Even though some of the main streets are just a minute or two away, the house is set behind them, in a small, pleasant, gated area. It's very quiet - bliss. It's tastefully decorated and feels warm and cosy. Large well-equipped kitchen, comfy bed and sofas. A couple of treats to welcome us too - which is always a nice touch. An abundance of cafes, restaurants and pubs. We enjoyed river walks and all the interesting buildings. Train station is only a few minutes walk from the house - quite a few day trip destinations to choose from if you want to leave the car behind (e.g. Shrewsbury, Hereford and Cardiff). Thank you for a great stay Helena. We loved it and will certainly return.

The Stokesay is a fabulous holiday property with a thoughtful and attentive owner.

Very modern, clean, warm and comfortable. A week of luxury. The central location is perfect for exploring all Ludlow has to offer with the added bonus of an underground car park - a real plus for Ludlow. The location is also quiet and peaceful despite being in the middle of town. We were reluctant to leave.

Stayed at the Stokesay for 6 nights.

1st Dec - 6 Dec. Easy walking distance for all Ludlow has to offer. Lovely clean, warm house, with all you need. The kitchen has everything. The car lift was no problem, so car was safe and protected from weather. We had a lovely friendly and helpful welcome from Helena. Many Thanks. Bill and Val

Wow - We LOVED our stay at the Stokesay.

Everything was amazing. From the bed, the facilities (kitchen had everything we needed and more), the generous welcome pack, shower pressure and cleanliness. The location in beautiful Ludlow couldn't be bettered. Even the neighbors were lovely. We were sad to leave and can't wait to return. A special shout out to our wonderful host Helena. Exceptional service - genuine, helpful and kind. Thank you so much. We were very sad to leave.

STUNNING PROPERTY.

Couldn't fault it. Everything was to a high standard, 2 minute walk into the centre of town. The owner HELENA was only a phone call away if you needed her. Underground car park was great. Would highly recommend this property. Will definitely return.

We had a fabulous holiday staying at The Stokesay.

The house is super warm, clean, comfortable and stylish. The central location is so convenient for the town and the underground parking space is a real plus. You can park and forget about your car. We only used ours twice during our stay. Steeple Mews is also very quiet and peaceful despite being right in the middle of town. The only sound we heard was the delightful church bells and clock. Helena was very helpful in guiding us through the car lift and a great host. We can't wait to come back to stay again!

This is our second visit to The Stokesay for a two week break.

It is our go to property when visiting Ludlow. Not only is the house of exceptional standard but it is located in the heart of Ludlow with dedicated parking on site. It is dog friendly too! Highly recommend and thank you again for a great stay.

We had a week in Ludlow at The Stokesay in Nov 23 and the cottage was fantastically well equipped & clean in a superb town centre location.

Whilst at first I was a little worried about the underground parking it was extremely simple to use and you would never hear anyone using it, what a fantastic way to park in the centre !! Helena is a fabulous host and kept us well informed prior to the arrival and ensured we were comfy & happy once we arrived. I couldn’t recommend this cottage enough in such a beautiful location, markets, walks, pretty local villages all on the doorstep. Thankyou for the welcome gift, much appreciated. This property is in a superb location right in the historic heart of Ludlow.

Within 2 minutes you can reach Ludlow Castle, markets, shops and pretty Tudor buildings and yet the property is in a quiet lane for a restful nights sleep. The property is showhome clean and showhome presented with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds are good quality and mattresses fully supportive. Perhaps a few too many ornaments as we moved some to give us a little more surface space and replaced them in position at end of week. We were glad we took indoor slippers as the carpet is light beige. Our week was very wet so we put some bin bags on the floor by the front door so we could get inside quickly before removing muddy wet boots and clothes - however the ground floor is ceramic tile so easy to brush up dust and wipe down. There is also a washer/dryer if you need it. The underground garage is spacious and the car lift instructions clear. The entry turn is a bit tight. If you have any concerns the owner is very helpful and can suggest alternatives. We were very comfortable in this property and enjoyed our stay immensely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Stokesay.

It was beautifully decorated, hotel standard beds and fabulous kitchen. The location was right in the heart of Ludlow allowing you to walk into town and out to Whitcliffe Common or Mortimers Forest which was very useful, if you are dog owners like us. The car parking was a big plus too. The bottle of wine and chocolates were very thoughtful and I would highly recommend this house for a stay in Ludlow and to explore the wonders of Shropshire.

The accommodation had everything we needed and was so comfortable. Also very convenient for shops, market etc.

The property was fantastic in the to most amazing location.

Beds were soooo comfy and kitchen well equipped, especially if you want to cook up a meal from one of the local shops. Everything on your door step. Ludlow has plenty of good walks and fine eateries. Can't fault any about our holiday. Great time had by all, especially Freddie our dog.
