What guests are saying
We enjoyed a 2 night break in the cottage with our 2 grown up sons and one of their girlfriends.
We loved the cottage which was an old cottage with charactor and lovely homely feel, just what we were expecting. Beautiful area and surroundings for walking and exploring. Cottage was lovely and clean and had everything you needed for your stay. Plenty of bottled water provided. Thank you.
Unique location,wonderful view
Whilst in a beautiful location, unfortunately the condition and cleanliness of the property on our arrival were extremely disappointing and fell well below what we would expect from a holiday rental.
The property had not been cleaned or prepared for our arrival. The beds had not been made, there was dirty bedding left on one of the beds and food waste had been left in the kitchen. More generally, the property was dusty, with cobwebs, patches of mould, mould-smelling cupboards and considerable ingrained dirt. The bathroom in particular was in an unhygienic condition. We were also subsequently told that the water from the property's private supply was not safe to drink, and bottled water had to be provided. There were also maintenance issues, including a cold-water tap in the bath that did not work and an unusual arrangement for the hot water requiring the immersion heater to be switched on for two-hour intervals only. We contacted the owner shortly after arrival and, although bed linen was brought later that evening, we had already been waiting several hours and had to make the beds ourselves. It is a real shame because the setting is genuinely lovely, with the sea and mountain views being a particular highlight. However, the cleanliness and general state of the property need significant attention before I could recommend it to other guests. Beautiful location and views, but unfortunately the standard of cleanliness and maintenance during our stay let the property down considerably.
