Manor House

Fantastic property for large family with disability access.

Everything was provided at the property like fans for hot day, disability toilet seat, even though we bought our own. Kitchen was stocked with utensils and essentials. Access to the property was easy too with the step by step instructions provided by Skyes cottages... would definitely recommend to others ...

We had a fantastic time at Manor House.

The size of the property enabled us to meet together as a whole family. Our grandchildren loved the outside space with the climbing frame, swings and play house, and the location was brilliant with places to visit and groceries only a short drive away. The property was well equipped with everything we needed for our family break together.

Family weekend away, loved it, beautiful house, huge garden, a few minor downsides like machine in gym didn't work and some of the rooms were bare, but that didnt ruin our stay at all.

Hifhly recommended

A lovely, spacious home and well equipped with everything you need.

We were a party of 10; 5 adults, 5 children aged 14 to 1 and they all loved the place. Lots of space and set in a great location; the children loved paying on the climbing frame and the adults loved the hot tub. Plenty of space in the house for relaxing and a great location for the Peak District. I would have no hesitation in recommending this house and would be very happy to stay here again the next time we are visiting the area. A great house for our family Easter holiday.

The Manor House was beautiful.

Well equipped and fabulous for a get together with friends. The only thing that would have made it better for us would have been if it had 5 en suites rather than 3 as 2 couples drew the short straw and had to leave rooms for showers / toilets etc . I drew one short straw and it was a little hard for my husband who has early onset dementia so was a little confused during the night and got disorientated as all the room doors look the same. Perhaps numbers or names on the bedrooms doors would help as it’s easy to wander in to the wrong room but apart from that it was amazing!!!!!!

My family came with us to the Manor and we all loved it!

! Spacious, beautifully appointed, lots of kitchen equipment and crockery. Everything about this house was perfect from the hot tub to the children’s play area. Quiet peaceful area with a stunning park about 10 mins away. In fact we stayed at the house the whole weekend chilling and relaxing. Would definitely recommend it and will return. Outstanding!!!!!

Be great to have a pool table

As a group of 10 including a young child and someone with mobility issues, the property was perfect.

Had everything we needed and was beautiful set out. Thanks so much, we had a lovely weekend.

The Manor was wonderful and had everything we needed for our family celebrations.

Two bottles of prosecco and chocolates were a treat. Good friendly advice and information from Rhiannon was appreciated.

Perfect for our pre Christmas family gettogether.

Everything you could wish for in this extremely well equipped house. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone

Amazing house with everything you can think of.

We were a group of 10 women that go away every year and this is by far the best place we have been to. We would highly recommend. The hot tub was perfect temperature as was the house with a log burner as extra heat if needed making it so cosy. We are definitely booking again for next year and hopefully many years to come. Perfect place.

Wow- this place was just perfect for our girly weekend get away.

We were a group of burnt out nurses/mums who trained together 20 years ago and we had a lovely weekend of celebrating one of our 40th birthday’s! The bungalow was perfect and there was plenty of room, it is huge! We definitely made use of hot tub! Would highly recommend ❤️ .

A luxury and well equipped property and very spacious.

Almost faultless - the soap dispensers in some of the ensuite rooms had been watered down - lazy cleaners we assumed.

Such a beautiful property, situated in a fabulous location.

We had a family get-together, and everyone was wowed. Great spaces for cooking, eating, socialising, and sleeping. The hot tub was used daily.

Absolutely amazing property, the pictures online do not do it justice.

It’s a huge house with beautiful grounds. We were ladies celebrating a 50th birthday and we had enough space to have a dance floor in the hall during our 70s disco night. The kitchen was huge with seating for 10 round the table and the dining room was just off the kitchen again with seating for 10. Hot tub was a bonus too. There are local walks directly from the drive of the property, and the pub is around 5-7 minute walk. Cannot recommend the Manor House enough.

A lovely property to get away from life's stresses and relax.

It is full of facilities which were great for our grown up family and grand-children. Despite having the feeling of being in the middle of “no-where” its also only 10 minutes from shops and take aways.

What a fabulous house you have.

We absolutely loved staying here if only we had a full week a long weekend not long enough. My granddaughters (age 1.5 & 2.5) absolutely loved the freedom of all the space to run around and the garden facilities also. The rooms are very spacious and kitchen facilities were great. We enjoyed using the BBQ aswell. The gym was used and enjoyed chilling in the hot tub admiring the views. We had great weather so bifold doors always open. We like to take the girls through the electric gate to see the cows. It was lovely and quiet. My mum enjoyed her surprise 80th birthday there with all the family and it was just the perfect weekend. Will definitely recommend your home. Thank you for our welcome gift too chocolates and 2 bottles of wine. I love these little touches when you stay in a nice property that you organise for your party makes it worth while. They were consumed the first night. Would love to come back as we loved the area and the pub is within walking distance too. Thank you, Nikki

What a wonderful place, with 10 of us sharing this beautiful home, we never felt restricted, the rooms were big and airy, and the corridor was wider than a lot of hotels I have visited!

The house felt luxurious, a definite wow factor when entering, and the garden was wonderful for our 3 boys to run around and play in. The gate made it secure, and we could relax knowing the 2yr old couldn't wander off. It was quiet and rural, but a short ride and we were on the main road to all the places we wanted to visit, so for us it was ideally situated. Thanks for a great stay!

Dear Andy, thanks so much for giving us the best holiday we've ever had.

The property was beyond all our expectations with no negativities at all! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay and thanks Andy for being so accommodating to us! Steve thanks for your help at all times! King Regards Your guests on Aug!

All in all a great getaway.

Loveley property and lovely location. Very spacious and lovely bedrooms. Would highly recomment it. Loved everything being on the same level. Received lots of information from instructions book and notes left on the property. Some small negatives: Upon arrival, the freezer door was open. It took a full 24 hours for the fridge and freezer to cool down with food in it. There was also water on the kitchen floor from the melted ice. - I would assume this is from the cleaners not closing it. Some of the skylights didn't open. The rubber seal on the large sliding living room door was broken at oen end, so it was difficult to close once fully opened. Kitchen cupboards and fridges were a bit dirty upon arrival. So that could use a deep clean.

Perfect property to celebrate an 80th birthday.

Ages ranged from. 13-80 & we all loved it. Lovely setting, beautiful, well appointed properyu

A lovely house and grounds, which was perfect for our family get together.

The hot tub was a big hit with our grandchildren!

We really liked the house and it was great for our family.

However we found the watered down soap and washing up liquid rather penny pinching. There washing up liquid was not adequate and ran out and we had to use the soap to wash up. Also two bin liners was not adequate. Overall it was good but slightly spoilt by these things

A beautiful property in a good location to explore the Peak District, the view was stunning.

We were a group of 6 ladies and had plenty of space and really enjoyed having the hot tub ready on arrival. Very easy check in and out, well equipped kitchen and everything you need to enjoy your stay. One minor issue would be the outside area hadn't been cleaned when we arrived so had to clean the table and chairs ourselves which we wouldn't have expected but we would definitely return.

Family get together - mid point for all concerned.

Could not have picked a better place, and will probably return. Just one very minor criticism - duvet covers on single beds were a bit on the small side, kept slipping off the bed.

This is an absolutely fabulous house with great amenities in a good location.

We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children . Unfortunately on arrival the house hadn’t been cleaned. This was quickly addressed and we waited outside but sadly there were still quite a few issues with cleanliness . When you are paying for a luxury stay everything should be almost perfect as I’m sure the owner would want . Attention to detail is missing both inside ( as already stated to Sykes ) and outside on the patio areas and the garden flower beds . More general maintenance required to keep the property looking fresh and cared for . That said we all loved being at the house and we would book again . Thank you to the owner who very kindly compensated us for the cleaning delay .

We had a lovely weekend break as a group of 10 ladies.

Beautifully appointed bedrooms and lots of bathroom space(essential for 10 of us!!). The hot tub was an absolute hit with all of us and proved to be a great place for relaxation. We had plenty of space for various craft activities during our stay and for chilling in the evening. When we got home some of the party discovered that we had left behind some belongings, but, a quick phone call to the host and they were returned within 24 hours. All in all a great stay.

Had a fabulous stay in April.

It’s a super property exactly as described. So much space for everyone and it’s got lots space outside to sit and relax and for children to play. It’s close to the Peak District and close to a village with all the amenities you might need. If I was being very picky I would say the beds are a little firm. We will be back!

The Manor House is a fantastic place for a family get together.

We loved the fact it was all on one floor, so we were always together. The whole house is well equipped to a really high standard. The outdoor space, like the house itself, is brilliant, well kept and spacious. Great to have the children's play area and the hot tub. We had an issue with the hot water, it was sorted within an hour - you could not ask for more.

We had a fabulous time, loved the fact that everything is on one level, as we had young children in our party.

Everyone enjoyed their stay & we would definitely come back. The gym, although a great addition, was a concern with the children & would benefit from being able to lock.

The property was exceptional and much larger than we expected.

It was had pretty much everything you could need to enable to enjoy the stay quickly. One of the sofas isn’t comfortable to sit on especially as we had some older people with us but there were other sofas to use that were ok.

Lovely spacious property well equipped and ideal for family gatherings.

Two bottles of Prosecco and a box of chocolates were a lovely surprise waiting for us. In lovely grounds with a pub The Three Cottages a short walk away. We really enjoyed the hot tub too.

This property is fantastic and probably a little bit undersold on the pictures and description.

The house is lovely, has great facilities and was a fantastic size for a group of 10 girls - we had a great weekend. The only slight issue we had was we came away as a group of 10 and the hot tub is a big part of why we rent certain houses and it’s simply not big enough for the amount of people The house holds which was a shame! :(

We really enjoyed our weekend in the Manor house.

All the bedrooms were good size and the kitchen was well equipped to our needs. The hot tub was lovely, we struggled getting it warm initially but the owner was on hand to give the correct instructions to get it going.

A really incredible property perfect for hosting a large get together for young families.

An accurate listing of the facilities would provide even better knowledge pre-arrival - eg, we were delighted to find 2 ovens and 2 kettles which made catering for 8-10 people so much easier.

The Manor House has very spacious rooms and living accommodation, all is decorated to a very nice standard. Outside space is extensive, easy to park 6 cars, our 3 year old loved the swings/ slide and play house. Hot tub was well used by the adults. Everywhere was clean and easy to keep so.

Beautiful place to stay and relax.

Had everything you need for a family gathering which included a baby and toddler . Plenty of indoor space with a fantastic kitchen and dining area or relaxing in the living room . The outside space and views were amazing ,plenty of room for children to run around and a hot tub to relax in.

The cottage was the perfect place to celebrate my 70th birthday.

It was a beautiful house with lovely gardens and had everything we could possibly have needed , including shower seats which were really helpful for my husband who had mobility problems. We were a mixed group from aged 5 to 85 but there was something to keep everybody happy. I would definitely recommend this property .

Fabulous property with lots of space for children.

Kitchen is well equipped and you have a choice of 4 bathrooms. Hot tub is great and very clean. Great area to explore and this is a perfect base for a large group. Perfect.

We were four generations staying here, during which we celebrated an 89th birthday.

The accommodation is spread over one level with easy access for a Mobilty walker through the front entrance and rear patio door. The hot tub was well used. There is an excellent pub, the Three Cottages within walking distance. I would say that the photographs do not do justice to the Manor House. It is nicer than they would suggest. Thank you to the owners who left well appreciated gifts.

Property well furnished and maintained.

Doors and corridors wide enough to take a wheelchair or rollator. Extra facilities - gym and hot-tub appreciated by some members of our party. Electronically controlled gate ensures privacy. I would definitely recommend this as a holiday home.

Overall we had a great stay at Manor House.

the house is a lovely size and the new hot tub was great! The grounds around the property are also beautiful. Unfortunately, the property wasn’t as clean as we’d hoped when we arrived, we had to wipe all of the surfaces down, brush crumbs off the sofa and hoover the living room.

Great property, lots of space, fabulous kitchen, beautifully maintained and very warm.

We would highly recommend.

We were a party of 4 couples aged late 60's - 70's some less mobile than others.

The Manor house was perfect for us. The seating and beds were extremely comfortable. The professional chef in our party was very impressed with the kitchen and all it's utensils. We had only been there 3 days when we booked again for next year.

If I could give 4.

5 I would have , the reason for losing marks on cleanness - cobwebs - which we removed , windows we cleaned them in the kitchen , A full loaded dishwasher that had to be emptied and it was really stacked - I don’t expect to have to do that and the bbq was disgraceful , green furry mould on the grill .clearly this has not been looked at for ages so can’t blame the previous guests. Another couple of things the internal jacuzzi had not been cleaned when it was switched on it covered the children in black slime we had the clean it ourselves , finally there was a leak in the bathroom near the utility from the toilet , we reported it and service was excellent repaired same day . All of that aside this would be a 5!star property , quality of the fixtures and fittings are great , well Stocked kitchen with utensils, plates, glasses and cutlery . Masses of space for families or friends not to fairly on top of each other . Ample parking , massive outdoor space with the immaculate hot tub and children’s play area . We would book property again as I’m sure the points I’ve feedback on will be acted on seeing how well they dealt with the leak . Overall loved this property , location and feel of the place - it has the wow factor from the moment you drive along the road to it , it is stunning ! You won’t be disappointed booking a holiday here .

We had a great time here.

We were a family of 10 ranging from 2-65. It had enough space for all of us and plenty of bathrooms. It’s in a lovely area, beautiful views and close to a small town. We got a food order delivered no problems when we arrived. The house and kitchen were well equipped. The only thing we found to be missing was a whisk and a clothes horse. Neither were a major issue. As we stayed in winter drying some clothes were hard without a clothes horse. The gym and hot tub were a great addition to the house. The kids loved the space inside and out. The play area was perfect for the two 5 year olds. A few things that need maintenance: - The door from the gym to outside doesn’t unlock. - There were cobwebs everywhere, every room floor and ceilings. A good clean all over would be useful. - Some of the glasses are so thin cleaning them they just split. The thicker champagne flutes were better and will prevent less breakages. - Maybe some local walking routes if you know any added to the book. - One of the double beds is really soft, and it dips at the edges, so hard for 2 adults to sleep in it comfortably. We loved our stay, we are fairly local but would definitely stay here again with a large group. Perfect for a family or friends get together.

We greatly enjoyed our stay - a perfect location to get the family together for a belated Christmas celebration.

The Manor House is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and furnished to a high standard. The hot tub was much appreciated and well-used! We would certainly stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a larger property in a rural location

We had a fabulous family Christmas at Manor House.

Plenty of space, fabulous kitchen, spacious lounge and we really enjoyed the hot tub (morning, noon and night)! Was great for our elderly relatives and would be idea for any wheelchair users too. Close to Bakewell and Chatsworth for trips out, lots of shops and supermarkets nearby for supplies too. The house had been decorated up for Christmas and one small maintenance issue was dealt with swiftly and kindly. Would highly recommend and we hope to return again.

Overall a fantastic stay with the family.

It was a joint special birthday and Xmas get-together and the place was great. Very roomy and overall pretty clean. Some areas are looking a little worn such as some wear and stains in carpets and bathroom areas but overall very nice. Highly recommended and would stay again.

Absolutely fantastic property.

The addition of the hot tub just topped it. ! Perfect for family gathering where everyone can be comfortable and have there own space.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the property and we love staying here as it’s perfect for our family gathering.

The children (aged 4-9) love the space and the garden. The hot tub is a great addition! The owner was very helpful with our extra requests. We’ll definitely be booking again.

This property is even more beautiful than on the website photos.

It’s so spacious, our grandchildren throughly enjoyed running the length of the huge corridor and had a great time exploring the garden too. The adult members enjoyed the gym facilities too. Definitely, a super place to visit with an extended family. The underfloor heating meant the house was very warm despite its size, at times a bit too warm as it seemed wasteful to open the windows and doors but this was the only way to bring down the temperature.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

So impressed by the property. All our family loved it although a ten o clock check out was a bit too early for eight people plus a baby.

Absolutely stunning house loved our week here so much space for the 6 adults and 3 children would absolutely recommend this house for any large groups.

The owner rang us to make sure that the house was up to standard and adding a hot tub later in the year will be a definite bonus. We had the most amazing time also meeting up with family who live around there.

The owners need to spend money on the property.

It is showing signs of age, the mat by door is worn out, warming drawer is not working, dishwasher tray wheels missing, bench cover ripped, pendant light in kitchen appears to be hanging from it's wires, treadmill not working unable to open door from gym, bathroom for two bedrooms lock needs adjusting, mixture of colours in pendant lights in 4 of the bedrooms, master en-suite doors to patio locked and no keys, surely the hot water problem could be solved with a cylinder in the cupboard in the bedroom! We booked this property to take our family away for our golden wedding anniversary! It is nearing breaking the trades description.

We had a lovely week with the family staying in The Manor House.

What a fabulous property! It is well equipped, beautifully appointed and very clean. There was everything we needed for a week away together, to relax and enjoy spending time together. Also, close to local amenities and attractions, which makes it ideal for a mix of relaxation and taking days out

Firstly can I say that the property met our needs to have a family holiday with our 3 children their partners and 2 grandchildren.

The space was great! and the weather helped. It's proximity to the Derbyshire Dales and Chatsworth House (gardens are amazing) was a real benefit. The beds were comfortable and the fans provided helped during the hot weather. We had no problems with bathrooms etc. BBQ was awesome! I would like to make some minor comments for the owner just around some 'tiredness' to certain aspects that could be resolved at minimal cost. (1) The swing and play slide needs some attention - it was fine for our 4 yr old and 2 yr old, but was creaking with an 8 yr old. Some remedial repairs are needed before it falls apart. (2) The TV speakers were 'blown' I suspect they have been played at high level in the past and been damaged they are fine at lower volume levels but are distorted at higher volumes. I would recommend a new modern "smarter" TV with a sound system that also has bluetooth connectivity for playing music. (3) Gym was great, treadmill fine for walking paces but sounded like the bearings were falling to pieces at running speeds with someone on . Suggest a bit of maintenance required (might just need greasing)! (4) Provide an indoor airer a stand up rack would do or a ceiling mounted rack. The tumble drier was fine but an airer is more eco-friendly and would save you some pennies in the long run. (5) Very minor but the master bedroom (which my wide and I used) only has a double bed in it. The room is huge and looks like it originally had a king size in it (from socket layout) Suggest put a king size bed in! (6) Finally we vacuumed during the week. Initially the supplied Dyson vacuum was useless and had no suction. Luckily I am an engineer and like a challenge. During the week we washed and dried both filters in the vacuum (Should be done every 3 months) after which the vacuum was fine (your welcome!). (7) Some cleaning products might be helpful - we bought our own kitchen degreaser and anti-bac for our stay but if you want to hit the "luxury" tag then perhaps provide something. (8) Garden is amazing find someone who likes gardening and let them have a go at the beds they could be stunning. (9) I would remove/sell the greenhouse. It is not being used, is a bit of an eyesore and is potentially dangerous for young children. Get yourself some cash for it! (10) We bought reclining garden chairs with us. Perhaps provide 4 reclining chairs or 4 sun loungers for the huge patio area! Again hit that "luxury" tag I hope the above is taken in the right way! None of the above really adversely impacted our stay "the house did the job" but if you want to 'hit the nail' then I politely suggest you consider the above all of which are not costly ticket items and these did cross our minds during the week!

Excellent accommodation.

Fully equipped. Clean. Ample space. Ideally place for a family get together for a birthday celebration. Weather all week was fab, so made full use of patio and eating outside. Didn't use the gym! Great base with very nice golf course only 5 mins away, Pottery Bee 5 mins, Hardwick Hall 15 mins, Bakewell 25 mins, Crich Tram museum 25 mins.

The property is superb, spacious, very well equipped, luxurious and ideal for our family get together.

excellent accomdation

This is our 2nd stay here again excellent accommodation perfect for all our needs!

The property and grounds were amazing.

My family and I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend and such a lovely place to celebrate my special birthday. The welcome gifts were a lovely touch and much appreciated. I would highly recommend Manor House to anyone.

Had amazing time at this place.

Would highly recommend it to anyone.

This property is amazing the furnishing and the setting of the house are gorgeous .

Also the owner is so obliging and great service.

This is a gorgeous property in a great location.

Overall the cottage was as per our last visit, however we think that the cleaning was not up to scratch, especially the kitchen and lounge where there was a lot of dust and cobwebs both on the floor and ceiling, several toilet seats need attention.

The kitchen could do with more equipment especially mixing bowls and scales. More glass tumblers would also be good. That said we had another great stay our 3rd and will be looking to book again.

As two families totalling 10 people, we needed large accommodation and Manor House was perfect.

It was spacious, clean, very well presented and had everything we needed. Good location for access to the Peaks and shops nearby for topping up food stocks. Asda driver found the property with no problem for a food delivery. The kitchen was well equipped, especially as we did eat in every night. The only point we would make is, we felt the football table may have been better placed in a different area of the house, our children are aged between 14 and 6 so it was difficult if the teenagers wanted to play football and the younger ones wanted to watch a film. We would definitely stay at Manor House again and highly recommend.

Fantastic space for our family.

Bungalow was perfect for our little one to run around with no stairs All of the rooms and living areas were generous. We'll be back!

This was our third time at The Manor House.

We are a family group of five couples and having 5 separate bathrooms is perfect for us. There’s also a dining table big enough to seat us all for evening meals. Our only comment is that the house is always far too hot. We had to open all the windows in order to get it to a comfortable temperature as the control panels didn’t appear to work. Otherwise it’s a great house for a group of people.

We booked The Manor House because one of our party is disabled and we needed to be on one level.

We found the Manor House very well equipped for our needs but also for children - it's spacious, private and secure with a large garden - it would be an excellent venue for a gathering of family or friends or both.

We had a wonderful family get together at Manor House and would certainly return again if the opportunity arose.

The accommodation is very spacious and with 10 of us staying there (6 adults and 4 children aged 4-16) we by no means felt on top of each other. The grounds are also fantastic with plenty of space for playing and relaxing outdoors. The house is very well equipped. The only things we felt were lacking were some kitchen scales and a few more pegs for hanging out washing. All in all, we had a very comfortable stay here and would highly recommend this holiday home.

We had a lovely stay at the Manor House.

It was perfectly suited to the various needs of different members of our party. It was very easy for a grandparent who had mobility issues, as there were no steps or uneven surfaces. The open plan bathrooms also made it easy for showering. The beds were all very comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The outside seating was a pleasure to relax in, with views over the fields. Would definitely recommend, especially to those with mobility issues.

We found that the exterior of the property no to be particularly child friendly.

Here's why..... There's an empty glass greenhouse to the side which is very dangerous should the children have run in to it. lots of stinging nettles & brambles close to the wendy house and the play equipment. On another note, with the amount paid to hire the property it is the first time we have ever had to strip the bed linen from all the beds and collect all the towels ready for the cleaners..... surely that's what they get paid for!!

The Manor House was a great space for our multi- generational group of ten.

Our four grand children aged between 5 and 10 yrs old had lots of fun playing in the house and beautifully kept, safe grounds. The table football in the lounge was also a big hit. The house was generally clean and well equipped with comfy beds and pristine linens and ideal for a large group like ours. However as it was our "home" for the week I did clean the worst of the marks off the kitchen cabinet fronts and lounge carpet, which took minutes. I agree with the previous review that the house especially the carpets, kitchen and patio furniture need a good clean and minor repairs completed like the torn bench seat in the kitchen. worn toilet set (underside ) in the first bedroom, dripping tap in the master en-suite bath and very stiff catches on the bedroom doors. Despite the above I would recommend the house especially for a large group as we had a thoroughly enjoyable week, loved the space in the house and there are good local amenities, pub, chip shop, park and shops a few minutes away. The house is also an ideal base for exploring the Peak District and popular attractions are a short distance away. This lovely house just needs a little bit of extra care and attention to bring it back up to it former five star rating.

Very spacious and clean throughout.

Everything we needed, especially the shower chair , which was extremely helpful, thank you.

The property was beautiful, with adequate space for 10 people who could comfortably live together without feeling on top of each other.

I felt the property was clean, but could do with a deep clean. I appreciate in a property of this size, a deep clean is not possible in the 6 hour turnaround time, however I do feel this is needed. Its small things, the bathrooms were clean, but a lot of cobwebs and spiders in the corners. The kitchen sinks could do with a good bleach, and the carpets looked like they would benefit from a shampoo. Lastly, some additional pegs for hanging washing would be fab. The toilet in the bathroom in the utility area wouldnt flush, my husband being a plumber managed to flush it and avoid embarrasment for the relative using it, but just a heads up that this would need attended to. Overall we had a fantastic time and wouldnt hesitate to stay again.

The Manor house looked big from the photos of it and, in actual fact, even bigger in real life.

It was enormous, thoroughly modern and well-equipped. We were met with chocolates, prosecco and flowers upon arrival, and this thoughtfulness said much about the owners and the quality that they had imbued the Manor House with. It was such a lovely place to stay and just oozed class. Seven of us stayed and there was more than enough room for us to have some privacy when we wanted it and some party space when we wanted that too. Incredibly the property had five bathrooms, each one spacious and luxurious. I have stayed in many cottages and cannot recall any with space and luxury that the Manor House provided. What a great place to stay, and near to the beautiful Peak District. I recommend the cottage highly. Classy, excellent value for money, and considerate and unobtrusive owners.

We were a multi age group and totally welcomed the various aspects of the facility which allowed all to enjoy.

Whether on one level (no stairs) for the very young, outdoor play equpment / large grounds for the slighly older and a lovely kitchen and lounge for the more mature!. Kitchen / dining room and utilities need special mention as double oven very helpful for large number catering.. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely property, very spacious and well appointed.

it was ideal for our family holiday with three families including three children aged 4 to 7. We came here 5 years ago and wondered whether the quality might have dropped in that time but it had not. We had a wonderful week there and would not hesitate to go back.

The property was absolutely amazing and I would not have any hesitation in booking this property again.

The photos do not do justice to the size, scale and quality of this property and the thrill of entering through electric gates! It is in a secluded position but also very close to some excellent local amenities and a great starting point for trips into the Peak District. The size of the property and extensive grounds means even when at full capacity everyone has their own space and it does not feel cramped - as previously commented the photos do not give you the true scale of this property. Thank for making our stay wonderful.

Manor House is a very modern and luxurious house just on the outskirts of Chesterfield, and is an ideal base for a large group to explore the Peak District and surrounding areas.

The house itself is very spacious with all amenities provided. The place is well looked after and has a classy feel to it. There is parking for 4/5 cars easily, and the house is just remote enough to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside and walks. We definitely recommend Manor House, and we will certainly return when we next visit the Peak District.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Manor House and already eager to return!

6 adults, 2 adult teenagers, 1 child and an infant could not have wanted for anything at this amazing property. The inside is so spacious and the outside great for kicking a ball around according to our 3 year old! We were very lucky with the weather this weekend and enjoyed sitting outside, loved how peaceful and private it was. The property was immaculately clean, very well equipped and within easy access of shops. We made contact with the owner prior to arrival who was very helpful. The only suggestion i would have made was leave instructions about how to turn the heating down, although cosy it was stifling, particularly overnight, we were in the room with french doors and for security were reluctant to leave open overnight. I would also say the beds are small doubles which for a short stay we could put up with but at 5ft 8 my feet were off the end of the bed, never asked those in our party who were 6ft and above. Overall, a fabulous property that caters for all ages that we would highly recommend.

What a great house!

The entrance is striking in it's proportions and height. The kitchen is superb for entertaining with a cosy circular table. The bedrooms are all of a very good size with five ample bathrooms. The lounge has a lovely aspect across the countryside. The only downside was it was too warm, we had to open the windows to cool down. We'll book again.

Some sort of way to play music would be great

We stayed here over New year week and what a fantastic property.

Set back within its own grounds so very quiet, and the house itself if massive and very well equipped for a large group stay. The kitchen and bedrooms we really spacious most were en-suite and spotlessly clean when we arrived. The kids also loved the huge garden. Chesterfield is just gown the road too. The local pub the three cottages was only 10 minutes walk too! It served lovely food and was friendly too!! Will definitely be back to stay here again

Booked for a pre family Christmas get together.

The house was perfect for this. Huge house with a well stocked kitchen which made Christmas dinner for 10 a doddle. The house was very comfortable and lovely and warm. Thank you for a great stay and lovely welcome gifts

We had a fabulous weekend at the Manor House, it is a top quality house with plenty of room and amenities.

Overall the cleanliness was very good except that both of the oven/grills were in need of a clean (disgusting), this was a real shame as everything else was spotless and in a self catering property I expect better. Mr Steven Pitt

Wonderful accommodation Great access to tourist sights.

The two double rooms would be so much better with king size beds.

A jacuzzi would be a perfect addition.

Only comment we would have is that the two guest rooms with the double beds felt to our friends that they were small doubles instead of normal doubles.

This was only highlighted because both of our friends partners are over 6 ft in height. Other than that the whole stay was great.

The noise from the adjacent A class road was noticeable in the garden.

Within the house the noise was much reduced.

This property is stunning.

The grounds are beautiful and it is well maintained. Perfect for a group getaway or a family break.

The house was amazing for our family of 8, ranging from 18 months to 54 years.

Beautiful position, excellent facilities. We would highly recommend it and would love to return. Couldn’t fault a thing.

The accommodation and facilities are just superb.

Wonderful to sit in the grounds and enjoy the wildlife (rabbits, hares and many birds while we were there)

That’s the second time we went here and we just felt so amazing being there.

We look forward to booking it again as it’s just fabulous !

Excellent location and massive house with all amenities needed for a perfect break.

Amazing location ! We ve booked already another break !

Would recommend the manor house to all was just amazing

This home was set in open countryside with a beautiful landscape garden.

The play area with a wendy house and climbing frame with slide shute was a huge hit with my 3 year old granddaughter. The kitchen is very well appointed with a breakfast area. There is also the added facility of a dining room. This was a special celebration for us and the accommodation was perfect .

Wow!

What can I say! This property is amazing and we knew it was big but it was HUGE! Beautifully furnished and super clean when we arrived. So much space for us all and with 4 kids and 4 adults that was just what we wanted. We were 2 families with children ages 2-9 and they had a lot of freedom around the outside of the property which was very safe and secure. They spent many an hr roaming the perimeter of the property in the gardens and playing on the children’s equipment. The kitchen was where we enjoyed lots of family meals and again all fully equipped to a high standard. Within short drives was plenty to do and we truly enjoyed our week in the Manor House and fully intend to return.....The owner was very quick to respond to an inquiry before hand and was very accommodating. 5 stars and some!

Covenient location easy to get to from M1 and close to many of the attractions of the Derbyshire Dales.

Immaculately clean on arrival. A great property for family gatherings.

My group of friends were all very pleased with the size, facilities and quality of the accommodation.

We all enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend.

We had a lovely Early Christmas family weekend in your fabulous house.

So much space, Yet warm and cosy, it was perfect. Thank you

Manor House was home to us ( 4 couples) for 4 nights on our annual pre christmas getaway.

It was a very cold, frosty early December weekend but the house was beautifully warm at all times. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and plenty of storage and the best equiped kitchen we have had in 10 years of these holidays. We enjoyed the log burner during the evenings. We visited Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall and Kedleston House during our time in Derbyshire and enjoyed a lovely pub lunch in Clay Cross (The Three Horseshoes). The traffic noise might be an issue in summer months but we couldnt hear any when indoors. We wouldn't hesitate to book this lovely house again.

We felt that the house was very bare - no pictures and very little subdued lighting, so therefore not homely.

Otherwise it suited our purpose very well although not easy to find, as most of us were coming from the North of England. Two lots of directions would be really helpful.

Lack of Toilet Rolls - we had to buy some Alarm didn’t work properly Internet needs to be improved Toilet flushes need fixing Toilet brushes filthy - same comment I made two years ago No mirror on dressing table - found it broken in cupboard needs fixing Some interior doors difficult to open Some interior doors did not lock properly These are only minor points nothing spoiled an otherwise very enjoyable holiday.

Such a beautiful bungalow with everything you need. Thank you.

The house was excellent and was just right for 9 of us.

Plenty of room and very private with a lovely garden all round. Perfect location for days out in the Peak District. Unfortunately, apart from the master suite, the bedrooms and bathrooms were let down by the fact that there were no surfaces to put anything on. There were no dressing tables, no bathroom shelves etc. so nowhere to stand toiletries, make up, or any other items. A full length mirror, somewhere in the house, would also have been helpful.

We had a fantastic time with our friends.

The house was enormous so we had plenty of room. We had everything we needed and there was only 2 things that could improve it. One is it could do with maybe a hot tub! And the second is the WiFi could do with improving. When we tried to get onto it it wasn’t possible even when just one person tried. Very intermittent signal. Could do with boosters. Other than that it was perfect. Definitely would use this house again.

Unbelievable house-even more spacious than it looked online!

Had everything we could have needed! Playset in the garden a huge plus as we came with kids and there is also a hut which they really enjoyed! Loads to do in the area! Would def reconsider booking again!

Perfect family holiday everything we expected and more

Fantastic stay every cottage wee have rented have never let us down thanks again look forward to the next booking

Coming through the gates we were amazed at the outside of the property.

Inside was just the same. Nine of us had a wonderful time here.

Fantastic quiet location lovely house everything you need for a relaxing break

Celebrated my husband's 60th birthday, family from Yorkshire and Norfolk joined up here.

Truly an amazing place plenty of room very clean and comfortable everything to excellent standards. Would not hesitate to book again.

Manor House is huge!

We had plenty of space for our family of ten, with very comfortable bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms and great accessibility for a wheelchair user. The kitchen is very user friendly with space for us all to enjoy preparing and eating family meals. In fact we never used the dining room as the kitchen was so easy with our wide range of family. There was plenty of room in the lounge and the children enjoyed having so much space in the house. The gym area was appreciated but the garden was a massive bonus. The play area looks well used, but was well used again by our children. The massive space was terrific for our Easter egg hunt. Views from the garden are very pretty but the immediate area is not particularly appealing. However access to places we wanted to visit was absolutely fine. We all struggled to find the house initially and definitely needed electronic help. Maybe slightly more detailed directions would be useful.

What an amazing place!

Plenty of space for all the family and a large enclosed garden for the children. Had a brilliant birthday weekend. Would definitely book again. The weekend was finished off by a fall of snow on the Sunday morning.

This house is enormous!

It potentially has 6 bedrooms as we put the baby cot in the study. And it is very comfortable although the temperature of the heating is not easily controlled so we were very hot at times but the owners responded very quickly to our request to reduce it a bit. Great garden and play equipment for children. Good location for visiting the area.

The Manor House is a fantastic property and thoroughly exceeded our expectations.

Often properties that accommodate large groups fail to provide enough seating in the sitting room and dining areas. We were 5 couples and enjoyed having a bathroom per couple so no waiting around when getting ready to go out. The house is heated via underfloor heating which is very warm (often we had to open the windows). The kitchen area is very well equipped and again a large round table seats 10. We couldn’t have improved the accommodation in any way and have already decided that we’d like to return next year.

We had a wonderful weekend break with the family despite the weather.

The house was perfect for our needs and was great for our two year old grandson to use the space and not get under everybody's feet. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to make much use of the large garden but we did make an apple pudding from some of the windfalls! A couple of suggestions : The two white frying pans did not work on the induction hob so are essentially useless, however the other pans were great and diverse. A knife sharpener would be useful. We also suggest you update the photo of the front of the house as it now looks more attractive with the more mature garden. Hopefully we pretty much left the house as we found it.

The cottage far exceeded our expectation.

The grandchildren had the run of the house and the garden. They didn't have time to become bored, the play house and the play frame kept them entertained throughout the week. Seeing the hares visiting us in the mornings was wonderful, for the children to see such lovely animals outside of a zoo excited them. We would holiday there in a heartbeat.

The only negative we could find was, we were a party of 10 and the dining table was only big enough for 8 to sit and eat comfortably .

2 of us ate in the kitchen no problem. Everything else was 5 star , we will be back .

What a house ideal location for exploring the area I know they recommend a local pub but if you can eat at the Devonshire arms it’s about another 1 mile up the road but well worth the trip.

The only thing the house needs is a swimming pool or jacuzzi

Perfect luxurious house for our annual 3 generation holiday.

Loads of room for the 10 of us with beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Sadly the weather meant we could not make the most of the enormous garden, but it was perfect for our Easter Sunday egg hunt. Thoroughly enjoyed Bolsover Castle, Chatsworth House, Heights of Abraham and Bakewell. 5 year old birthday boy loved his special day at Gulliver’s Kingdom!

Large comfortable bungalow in a good situation.

Had two design faults the dining room was too small for the size of the bungalow and the hot water cistern was in the garage at the extreme end of the bungalow and there were difficulties in getting hot water to some of the bedrooms.

An excellently appointed property.

Very safe for young children & superb grounds to play in. Close to many walking areas - 5 Pits Trail was particularly good.

The property was amazing and great value for money.

Lots of friendly helpful communication before hand - thanks!

This is a beautiful property in a stunning location.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend.

We selected this property as it was central to our family members and provided the accommodation we needed for a family celebration of 2 birthdays during our stay.

The location was ideal and provided us with the opportunity to enjoy the delights of the area, in particular Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bakewell at a less frenetic time of the year, especially as the venues were putting on Christmas events. The fact that the grounds were large meant that the grandchildren could enjoy a safe runaround and they thoroughly enjoyed being able to make snowmen due to the snowfall on the Saturday night (not only the grandchildren it must be added). The accommodation was very spacious and at no stage did we feel on top of each other with the added bonus that there was no queuing or waiting for a bathroom. There were a couple of very small issues which we reported to the owners but those issues did not affect the overall satisfaction with the property and its facilities. Mr and Mrs Southall

A lovely big house.

Well presented, well equipped though a teapot would have been nice as we are British after all. Overall, we loved it and were very pleased with what we picked

The property was large and secluded but convenient for daily car excursions.

Really enjoyed Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle, the Monsal Trail (bikes) and Heights of Abraham.

Brilliant spacious property for family gatherings of all ages .

well equipped for self catering and excellent for the disabled. This is our forth visit and would recommend the location and the property,

Excellent secure property with everything you need.

However, I do think the 'handyman' needs to pay a visit, several light bulbs not working and his mobile number 'not available' when the fridge freezer decided to pack in!

Great house for a big group due to space.

Really well equipped and high quality finish. Photos do not do the house justice.

A stunning property.

The property was superb, but a pity all the bedrooms did not have en-suite facilities.

The rest of the property was of such a high standard it was strange not to have them. That being said it was a wonderful stay.

The cottage was beautiful in every way.

However, there were no two pin plugs anywhere for shavers and toothbrushes. It would be nice to inform people of this as we had to go out and find an adapter.

We had a fantastic time - really enjoyed the property and the owner was fantastic too at sorting any minor issues we had.

Definitely would re-book and indeed just have today for next year for another Derbyshire wedding !

The size and quality of the house were outstanding.

We booked the house for a family reunion for my parents and my 3 siblings and spouses and we all enjoyed the house. Each couple were very pleased with their rooms and we all were impressed with the kitchen, dining room and lounge which could all accommodate the 10 of us. The gym was a very welcome bonus. We will definitely consider booking the house again.
