Head outside to the garden offering the ideal spot to soak up the tranquillity of the surroundings and take part in some al fresco dining.

Excellent setting, private and quiet despite the nearby road immediately behind.
The steep drive entrance is intimidating at first but okay with care, winter weather would affect this so if necessary two cars could be parked at the entrance to the drive with steps to the lodge terrace. The hot tub was good for September and regularly checked while we were there. The accomodation was spacious and comfortable. The railings around the raised terrace were not completely dog proof and disappointed us as it was necessary to always supervise our pets outdoors. This was the only bad point. The close woodland walks from the hotel were extensive and dog safe only downside the hotel drive is uphill so we preferred to drive to the hotel car park a couple of minutes away and walk from the hotel. The property was clean and well equipped and a nice welcome package of bread,milk, butter, biscuits, coffee and tea. Note the only downstairs cloakroom doubles as the downstairs bedroom en suite but this was okay for us.
The location, service and amenities were great.
The house could do with some tlc to fix a few maintenance issues and the electrics needs some work. Half the lights switches don't do anything and the way the living room is lit makes no sense
First impression was fab but it wasn't cleaned properly, there was ladybirds in every room and lots of them.
Lights outside didn't work, maintenance came round but never came back to fix them. Bath robes were tatty and holey. The plates and cups were all scratched and marked
