Daisy Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Daisy cottage.

It was perfect for visiting family and seeing the Common Wealth Games. There was an issue with the shower being very hot and the owner was there in minutes to fix it. We would definitely recommend our stay in Moffat. Cosy, comfortable and quaint.

Homely and comfortable traditional cottage in the lovely little town of Moffat.

Great location - just beyond the Well Road shops (so felt very central), but nice and quiet. I've stayed in Moffat before but this was the nicest property and the best value.

The listing should have been more detailed ie.

Decor in small living room is dull and dated, as there is only one small west facing window. The handrail at the top half of the very steep stairs is impossible to get a good grip of. I am 65 and have a ballance issues so coming down them to use the bathroom through the night was scary. I had to buy a she pee. The kitchen/ dining area was nice although the 2 shelves where the plates were kept were sloped so we took the plates off. Bathroom shower hose needs replacing as it is worn. Having said all that the cottage was very clean and the beds super comfortable. With a lick of paint and some maintenance it would have a better review from me.

We enjoyed our stay.

The kitchen was well equipped, and the cottage throughout was well maintained. Locally, there are lots of pubs and restaurants. We particularly liked the Star Hotel; the food was lovely. Most places are dog friendly which was very good. I would note that the listing does not mention that there is no washing machine (there is a laundrette across the road) nor does it mention that there is no outside space or garden at all. Parking is at the front of the property however the street is very narrow. The bath would benefit from a handrail as the bath itself is quite high and there is nothing to hold on to. If you're staying in warmer weather, I'd suggest taking a fan. We did and were glad as the cottage is very warm. Overall a nice stay and the owners are very helpful.

An ideal base for walking The Annandale Way from Moffat via Annandale Head to Newbiebarns.

A fabulous 6 days walking in perfect sunshine! Comfortable, quiet and convenient location, very well placed (easy walking) for the High Street and the Well Street shops. Cottage has all the required facilities, including an excellent dishwasher. A lack of a washing machine was disappointing for a daily walker requiring a change of clothes each day, however adding an extra case to my luggage got round the problem. Cottage could have been cleaner, the stairs definitely needs a shampoo. Neighbour's car, in front of the cottage, unmoved all week, was also slightly irritating! In conclusion, a great stay!

We had a great holiday at Daisy Cottage (3 adults and our dog).

The cottage had everything we needed. Only thing was the double bed sagged down at one side. That said, we all slept well on our 1 week stay. No problem parking on quiet street at front of cottage. We had lovely walks with our dog straight from the door. Perfect location for all the facilities Moffat has to offer. All very dog & people friendly. We all agreed to try book up for Daisy Cottage again soon!

The mattress in the double room is absolutely appalling needs replacing only thing letting a comfortable cottage down

This holiday home is lovely.

I loved the big kitchen and the house is lovely and comfy cosy and in a great location right in the middle of town. The only couple of complaints are pretty minor, there was no spare key as stated in the information book, no bag for the sheets and a tin opener would have been appreciated. Parking was okay and it was lovely and quiet. I would love to go back.

Everything there that you needed. We had our grandson with us so having the highchair, travel cot already there was a huge bonus. Second time my family have stayed there, great wee cottage.

Christmas welcome pack was lovely. Kitchen was superbly equipped and lounge was lovely and cozy. Tv and wi-fi worked fine. If there was one minor suggestion for improvement might be worth looking at the mattresses in the twin room - could do with a topper as a bit lumpy

We absolutely loved how beautiful and cozy Daisy cottage is and wished we had found it before instead of staying at hotels in the village.

The bed and bedding was so comfortable . Myself and my husband slept so well . That he wanted to stay another week . The facillitys suppied was eveything needed .we will definately be booking your cottage again . As we normaly go to moffat twice a year to see my parents .

What a lovely comfortable cosy cottage, we had a lovely stay there is everything you could need.

The bed is very comfortable and warm snuggly bedding. It's only 2 minutes walk to the town centre of Moffat we will definitely be back.

Daisy Cottage lies on the fringe of the high street of Moffat so ideal to access all its facilities.

Situated on a quiet street it felt safe to leave the car on the road, something we tend to avoid usually. Being only two miles off the main motorway, Moffat is an ideal location for travelling and meeting up with friends and family. We found the very comfortable and clean although it dropped very cold on the day we arrived and it took a while to warm it up. We noted that others had mentioned a 'welcome' pack but there wasn't one when we arrived. Although there is no outside space it really isn't needed, there is plenty to do in and around Moffat without needing a garden and good walks on the doorstep!

Just a lovely charming and comfortable little holiday cottage which is ideally situated for access to the towns shops, publs and resturants.

We really enjoyed our stay and can reccomend the cottage to anyoine considering visiting Moffat.

Situated on a quiet side road within a couple of minutes walk to the high street. Well equipped cottage with all you need for a home away from home. Beds very comfy, slept really well. A great cottage, fabulously placed near the centre of Moffat, close to all the shops, cafes and restaurants, yet, at night it is a quiet street.

Well equipped kitchen, tv was great reception as was the wifi, lack of outside space was not a problem as there is a park a short stroll away. Very clean, with little homely touches. We loved staying in the cottage and would have no problem recommending it. Our hosts were prompt in replying to queries and very helpful.

Absence of wardrobes a surprise, but every property brings its surprises.

Small under-eaves cupboards served as wardrobes. Absence of garden a drawback during heatwave. Good location.

Clean and functional. Great central position for Moffats so many facilities. Only very small irritation was the quality of varying tv reception using Internet signal system and the lack of a little outdoor space. Will be back in the future.

Well equipped and comfortable kitchen/dining room. Great sofas and fresh,decor. Quality bedding and comfy beds, though had to use one of singles as we found double a little small (we are used to a super king size, probably not a problem for a lot of people and we did get used to the smaller size and understand that bed needs to fit the room) We did have a slight problem with the heating, which seemed to switch itself off. Our stay was during the coldest week of the year, we tried not to use it too much, having a holiday let of our own, found it a little bit cold when sitting in the living roo, would a wood burner be a option? Loved the wee, nicely furnished bathroom. Really enjoyed our stay and Daisy cottage. Moffat a great location and great place to stay. Many thanks.

We had wet week so did not go too far and spent a fair bit of time in the house.

We were two adults with two dogs. A particular relief was to find a comfortable house which was dog friendly. We have been in houses which were so frilly that we were worried to sit down never mind the dogs. Property has excellent short walks from the door so that even in poor weather you can get out without having an epic. No back garden but as we said walks from the door and a very quiet street. The town has all the facilities you need and for those of us who have pets with us is very dog accessible. We would recommend this property to people who have a practical viewpoint on life and we enjoyed our stay .

Lovely cosy well equipped cottage.

The beds were very comfortable so we all had a great sleep. The instructions were helpful for equipment and walks too. A small touch but perhaps some some milk on arrival would be great for others who stay after a long journey. Thankyou so much.

Really good location, with spacious and comfortable bedrooms, except no pillow protectors provided.

No washing machine or outside area. Lounge, kitchen / dining areas good, though TV needed new coax lead to enable normal tv watching as no aerial connection. Lovely crockery, towels and good kitchen utensils provided.

Daisy Cottage is probably one of the loveliest cottages we have stayed in, Perfect in every way, situated in a perfect location, Neighbours and locals were very friendly and welcoming, We had a fantastic week and we are definitely going to book again but for 2 weeks, Extremely happy and grateful.

Clean tidy and everything you could possibly need. My husband had a lovely week in it, I unfortunately spent the last 5 days if Dumfries hospital with a broken femur.

It's a nice little cottage in a lovely location, very comfortable and perfect for exploring the area with great walk's at your doorstep. Also within ease reach of the Solway Firth Coast and Edinburgh.

Location very good, close to all shops, restaurants and take always. Great location for walking enthusiasts, will be back again, excellent holiday and cottage. Only one issue could have done with a clothes dryer.

Ideal location just a few minutes from the town of moffat with plenty of amenities daisy cottage is situated in a quiet street just off the main town nice comfortable cottage with most of the things you need only downside to this is no washing machine if you need to do any laundry if staying for more than a week also if you have a four legged friend there is no rear garden also toilet and bathroom is downstairs apart from this a nice place to stay ideal location to go from to visit other places motorway 5 minutes out of town

This was our first break away following the easing of lockdown and we were delighted with the extra precautions taken to ensure Daisy cottage was spotlessly clean.

Additions such as hand gel and disposable masks were thoughtful and helpful. This is our second visit to Daisy cottage and we loved it as much as the first visit. A real home from home with everything you would need for a wonderful holiday. Comfortable accommodation, with space for a family of four and our little dog. Moffat remains a welcoming place to stay with all of the cafes, shops etc fully compliant with social distancing. We felt safe and pleased to be able to take a well deserved break as we are key workers. We hope to return very soon.

It is Ideally located, just a few minutes walk from local shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Moffat is very warm and welcoming and extremely dog friendly too. The surrounding area is beautiful and there are many walks from the doorstep or just a short drive away. You are also well placed for visiting the many local towns and attractions. We would definitely return to Daisy Cottage and would recommend to anyone looking for a cosy place to stay in Moffat.

Cosy, sparkling clean and central but quiet location. Very comfortable beds. Kitchen well appointed with quality crockery and all mod cons. Beautiful bathroom and powerful shower. Moffat is a wonderful little town, very dog friendly. Booking so easy via the app, will use Sykes again and return to Daisy cottage hopefully very soon.
