Lon Cottage

Lon Cottage is a perfect holiday cottage, peaceful and quiet.

All the bedrooms are very spacious, especially the massive master bedroom downstairs. It has all the equipment you are likely to need, even the vacuum cleaner was the best we have encountered in a holiday house. The location is also perfect with views across the countryside. I recommend the walk you can do from the doorstep. Go to the end of the road and across it and carry on to the River Tay, turn right and you can walk to Caputh. Return by the same route or by the lovely village of Spittalfield with it's rows of cottages around the village green. We received a very generous welcome pack with Prosecco! which set us up for the week ahead.

Superb Accommodation !

! A really nice cottage with plenty of space. Can highly recommend it to others. A very warm welcome from the host who made sure everything was fine for our stay.

We had a very lovely comfortable stay in the Lon Cottage, our rooms were big with comfortable beds and the house was well furbished and had everything we needed.

It was a bonus having our own ensuites and the outdoor fenced space was great for our dogs. The surrounding area was lovely to wake up too, and the local Deer made a appearance which was a lovely sight. We had the best weather for our stay, and I will recommend this Lon Cottage to my friends. One suggestion to customers is that if they have big dogs, I would check the height of the outdoor fenced area. I know some big dogs would have got over the height of this fence. Our dogs loved the outdoor area, its a added bonus to have that fenced in space. My Sister, friend, and I with our 3 dogs had the best time away to recharge and see a different part of Scotland. Thank you to the owners, it is a fabulous place to stay in. Thank you, and we will be back. Gigliola McKelvie Cherubini.

Loved our stay.

Very welcoming friendly owner. A lovely welcome pack. Extremely comfy beds.

A very clean and spacious property.

Everything you need for a relaxing stay including a welcome pack. The owner was there to greet us and make us feel welcome. It has all the home comforts you could need. Perfect for us and for my dog as well. It made a great base for exploring the area. I would happily recommend it and will definitely return in the future.

First class accommodation in a lovely setting.

Owner was very easy to deal with and extremely helpful. This is our second visit to Lon Cottage and we will most definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing find and what a joy to stay there.

Beautiful location, ridiculously spacious (meant in a good way!!), spotless and everything you could need in a home away from home. The owner, Ailene, is just lovely. We sadly lost our eldest fur baby whilst up there and she helped with vet recommendations and they were also amazing. She also checked in after the event. Bittersweet, but we will absolutely be going back, and often.

Wonderful week in wonderful accommodation in a stunning location.

Our hosts were wonderful and always approachable. Loved the collection of rare breeds around the cottage. A great place to stay and we will look to be back.

House was fantastic.

Clean comfortable. All amenities we need. Would definitely recommend.

Just returned from a fabulous stay at lon cottage.

It’s in a beautiful rural location but only a ten minute drive into Blairgowrie where I picked up supplies. My grandson loved petting the donkeys and goats which are onsite. The house is home from home and fully equipped with everything you could need. There’s lots of space inside and out, the beds are comfortable and big! There was a huge field we could walk the dog in the morning and it’s very accessible to some fabulous walks like the hermitage. Ailene is a very caring, kind host who clearly wants her guests to enjoy their time at her property. She left a thoughtful welcome pack including a bottle of Prosecco. And when I phoned to say I’d left a bag of belongings she immediately offered to post them back to me. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

This holiday cottage exceeded all expectations with the facilities of an ensuite for each bedroom to the size and design of the cottage it was fantastic.

On top of an amazing cottage the owners were by far the best we've ever stayed for as they were more than accommodating for the needs of our son who broke his leg before coming and our dog needed to be left alone for one. You could clearly see they are animal lovers as they had designated area and well equipped kennels. The owners and neighbours were amazing with our dog and he was the happiest he's been while away with us. Seeing the amazingly rare animals and being able to experience the love that they give their animals first hand it was just outstanding in everyway.

Thank you for a wonderful cottage and surroundings.

Thoroughly recommend to any who would like a restful holiday with plenty to see and explore. Very welcoming.

This is our 5th visit to Lon Cottage.

Ailene is wonderful always available if you need anything. The animals are great. Cottage is always immaculate and the house is ideally located for trips to some of the most beautiful areas of Perthshire. We will be back love this area . Jim & Margaret

Absolutely one of the best locations we have stayed at.

Lon cottage is set on a small holding and you can see all the animals, goats, wallabies, meerkats, alpacas and donkeys! It is very spacious and it has everything you need for a great holiday. Close enough to Perth if you feel the need to shop but also some excellent walks and beaches nearby, Dunkeld has beautiful walks by the river Tay and the cathedral. Excellent stay, welcome pack was very much appreciated. Again thank you for a brilliant stay and we will be back!

Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

The downstairs bedroom was lovely and so too being able to see so many types of rare breeds. Thank you also for the goodies upon arrival, much appreciated! Beautiful part of the world and a good base for exploring the area. Very peaceful!

I would just like to thank Aline for a wonderful stay at Lon Cottage.

Our family had the best time- helped by the weather, but also the beautiful location, great facilities and Aline's warmth and generosity. We all loved spending time with the animals and my daughter was particularly delighted when Aline provided her with brushes to groom the donkeys. I would highly recommend a stay at Lon Cottage- we are already trying to work out when we can come back.

We had a really lovely stay in a well equipped and comfortable house The bonus was all the animals we could see outside ,not every day you meet a wallaby!

we would highly recommend to anyone

Wonderful cottage with everything you need and super friendly host.

Loved our weekend.

Lovely holiday house in idyllic surroundings.

It was very clean and comfortable. All of the animals were lovely and made our stay extra special. Stronger wifi would have been an advantage for teenagers however it was a welcome break for adults. We will definitely be back.

This was another fantastic holiday at Lon Cottage.

Property is immaculate and always kept to a high standard. We had family with us and they loved it. Can't wait till the next time

Wonderful cottage, owners very friendly and helpful, excellent starter pack most appreciated.

Very spacious and comfortable accommodation, in a peaceful location. Would highly recommend.

A Beautiful, very spacious cottage, with lovely views.

We had a fabulous stay. We visited many places , all within a short drive. The cottage was well equipped with everything required. Very modern and spotless. The bedrooms all ensuite with super king beds (or twins) all were lovely and comfortable. We would highly recommend this cottage and will definitely visit again. Thank you to the host for providing tea/coffee and milk on arrival and some lovely, well received, treats.

We were so impressed when we walked through the door .

It had the wow factor. We were made so welcome.Words don’t really give the true experience of how wonderful it was.The scenery and the area were perfect. It was faultless and would love to stay again . I would recommend anyone to stay .

Couldn't fault this property.

Very quiet rural property but near to amenities too. Owner provides list of places to visit which is very helpful.

Had a lovely stay, can’t recommend Lon Cottage enough

Such a lovely few days spent at Lon Cottage.

Aileen was lovely, and showed us round the animals - there were plenty! The cottage was just perfect, so spacious and peaceful. Added bonus of being able to have the door open so the dogs could come and go, onto the fenced patio area.

What a gem of a place.

The accommodation is spacious, clean and overlooking beautiful countryside. Ailene and her husband were wonderful hosts, spending lots of time showing us their many animals (inc alpacas, Pygmy goats, donkeys, reindeer and wallabies). A fantastic family holiday

This is our second time staying and it still doesn't disappoint.

We had such an amazing week. Owners are brilliant and made us feel very welcome. Also central to lots of what Scotland has to offer. We spent one day skiing, one day at the beach, one day at the loch, one day shopping, and some time exploring and on the farm. I love it.

Lovely spacey cottage in a good location.

Friendly and helpful hosts. Would definitely recommend. We are hoping to return at sometime in the future for a summer break.

The only thing that I would suggest is to pit a gate access the stairs in prevent dogs from going up

This was one of the best self catering properties we have stayed in.

Clean, comfortable and very well provisioned. The owner very quickly responded to any messages or questions we sent.

Lon Cottage is lovely - it feels quite remote but is within an easy drive of Blairgowrie and Dunkeld.

Ailene was very helpful particularly given the amount of rain that fell just before we were due to arrive. We all enjoyed our stay. Norman.

Lon Cottage was beautiful, very clean, and the open plan layout was great, I couldn't get the cooker ovens to work, even after reading the instructions, however i wasn't planning on cooking, only wanted to keep breakfast warmed while waiting for the rest stuff to cook, but not a deal breaker, the kitchen was well stocked with everything that was needed.

The rooms were huge, the ground floor bedroom was cavernous, the bed a superking, it was comfortableish, a little hard for me but i did sleep, the location of Lon cottage was second to none, perfect, ideal for visiting the area, very quiet, very dark on an evening, so i would advise taking a torch for later in the year, if taking furry friends out for last walk. The menagerie that was on the land were lovely, the pgymy goats very friendley as were the Donkeys(husbands Fav's) the albino walaby was an unexpected delight. Ailene was lovely, came to tell us that the electric would be off on Tuesday from 9-5ish, which was really nice of her, as we were going out it didn't bother us, we got back about 4pm and electric came back on about 5.30ish, so just relaxed with magazines and crosswords. all in all a fab 4 nights stay, would love to go back

Clean, spacious, comfortable cottage.

From stepping through the door we knew we had arrived in a very relaxing environment, the cottage was tastefully decorated & you had everything you needed.

The setting was so peaceful & Ailene kindly made time in her busy schedule to take us round the farm to meet the animals which was a great bonus. The cottage is situated a few miles from Blairgowrie, which is an ideal location to reach many of Scotlands treasures. A brilliant experience, thank you.

This was third time staying here.

Excellent accommodation. Area is very peaceful and relaxing. Will see you again next year.

We loved our stay at Lon Cottage.

It is perfect for families and in an excellent location for exploring. Thanks for having us!

Excellent property very comfortable with everything you need for a perfect stay.

Ailene and Stuart very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely property in a great location.

Highly recommended and hope to visit again.

We were totally amazed by the property.

We usually holiday with our caravan so this is the 1st time we have used a cottage. From us first entering the cottage we were very surprised how nice it was. It was very spacious, clean, well equipped with everything we needed for our stay plus a bit more. The cottage was very warm and comfortable. There was ample information about what was expected of us during our stay and lots of information about the local area. Ailene was very happy, friendly and very helpful and enjoyable to talk to.

Lovely cottage, well equipped with lots of space.

The owner was very nice always there for us if we hade any questions. Nice welcome package! Everything just perfect! We will be back!

This was a beautiful property and although there was only 2 of us there would’ve been ample room and more for 6.

The owners were very welcoming and provided a lovely welcoming pack. We had a tour of the farm which was amazing with wallabies alpacas donkeys and goats. This holiday let would be suitable for all age ranges although a car is a necessity.

Made to feel so welcome and comfortable with relaxing and beautiful surroundings.

We loved our stay! All animals are so loved and lovely.totally wheelchair/disabled friendly with plenty of space with child play area outside too!

What a gem.

Lovely cottage, in an rural location for exploring Perthshire. Very well equipped and comfortable. The owners are onsite if they are needed. We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be back.

The property was well equipped, very clean and the owners gave a warm welcome making us feel comfortable with our dogs.

Amazing accommodation.

So much space and well equipped. The location is beautiful. Would highly recommend as a great place to explore whilst staying in luxury.

Property is excellent well equipped.

Owner on hand if required. This is our second trip and have never been disappointed. See you next year

We had a brilliant couple of days escaping the hustle of Christmas.

Cottage is very big and very well equipped from kitchen utensils to freeview TV in each room. Secure yard for the dog. Perfectly positioned to explore the cairngorns and central Scotland. Can't reccomend more highly, hosts are warm and friendly and on hand if you need anything

Lovely setting, great facilities and friendly, helpful landlady

We had an amazing week and the cottage was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed.

It was perfect for our 3 furry kids with the secure garden and lots of space for lounging. Quiet location but within minutes walk or drive to some beautiful nature walks and lochs. Blairgowrie is a 5 minute drive away where there is a small town with a Tesco Superstore. Loved having a wee nosey in at the Rare Breed Farm right next door as we were heading out on our walks. Can’t wait to visit again in November.

The welcome from the owners was lovely.

It was in a wonderful setting. Very tranquil. The facilities were brilliant. Truth is that we could have lived there.

Brilliant cottage and hosts.

This is our second visit to the cottage. There is loads of room and everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is also ideal if you have a disabled member in your family with large ground floor bedroom with bathroom and shower en-suite. There are two further bedrooms with en-suite upstairs. It is in a rural area so nice and quiet. We will definitely be staying here again. John & Carol Graham.

A fantastic place to stay for our week's holiday exploring the Scottish countryside.

The cottage was spacious and well stocked with everything that we needed. The owners very kindly left a food and drink welcome pack which was a lovely start to the holiday. We loved seeing the animals on the farm and were really lucky that 2 baby alpacas and a baby miniature goat were born whilst we were there. The local area was a delight to venture out to and we found plenty to see and do and some fantastic restaurants in the local area. A magical stay and we hope to get back there another time.

The cottage and surroundings were amazing!

So relaxing and just what we needed. The open plan rooms were fab for us to enjoy each others company and see the children play together. The location was perfect for exploring as much of that part of Scotland as we could fit into one week! Scotland is so beautiful and we were lucky to have glorious weather too! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Lovely holiday cottage with all the necessary items.

Very clean and comfortable. The owner was lovely and took the time to show our kids all the animals on the farm. Good local facilities.

we had a great holiday the cottage was like home from home and the owner was extremely helpful

Lon Cottage was an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area.

It was clean and spacious and each bedroom had a bathroom with a shower, which was great. The owner was also very generous with her time when showing us her wonderful animals including alpacas, goats and fantastic donkeys. Thanks!

We spent a week in Lon Cottage.

The location is lovely and the farm animals are a great asset if you stay with children. We were disappointed that we didn't have a welcome hamper, we were told it's not allowed due to COVID-19 but we couldn't understand why getting a few essentials for our arrival was a problem. The cottage was lovely however we would say the cleanliness was not to the standard we would expect, especially considering they were supposed to have been deep cleaned. There was a dirty wipe behind the dresser in the main room and an old makeup palette in a basket in one of the bathrooms, there was alot of dust and the coffee table was filthy when we wiped it. In the information for the cottage it mentions WiFi is available but intermittent, WiFi is not available or atleast it wasn't during our stay which was a pain we ended up paying alot for extra data. We checked the WiFi connections and they were not set up correctly we did mention it to the host who advised it was a BT problem. Some of the play equipment was broken and the amount of flies in the cottage was horrendous, they really got to us by the end of the week. If there was better attention paid to cleaning the cottage and the flies dealt with aswell as WiFi fixed (or not advertised as having it) we would have probably booked again as it was perfect for the children.

Lon Cottage is beautiful and well equipped.

The surrounding countryside is lovely and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time.

Loved this cottage, the size of the rooms and the cleanliness, the friendly welcome from the owner.

We loved seeing the Alpaca, donkeys and goats, Would highly recommend.

Lon cottage is a beautiful cottage spotless well equipped comfortable and large everything you need is here .

We have all relaxed so much and then you have llama donkeys rare breed goats and wild life all on your doorstep what more could you ask for . Very close to some beautiful areas for visiting. Aileen is such a welcoming thoughtful and interesting lady and would like to thank her so much for a brilliant time .

The owners had thought of everything meaning we didn’t need to.

It was a home from home in Scotland! Thank you for a splendid week which was enjoyed by our whole party including the dogs.

Beautiful cottage the proprietor was very helpful and kind

Lon Cottage is a beautiful place to have any type of holiday.

Owners are very helpful. We had good weather to start with and asked if there were any loungers - they went out and bought some for us. We weren't expecting that. We took 3 doggies and there was no problem at all. (if you take a dog do watch out for the mucky stream at the lowest part of the field in front of the cottage) 5 star!!

So pleased that we are looking into booking a week later on this year

The property is spacious and comfortable.

Beautifully decorated throughout, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The owners have definitely gone the extra mile to make this a very high spec holiday experience. The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring the beautiful Perthshire countryside.

The cottage is extremely well equipped and is very clean.

The beds were comfortable and the welcome hamper a lovely extra. This was great for my husband, who has severe mobility issues, our 2 year old grandson and our dogs. There are play facilities and walks around the adjoining field gives the opportunity to view the donkeys, the alpacas and the pygmy goats. Lots of things to do within easy access and some excellent places to dine locally.

Everything location and place to stay

the owner was very welcoming - lovely and friendly, left tea/coffee making facilities and a gorgeous hamper to make us feel at home.

beautiful countryside, very quiet and relaxing with nearby town with good facilities for eating out, shopping, etc.

The directions from Perth are ok EXCEPT from Caputh the road is the A 984 not the A 91 no such road around there !

!!

This was a home from home cottage.

The owners had thought of everything. It was amazing.

Beautiful cottage lovely welcome couldn't fault it 5 star.

Would def recommend to family and friends. Brilliant for dogs standard 100% wouldn't know dogs had stayed there so clean.

The property was very well equipped and well situated.

The owner was lovely and available for any queries we had. The cottage was lovely and comfortable. We would definitely book it again if holidaying in the area.

The cottage was perfect for what we required it was spotless clean good furniture comfy beds very good central heating and good showers all in all it was one of the best we have stayed in .

Lovely cottage.

Owners farm animals were an added lovely bonus. Made to feel very welcome. Lovely walks from the door and locally. Good location as a lot of popular destinations are within easy driving reach. All in all really great holiday. Thank you.
