The ground floor features a formal sitting room, perfect for gathering around the fire, sharing stories after a day outdoors, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

From here, step into the separate dining room, where you can gather around the table for hearty meals and lively conversation, all while admiring the quaint and characterful décor.

Furnished in a traditional style, the room includes distinctive touches such as lamps crafted from decommissioned rifles and a cabinet displaying a mannequin in Highland Dress known as Leftenant Mitchell.

Elsewhere in the lodge, guests will find a cabinet of rare stuffed birds, including Capercaillie and Black Grouse, as well as a display of decommissioned rifles, hallmarks of the lodge’s heritage.

The large kitchen, with its lovely flagstone floor and AGA Range cooker, is part of a sociable open-plan space that includes lounge seating and a dining area, along with a wall-mounted TV.

Packed with thoughtful amenities, the kitchen invites you to store treats in the American-style fridge freezer, cool down with a drink from the built-in water cooler, or prepare a feast with ease.

Two additional fridges and freezers in the utility room ensure there’s space for everything, whether you're cooking for a crowd or just enjoying a quiet breakfast.

Just off the kitchen, the garden room offers open views across the garden to the Sma' Glen and hills beyond.

Bathed in natural light, this tranquil spot is perfect for a quiet morning coffee, where you can watch the flurry of garden birds through the large windows, enhanced by a high-quality scope thoughtfully provided for guests.

Outside, a bespoke-built Doocot is home to white pigeons that come and go freely, adding to the charm of the garden, which can also be admired from the sun room and fire pit area.

As evening falls, gather around the firepit with a glass in hand, where a tripod-hanging hot plate lets you griddle or barbecue under the open sky.

Fixed bench seating on either side invites long conversations, while a clear glass windbreak offers shelter from the breeze without interrupting the view.

The surrounding fields are actively farmed with sheep and cattle, adding to the authentic rural setting of this exceptional property.

We had an excellent stay, the accommodation is impressive and fully met the needs of everybody.

It is a functioning house which is shown in some aspects but you do not want a model house where your scared to touch or move arpund The heat around the house was exceptional, no need to increase set temperatures that were set for arrival in fact we had to turn down. . Working light outside the conservatory would be a nice touch, especially in nice evenings as we had. Overall this was a great visit and would highly recommend.

perfect for our group of wide raging ages.

plenty of space for being all together or for splitting for different activities. bedroom and bathrooms all good. we enjoyed table tennis in the dining room, piano recitals in the main living room, football on the grass and rounders on the drive. roads great for cycling. watching the birds, especially on the bird feeders was delightful. red kites too. one highlight was watching the salmon leaping at nearby Buchanty Spout. cooking with the Aga was a joy. all in all an excellent holiday house.

This is a superb property.

It has everything I want in a holiday house for a large group. There is loads of space and different areas for different groups to relax in. The kitchen, with the Aga, is warm, comfortable and well equipped. The furniture is comfortable and in good condition but because it shows a certain amount of wear and tear, one is not worried about putting down cups on tables or having children climbing on the furniture - which they will. The countryside around the property is beautiful with many hiking options. The heating system is a bit idiosyncratic and had not been properly set up when we arrived but the owner/manager was easily contacted and sorted it out over the phone. Despite cold weather including some snow, the whole property was warm and cosy.
