We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage.

The whole property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The location was great for us and we managed to visit 6 historic houses and castles during our 5 night stay. The ground floor bedroom with en-suite was a must for us and the 2 further bedrooms upstairs were a very generous size.

Quiet little village within easy reach of Shrewsbury. Property feels larger and airier than expected. Warm and cosy. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. The large log burner (in the lounge) was great at promoting a relaxing atmosphere in the evenings. Owners were very friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. The thoughtful welcome items, placed in prior to our arrival, were much appreciated. Will highly recommend this property and hope to return in the future.

The old coach house is a hidden gem wonderful accomodation in a beautiful setting it had everything that you needed as well as being dog friendly making it perfect for us we would recommend to everyone.

We were grateful to be able to arrive a little earlier at 4 because 5 o'clock arrival is too late and in our opinion should be lowered

Lovely accommodation in a quiet little village.

Beautiful inside and out. The beds were so comfortable and having the ground floor bedroom suited us with an elderly guest. The sofas were a little too giving and soft for us but manageable for a weekend. Still a very cosy room. I’d recommend a torch in the property as it’s so dark in the evenings. There was a charger but we couldn’t locate it, so perhaps it’s been misplaced. I’d definitely go back! Added benefit of having horses there to say hello to, and only a short drive into the town.

Great location - quiet with lovely walks from the doorstep but also very easy to get to Shrewsbury. We also visited attingham park which was fab. Loads of space in the cottage and had everything we needed. Owners live next door - they were really lovely and not intrusive on our stay at all but equally were happy to help if needed, perfect hosts.

We really enjoyed our short stay in a great, character property.

It's a pity we couldn't stay longer - it's really well located and we'd really like to come back again at some point and to further explore the area.

The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable.

The downstairs bedroom with on-suite bathroom was ideal for my disabled son. The only slight down side was that the gravel path outside to the door was a bit difficult for him. The living room was comfortable with a good television to watch. The kitchen was well equipped with all we needed for cooking and lots of storage space. The owners were available asking how we were and if we needed anything.

Kitchen was very well equipped and the little extras provided were really appreciated. Lots of entertainment in terms of books, magazines, games & DVD's as well. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming in communications we had with them. Thank you.

Couldn't find information as to where to leave keys at end of stay, so had to put them through the owners own home

The cottage is by far one of the best we've stayed in, the owners left milk eggs tea coffee suger toilet roll, the beds were comfortable, lovely walks from the cottage, absolutely beautiful horse called chloe, so sweet natured, we normally avoid cottages with owners next door, but the guy is lovely, without being intrusive, just there if you need anything, I cannot recommend this cottage enough

Lovely cottage with plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 dogs, very well equipped and comfortable.

Only slight negatives were the broken gatepost that urgently needs replacing (smaller dog got through the gap) and the foliage around the door into the garden needs trimming back.

We have stayed here before and that’s why we returned, the cottage is comfortable and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay, very peaceful location and only a short drive to shops and pubs and not too far from Shrewsbury with great shops and eating places.

We noticed that the gate was broken which was a bit of an issue with 2 dogs as the garden was not secure but thankfully we had no escapees. The owners were there for a day during our stay and Jamie is very friendly and did all he could to make sure we had all we needed for our stay, we also met Mabel their very friendly spaniel but sadly did not see the horse on this occasion. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay on beautiful surroundings in a comfortable cottage

Absolutely wonderful coach house, very well presented with everything you would need and so much more.

Kitchen stocked with everything needed to be able to cook proper meals and fresh milk and eggs left was a nice touch. Lovely quiet location with footpaths nearby and open green space whilst only a short drive to get necessities. My only drawback being that my small JRT would have been able to get through some gaps in the hedge surrounding the garden however only a slight inconvenience and would not stop me from returning.

Pleasant outdoor seating area for enjoying a drink in the evenings. Would have been 5 stars but we asked Sykes for a property with a local pub and the nearest one was over 3 miles away. Not the owner’s fault but still a slight disappointment.

We had a lovely short stay at the Old Coach House.

The owners were very friendly and helpful in allowing us to check in early which we greatly appreciated. The Cottage itself was situated in a quiet location and is lovely and spacious , it’s much bigger than it appears on photos. It is well equipped with everything you could need and is finished to a very good standard. The beds were comfortable and the downstairs bedroom is great for people with mobility problems. The wifi was good too which is very important to our nearly teenaged daughter. Most places are easily accessible via the A5. We had a great stay and are looking forward to returning in future. Thank you again!

Wonderful property in a fantastic location.

Multiple fantastic countryside walks from the door (which our dog appreciated) but close by to many attractions e.g Shrewsbury, Chirk Castle, British Ironworks Centre, to name a few. Property owners were extremely helpful, friendly, and quick to respond to any onsite queries. We chose this property as it has a ground-floor bedroom, with en suite, suitable for one of our party with mobility issues. She was very pleased with the standard of accommodation. There isn't anything not to love about the property -.we hope to return in the future.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Old Coach House & would highly recommend staying there.

The cottage is roomy with a homely feel to it. It’s well equipped & spotless. The downstairs bedroom is excellent for me as I have difficulty with stairs.

Tremendous eye for detail so that there is everything for a relaxing holiday. The only negative is that the mattresses were a little lumpy. But overall, a lovely place to stay and I would not hesitate to recommend it..

Just returned from a great stay in Shropshire staying in a very clean and spacious cottage.

Loved the touches of fresh milk and fresh eggs that greeted us on arrival. The location is hard to be beat as only a couple of miles from the A5 so handy to all the sights such as Chirk Castle,Powis castle and Shrewsbury itself. Owners are very friendly and responded quickly to any issues.

A lovely clean comfortable cottage in a good location to visit lots of attractions.

We are a family of five with two dogs and found the cottage ideal for us. Theres a nice little garden to sit in which gets and the sun village it’s self is peaceful with nice walks for the dogs. We visited the iron bridge, Attingham park, Hawkstone follies, Chirk Castle and Powis Castle. Shrewsbury town is lovely for shopping and has lots of places to eat. We enjoyed are staying and would recommend The cottage and happily stay here again.

Excellent cottage.

Very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The downstairs bedroom now has a double bed. Sunny private garden in a quiet setting. Good access to local walking and cycling. Friendly unobtrusive owners. It’s very rural (just a handful of houses) which we liked.

The cottage was exceptionally well equipped.

All the cooking utensils and dishes you could ever need were available, plus some basic condiments and tea/coffee etc which was really helpful on the first day. There were also a few toilet rolls provided. We were able to let our dogs use the garden, and it was relatively dog proof, they certainly couldn’t get to the road which gave us peace of mind. The cottage is in a tiny village without shops or a pub, so you do need to drive anywhere you want to go. There was a useful information pack in the house, plus local ordinance survey maps. Some of the information may need updating slightly though. As there’s only one key for the house, it would have been useful to have a key safe outside, to leave the key for others in case you were going out separately. We had a lovely stay at this cottage and would definitely return!

Excellent holiday property in a secluded but accessible location.

The property has all of the amenities required to ensure a relaxing stress free vacation.

The kitchen/diner and living room are spacious and well provisioned The wetroom in the downstairs bedroom was wonderful. But it was a bit of a stretch to call it a six bed holiday cottage. The 6th bed is a pull out trundle and takes up nearly all the floor space in the 3rd bedroom. Also there is a serious trip hazard in the main bedroom (a beam across the floor).

The only thing that was of concern was the lock on the front door.

It needed skilful jiggling to get it to lock and unlock properly. Otherwise, a delightful cottage, very comfortable, and well-equipped. If only the weather had been good. We did continue to go walking in between, and sometimes during showers, though! Greg and Sue Walton.

THE HOUSE HAS BEEN RENOVATED TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD.

MR WORDIE, THE OWNER, WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND ON-HAND IF REQUIRED BUT NOT INTRUSIVELY SO. THE PLACE IS SO QUIET IT MAKES YOUR EARS HURT! THE HORSE AND MABEL THE DOG WERE GREAT FUN. A FOOTBAL GREEN AND GOALS ARE WITHIN A 3OSECOND WALK. LOVELY WALKS ALONG THE RIVER SEVERN AND ALONG A DISUSED RAILWAY TRACK ARE WITHIN A 5 MINUTE STROLL. A CONVENIENT LOCATION FOR WALKS UP THE MYND OR INTO ANCIENT SHREWSBURY OR IRONBRIDGE MUSEUMS MAKE THIS AN EXCELLENT BASE TO STAY.

The Coach House is an extremely comfortable and thoughtfully designed and presented place to stay, and in a delightful village in a beautiful area.

The accommodation exceeds expectations - being more spacious and generally high spec than the photos suggest - and has everything we might have thought we’d ever need on a holiday.

The change in check in time could have been communicated more clearly from Sykes rather than just updated in the key collection reminder email as could have been missed.

Very lovely cottage, as described. The property in the main was clean although some left over pieces of mess under the sofa. Well appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Hosts on hand if we needed anything and able to give advice on local walks. Very dog friendly and lots of nearby walks and places to go for us all to enjoy our staycation.

A beautiful, well equipped and extremely clean cottage.

Perfect for a relaxing break away from it all.

The cottage is in a beautiful, historic spot, very quiet but easily accessible to the main road.

History is everywhere, from civil wars to the birthplace of Wilfred Owen and some great churches, castles and open spaces. There is plenty of room in the cottage for 4 adults and our westie had a great time with a secure garden area and walks straight out of the door. Jamie made us very welcome and there was a wealth of information on the area in the cottage. Shrewsbury is a great place for cafes, restaurants and shopping and there is a bus from the main road, just over a mile from the cottage.

We found the stairs rather steep because the individual treads were high.

In the master bedroom there is a wooden beam approx. 10" high and 10" wide which lies across the full width of the bedroom floor near the bed and you have to step over it all the time as you move around the bedroom. After tripping over it more than once when we got up in the night, we laid the white towels over it to draw attention to it, and left the landing light on!! The cottage owner was pleasant and extremely chatty.

Accommodation was very comfortable and in a very peaceful location.

Owners were very friendly and helpful. The eggs, fruit and milk on arrival were a nice touch. The ceiling height in the bedrooms might be a bit restrictive for tall people and the shower in the family bathroom was a bit on the small side, but this did not detract from our stay. The accommodation has been well thought out and had everything you could want. Overall we would highly recommend it.

This lovely old coach house was just perfect for our weekend away.

It felt so welcoming and cosy. The kitchen had everything we needed, including fresh cold water and ice from the fridge, which was great for a very warm weekend! Little added extras like eggs, milk and magazines were lovely as well. Other than a few other houses, farms and a church, there's nothing else close by which made it so peaceful and tranquil. There is a field a stone's throw away which the kids loved going to as it had football goals! And the dog loved being let loose too! There were plenty of places to visit nearby as well. All in all, a fantastic weekend.

Would suit everyone, as it had a ground floor bedroom with en suite shower room. Beautifully restored from being an old coaching house , features retained to enhance. Exceptionally warm with constant hot water and heating if required.We were luck with the weeks weather and enjoyed our day out visits to Shrewsbury, Telford and Oswestry etc, Very peaceful and tranquil location away from main roads, lots of bird variety and good walks. Short walk to the Severn River, passing beautiful cottages and houses along the way. Field within 200 yards to exercise doggies was a bonus for our two dogs. All in all a most wonderful holiday accommodation requiring nothing other than yourselves.The owners who live adjacent should be proud of the standard and were most helpful. Fresh eggs and milk on arrival was a very nice bonus. Show less

We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and comfort of the cottage.

Accommodation was delightful providing a relaxing break in a cleverly converted stable block.

Facilities were excellent, warm, cozy and we'll equipped. Our host, the owner was informative on arrival and checked that our stay had been a pleasant one upon leaving. We would recommend this property without hesitation.

We visited Powis Castle and Attingham Park which is nearby. Both are beautiful National Trust properties. We took the steam train from Welshpool which was fun!

A lovely old property with plenty of room for six.

Kitchen facilities very good and spacious.Set in a quiet village location very close to Shrewsbury and on the cycle route 81.Some beautiful walks nearby and the city of Worcester is not to far away and definitely worth a visit.

The Old Coach House gave us a tranquil and extremely comfortable base for our short break.

Situated extremely close to some fantastic walking routes it was a cosy place to return to each evening with it’s log burner. Extremely well equipped and dog friendly, with a lovely sunny enclosed garden we were able to relax in the quiet evenings with a glass of wine underneath the vine that covered the south facing wall. Shrawardine is a beautiful little village, and the fact that the cottage was tucked up a quiet no-through road made it even more peaceful. Hospitable hosts, available for any issues (there weren’t any) - but available it needed.

Cottage overall was fantastic but the downstairs wet room proved to be tricky for the member of our party with reduced mobility, she suggested that grab rails would have made using the wet room much easier.
