Description
South Cottage is a charming, semi-detached cottage settled within the Fordie Estate, surrounded by the Perthshire countryside.
This property has a traditional interior with rural views, ideal for families and friends who want to experience all that the area can offer.
There is space for two vehicles to park comfortably within the courtyard adjacent to the property, and a large well-kept lawn with rustic outdoor seating which is a great spot to catch sight of our resident red squirrels!
Enter inside and locate the kitchen/diner, equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge with ice-box, full size dishwasher, extending table, and all the kitchen crockery and utensils needed to prepare meals as you wish.
Heading through the property, the sitting room is a lovely setting to unwind in, featuring a large sofa and two plush armchairs.
The room faces out onto the colourful gardens and beautiful views of the Strathearn valley beyond.
The ground floor also offers two spacious bedrooms with fitted storage, a super-king-size and a twin, along with a bathroom with a full-size bath and separate shower room.
The final, double bedroom which has sloping ceilings, is located on the first floor of the property.
The popular village of Comrie, is located just a short drive away, and has a couple of pubs, restaurants, a café and deli, fish & chip bar, and a selection of shops including craft and gift stores, as well as general stores.
Also nearby, is the attractive old market town of Crieff, home to attractions, such as the oldest working Whisky Distillery in Scotland, The Glenturret, which also hosts a Michelin Starred restaurant!
Travelling East to Crieff, you will pass 'Comrie Croft' where you can enjoy mountain biking , bike hire, and other outdoor pursuits.
MacRosty Park is perfect for a scenic picnic and just outside the town is the magnificent Drummond Castle Gardens, which were modelled on the gardens at Versailles!
For a city steeped in history and culture, venture to the city of Perth, hosting a range of museums, art galleries and the gothic Scone Palace to immerse yourself in the past.

We were staying in the South Cottage as a family of 6 adults for a family wedding at nearby Comrie Croft.
The cottage is beautiful, clean and very well maintained. Plenty of parking for 3 cars. We were provided with lots of information before, during and on departure to ensure our stay went smoothly. The bedrooms are very comfortable and towels are provided. 2 bathrooms with lovely hot showers were also good. The kitchen is adequate and has everything you need but a bigger fridge would have been better to store a weekend of food and drinks. Seating at the kitchen table was also a squeeze with 6 adults but we managed. Overall I would highly recommend staying here. Beautiful cottage surrounded by beautiful scenery.
South Fordie cottage is honestly one of the best places we've stayed at .
.we've been here twice now n both times have been really lovely..the people looking after the estate are both lovely folks too..would very much recommend South Fordie Cottage..x
The cottage was cosy and tastefully decorated.
We appreciated the view, the comfy beds and the abundant supply of hot water. It was always warm and welcoming. The bathrooms were large and clean. However we felt the kitchen was a little too small for comfort. We were four adults and a toddler. The fridge was very small and we’d have liked prior knowledge of the freezer in the laundry room. There wasn’t enough crockery to use the dishwasher economically. Despite this we enjoyed our break in this beautiful location and were delighted to see the red squirrels!
