Looked really nice on arrival and beds were made and towels on the bed was nicely placed.

Kitchen has everything you need. We had a nice comfortable stay and will definitely book again next year. Thank you for having us.

We have stayed here before and were impressed with the updates to the property.

I would not wish this place on my enemy and feel sorry for anyone who is planning on visiting.

The property is dirty from front door all the way through. Theres a bad smell, the sofa bed wasnt fit to sit on let alone sleep on, the kitchen sink was stained and dirty, mouldy crumbs in toaster, mould around all windows , shower blocked with mould ,grouting thick with mould, back of toilet filthy, bedside cabinets handing off wall and paint peeling off. We were going to come home after first night but weather was good so we went out early each day and came back late at night. We brought cleaning products and sprayed the areas that were the worst. This is the first time we booked through sykes we trusted their reputation but never again its very wrong to expect people to spend hard earned money on this I have pictures but no where to post them, people need to be warned before going to this property

Great location.

Property was comfortable but could have better maintenance. Leaking tap in kitchen. Really close to the beach which was wonderful,my dog was living his best life. Would probably book seabreeze again.

We booked to stay 3 nights at Ocean Breeze.

The location of the property was not great and the condition of the accommodation was pretty shabby, with a filthy carpet in the entrance hall with a couple of cigarette butts. Inside the apartment, it smelt stale. We were with our 3 young grandchildren , and our daughter was due to arrive later, so I unfolded the sofa bed, which was filthy. We eventually found where the extra quilt, pillows and towels were stored inside the L shaped part of the sofa (a welcome folder with instructions would have been useful). This extra bedding hadn’t been aired and smelt like a wet dog. Kitchen: Only 4 forks for 6 guests The “sharp” knives were all blunt No bread knife Kitchen scissors broken Broken saucepan handle Leftover food in freezer (chicken nuggets, oven chips, pizza, etc) Bedrooms: Thick layer of dust and dirt under the double bed Bathroom: Black mould in the shower soap dish Our daughter had a terrible night's sleep on the sofa bed due to the smell. This, coupled with our overall disgust with the property, prompted us to leave after just one night.

I have been coming to this place for six years and when I arrived it did smell of wet dog.

Also dog bowls was left in the room. The kitchen utensils wasn’t clean shelves was hanging off the wall in the bedroom toilet was still stained from the other occupants shelves were dirty blinds was pulled back. It needs a good deep clean and a repaint Hoover was full of dog hair. also, did not seem it had been cleaned. mirrors still had stains on the wardrobe doors. Wardrobe doors were hanging off the settee smell of wet dog. cobwebs was hanging from the ceiling lampshade was full of dust. The floor look like it was very greasy in Kitchen. Main area bedroom under the beds were full of dust and we realise that flies were coming in maybe through the dog smell that was left by the other occupants. food was left in the freezer, no welcoming pack after a long journey..

When we arrived we opened the front door and there was the most awful smell the whole apartment stunk so at half past 8 I had to open all the windows we thought the biscuits, cereal and bottle of milk left was a nice touch,but as the days went by we noticed more things that wasn’t right,broken untesils in the kitchen the pan was also not fit to use ,the things I had no choice to use I had to wash first as they was dirty,curtains in the bedroom was riffy,fag ends all out the front,sofa in the front room was filthy underneath we pulled the sofa bed out that was also dirty covered in crumbs,the cupboard that stored the hoover/brush/mop smelt so bad when I opened it the brush as also seen better days it looks like it’s 100 year old,under the beds was filthy I was frightened to put my hand under there to get my daughters shoe that had gone under there,quiet disappointed as was not told there was two people actually living above aswell,which they wasn’t an issue but would have been nice to know.

Lovely place well equipped though out .

was very happy with the presentation and cleniness of the property, could do with new/ firmer pillows but that is a personal thing.

Sykes Cottages may pay for a cleaner but believe me they do not clean , \i paid for 2 x 10 day stays .

I tried to find different accommodation the 1st time not possible had to stay . The second time I only stayed for 5 nights . Kitchen looked clean took the frying pan out , it should of been thrown in the bin . Pulled the settee back because I dropped my phone I filled a rubbish bag with waste . the settee had throws on I pulled them back not a nice sight to see . I have photos to prove it but no where on here to post them

I would recommend this property it’s in a really lovely area next to the beach and lots of places to visit nearby.

The flat was so cosy, beds were comfortable and kitchen was well equipped

This has to be the worst place we have ever stayed.

Dirty kitchenware, stained mattresses, sticky floors, paint peeling off the walls, broken electrical appliances. Smell of cigarette smoke. We left after the second night when we saw the state of the mattresses we decided we could not sleep on them again. Lastly, the advertised beach access is not available and clearly has not been for some time.

Nice spacious property in a great location.

Modern bathroom and kitchen. All facilities close by and a bonus of private beach access. Parking excellent. One area of improvement could be that the unit would benefit from a deep spring clean. Otherwise very happy and would visit again.

Although the place was okay it would probably benefit with a really good clean such as tops of cupboards and cobwebs oven and dishwasher also cooker hood extractor was broken also husband noticed that the fire extinguisher service life was out of date.

On the plus side the bedding and bed comfort was good lots of nice clean towels we enjoyed the area and the biscuits you left are now a favourite of mine.

Ocean Breeze is conveniently located between the beach and the main town road.

The cottage is well maintained and more than sufficiently equipped for a comfortable stay. The walkway to the beach needs a bit of attention but nothing too serious. We will definitely return in the not-too-distant future. The dog enjoyed it too. Alan & Gill

Stay was made into a mini break as we had a funeral to attend in the area.

Was good value for what we paid but there are some things which could be easily rectified to make the stay here better. Needs a better clean, cobwebs hanging from second bedroom, lampshade needs a good vacuum, stuff under the single bed (bottle of water) under sofa too was missed items so clearly overlooked (pompom thing which we left near the bin) Tooth flosser down the side of the sofabed - still there for you to dispose of! The towels were supposed to be white but in our opinion needed to be thrown away or used for pet towels. Lots of mark/stains on them all and had to sort through to find the best of a bad lot. Very small too, larger person staying here would have an interesting body dry on such small towels if you are used to a bath sheet for example. Bath plug needs attaching to the chain so that a bath can be taken if desired. Also NO mirror in the bathroom so an interesting wet shave when getting ready for the funeral. In the kitchen we found two chopping boards, one only fit for the bin as disgusting... No bread knife and the knives in the block needed a good sharpen so perhaps a sharpener in the drawer tor people to do this. We normally have a go at cooking a meal or two when we go away but husband didn't even want me to cook him a fried egg sandwich in what was on offer and he's not normally fussy. So some easy things to look at really but definitely cleaned better along with the towels.

We had a lovely stay at Ocean Breeze, it has everything you need for a break away.

Beds were comfortable and as it was February the flat was warm and cozy. Access to the beach was great for walks with our dog. A lovely welcome of milk in the fridge and biscuits was a lovely touch. Thank you for having us.

I always booked my cottages through sykes last one in Wales valley view I had an amazing experience, and then I booked an ocean breeze in Brean it was clean in the kitchen and master bedroom but I saw dog hairs on sofa and comfort level us not good like pillows and cushions were flat no cushioning left and the bed sheets were not washed like before I put my kids in bed I looked at bed sheets hairs and stains on it .

So didn't enjoy much

Nice flat but probably more suitable for Spring yo Autumn stays, rather than winter - we had some very wet weather and it was difficult to dry our coats off and we had to have the convector heaters on all the time but they did keep the place warm in exceptionally cold weather.

Beds comfortable, decent bedding and kitchen pretty well equipped but missed cafetiere or any other means of making proper coffee. Unfortunately the oven wasn't working but I guess everything goes wrong eventually so we were unlucky. Definitely need to put a mirror in the otherwise well done, modern bathroom - how do men see to shave? Standard or wall lights in living room would soften it up nicely. Great location with private access to huge long beach, and mini markets, cafés, etc just round the corner.

Interior decor poor, needs freshening up.

A few maintenance issues, eg Some of the windows cannot be opened. Furniture cheap and tired. Beds cheap and nasty and uncomfortable. Price high for poor accommodation, the only saving grace is the beautiful location.

A coffee table would be useful.

A mirror in the bathroom would also be useful.

You could not book a better place it's so clean, comfortable it's got everything you want.

Let's just start with the negative's: The property itself needs some attention to the curtain rail in one of the bedrooms.

The key to the beach was hanging up the but keys to open the windows weren't anywhere that we could find them. The sofa needed to be a little cleaner as we found dog hair on it when we arrived. Now for the positive's: It wasy to find. We liked where it was situated. Close to the beach where we took our dog twice a day. Clean apart from the above already mentioned & well equipped. A good cafe with lovely staff just down on the corner & we enjoyed a great Indian meal from 'The Bay of India'.

Can't fault any of the property all cleaned and fresh.

We enjoyed our stay was very clean on Arrival, there was milk tea and coffee also biscuits for us.

Everything there what we needed and beds were comfortable. Very quite location which was great and close to beach shops and places to eat also amusements.

Very impressed with the quality, state and equipment/facilities of this accommodation.

The owners made their short stay home as welcoming as they could for their guests. The whole process of booking with Skyes Cottages and the owners was friendly, easy and totally hassle free. All the information and requirements/ conditions were well laid out and openly displayed on the website and the accommodation. I liked the regular communication from Skyes Cottages regarding the holiday, which to me added that personal touch, be it virtually. Will go their again and definitely use Skyes Cottages, a company that is customer focused. A big thank you to the owners for a comfortable stay.

It wasn't the cleanest when we arrived, i felt i had to wipe the kitchen over with antibac first before using and some tlc needed in the property as our bedroom had a broken blind in the window and the curtain pole was hanging off.

We had a problem with the TV not working but the land lady was very quick to rectify the problem. My parents struggled with the double mattress, they said it was very uncomfortable. On the positive side, it was a cosy property, nice bathroom and most of all its a perfect location from the beach and all the shops, pubs and fair etc. I would stay there again.

was expecting a cottage more than a flat in a row of flats.

quite a lot of mold on the shower hose, fridge unclean and freezer was icy with food crumbs. cushions on the sofa smelt stale. facilities within the flat were good.

Very pleasant flat well serviced with plenty of utensils and very convenient location.

Bonus was a really good cafe with excellent menu and reasonable prices at bottom of road.

We had a lovely stay at ocean breeze, beds were comfortable in general everything was fine apart from the oven we turned it on but as soon as opened the door the kitchen filled with smoke and had to open the window to get rid of the smell so didn’t use looks like it had never been cleaned which was a shame that it lets the review down .

Really enjoyed our long weekend, ideal location for the fantastic Brean beach, good parking.

The property could use some TLC the microwave needs either replacing or a deep clean and the crockery is basic range However we would definitely return

On stripping the bed the mattress protector was covered in hair.

No dishwasher tablets or washing machine capsules Suggest a standard lamp for use in the lounge

when we got there the beds had not been made and the previous holiday makers dirty laundry was still in bathroom, fan in bathroom still has not been fixed as reported in previous reviews, heater in bathroom cut out after 30 seconds so no heat in there.

mould in bedroom windows. blinds in living room links were broken. wardrobe in twin room falling apart my husband works in health and safety and was appalled at the condition. could not get food in freezer has only had about 2 inches without ice in top drawer and not much in other drawers for ice. Shelf by tv was hanging off the wall' place did not smell very good, owner never answered phone when it rang, but replied to a text sent

The flat was nice well-built, the kitchen was very unclean, the lounge was acceptable, all the beds were comfortable the wardrobes falling apart the bathroom was very nice except for the extractor fan didn't work the heater had one speed hot.

The biggest down side was people up and down stairs on and off all night long. It was great that the beach was so close, we would consider the flat in the future

This is a ground floor flat not a cottage.

Needs a great deal of maintenance. It was not cleaned well and the freezer has not been defrosted in a good while. Curtains and blinds had mould on them, the flat smelled of damp. Position for the beach was excellent.

Had a wonderful holiday.

Property was clean and comfortable. Perfect location for beach. No faults to find. Nice little welcome pack of tea, coffee and biscuits. Will be looking to return next year

The beds were lovely and comfortable.

The property is really only for 4 any more is too much of a stretch.

The flat needed a proper clean as although it looked fine there was.lots of dust in cupboards and the floor was grubby had black feet after walking across the floor. Setting is close to the beach and that was great close to lots of things so our grandson was a very happy boy. Some tlc needed bathroom door was hanging off hubby had to tighten screws to make it safe shelf looks like it's about to drop everything off it and one kitchen cupboard door loose. Nothing major just needs some basic maintenance. Its a good flat in a good setting with a bit of time on it would make it great.

Very disappointed with the condition of the property, there was wallpaper coming away from the walls, mould around the windows and impregnated in the curtains, stains on many of the walls and kitchen cupboards and wardrobes were in poor shape , doors all needed adjustment and some of the shelves needed sorting out.

We have used properties through Sykes on a number of occasions before and never had a problem but this property left a lot to be desired, very disappointed.

We have stayed here before and we like it because it is close to all amenities and on the ground floor and it now has a nice new bathroom

We find the property very clean and well presented, but as it being winter time, it would have been nice if the property had been heated on our arrival, saying that we look forward to our holiday there next year.

There was a smell every time we entered the apartment.

Didn’t expect too much as the photos didn’t show anything extra to expect. I had to clean the shower head before we used the shower as it was black. Tiles round the bath were also black with mould. Quilt cover was too big for the quilt. Top shelf in the fridge door was broken and had been placed on the top of the fridge. Saying all that, it was in a prime location and would go back if there was no smell.

although the overall cleaning was of a good standard the hard to reach areas being the toilet seat and behind the taps on the sink and bath were filthy other than this all other fixtures and fitting were as expected the overall decor was tired but it was visible this was being updated the resort was nice family orientated place with the staff in the local shops and bars were also nice and polite

Mould in kitchen and bath room , Toilet seat kept moving when on it if it had come off you would have charged us for it breaking it, Stains on furniture looked like it had been wet on ,Blinds to long for windows tried to open them but they kept shutting due to being to long, Black bits coming out of sink taps and shower head Lid on kitchen bin broken, Lounge floor dirty under furniture ( toys and sweet paper )

Flat was great amenities good however we took our dog who sleeps in kitchen and the door to the kitchen would not shut so that was a bit of an issue, also needs a new shower head as it feels like pins going into your All very minor , would rent again Lovely and clean and nice position will beach access

We weren't given the unit number and if it wasn't for a passing resident who knew the area we could have had quite a problem,the parking space wasn't specified which caused some upset with the upstairs flat.

The flat was basic but comfortable, the garden was definitely not a garden, just a unfenced patch of grass. The area felt shabby and rundown and the beach access was not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.

This flat is not an acceptable place to stay,it is in an area that is quite run down.

Outside of property looks very shabby, inside the main room is dark and uninviting with just a sofa,dining table and a small tv on the wall,there was also a strange smell.In the bathroom the grouting on the tiles over the bath looked disgusting,the coloured bathroom suite needs updating, the toilet had a cheap white plastic toilet seat that didn't fit the toilet.In the kitchen the state of the sink was very unpleasant needs replacing. In the main bedroom the duvet cover and pillowslips did not match which did not give a good impression, the twin beds in the other bedroom had old fashioned duvet covers and pillowslips not like the ones in the pictures on Sykes web site. We only stayed for an hour while we looked on the Internet for a hotel to stay for the night before heading home. Our son,daughter in law and granddaughter were going to join us for two days at the end of the week,they still went for Thursday and Friday, my daughter in law had to bleach the grouting in the bathroom before they could use it,they agreed with us it was not a pleasant place to stay. This is a very overpriced property and not what people expect in this day and age.

IT WAS THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING WE BOOKED THIS APARTMENT, IT'S COMFORTABLE AND HAS EVERYTHING WE NEED.

PERFECT FOR FAMILIES. IT'S AN IDEAL LOCATION - CLOSE TO ALL AMENITIES, PRIVATE ACCESS TO THE BEACH FOR THE APARTMENTS, CLOSE TO CHEDDAR GORGE AND WOOKEY HOLE AND DEVON IS ONLY AN HOUR AWAY. IT'S QUIET AT NIGHT. THE BEACH IS A LONG STRETCH OF SANDY GORGEOUSNESS - NO SOCIAL DISTANCING PROBLEMS HERE. BREAN HEAD IS A GREAT WALK WITH FABULOUS VIEWS AND HISTORIC INTEREST.

Very comfortable accommodation with everything we needed for our family week away.

We booked again for next year while we were still there and have already recommended to a friend.

The flat was very comfortable.

The only issues I had was the letter confirming the booking did not state the unit number. I had to ring up to obtain it on arrival. I also had to to keep using the code outside to obtain the main key to get in and out which was a bit awkward fumbling around in the cold. It would be better to provide a key for the front door that can be retained until the end. One key broke off very easily in the inside door but on reporting it was very quickly replaced. The light fitting in the lounge area tends to dazzle when watching TV or reading. I would recommend a different fitting. Other than that everything was fine and I would recommend this property for a relaxing cosy break.

Very spacious, clean on arrival and everything you could wish for a family holiday.

We've had a fab time staying here, would definitely recommend.

Staying as a family at Ocean Breeze was a lovely mixture of a quiet, peaceful, spacious holiday apartment and close proximity to beach and leisure.

We had an easy 5 minutes walk to the beach one way and 5 minutes walk to the shops and leisure facilities the other. Superb family friendly pub with beer garden overlooking the bay nearby. Great bakery 2 minutes away. The apartment could have more pots and pans, but only a minor detail as we managed ok. Also, it could have been a little cleaner after previous occupants dogs. Our son is asking to go back next year, we definitely will as there's lots more to do in the area that we didn't have time to do.

Very enjoyable holiday and weather was great

The only thing we could fault this accommodation on was its cleanliness.

Kitchen and bathroom floors, shower tiles, kitchen cupboards all needed a thorough clean. Facilities were great, plenty of kitchen utensils, ideal when self catering. Netflix and Freeview telly. Reserved parking space. Close to 'the strip' where all the shops, pubs, arcades and the fair is, but far enough away not to be bothered by any of the noise, in fact it was very peaceful there.

With quick access to the beach we walked along the seafront each evening, definitely a highlight of the property, and we appreciated the quietness of the area. The property had all the items you may need, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, washing machine, tv, ironing board, etc and the shower was very good. The living room is nice and spacious and was a nice place to relax after a day of exploring, plus the beds were very comfy and allowed for a good night's sleep. We did notice a smell to the property and there were air fresheners already within each room to try and combat this. There is a parking space directly outside the property - sometimes others had parked in this space and so there was a bit of car bay parking shuffling but all cars were within the correct bays by the end of the day. Overall, we had a nice stay at Ocean Breeze and enjoyed our vacation to Brean.

Unfortunately the property was not to the standard that Sykes have previously provided.

The property smelt on arrival, the smell stayed the whole duration of our stay.

The outside is shabby and needs a touch up. The windows were dirty, obviously not cleaned. One of the kitchen unit doors was broken, washing machine looked ancient. However it was warm eventually, as was cold on arrival. The one good thing was so close to the lovely beach, which our dogs loved. We left early, bit disappointed to be honest. Although Sykes did offer to bring back the cleaners, but we didn't want this as it should have been acceptable at our arrival. Oh yes, the sofa smelt too.

A very quiet and relaxing stay in Breen nice flat with everything that you require

Please give correct code to key safe after trying with the code you gave me for about 15 minutes phoned the owner who was very nice and not a problem to her she gave me correct code Otherwise everything was great the flat lovely and everything you want from a holiday home.

Lovely clean cottage apart from toilet roll which was under the double bed.

Very quiet location and the garden is out the front of the house not the back.Short walk to the beach but would not be suitable access for elderly, people with disabilities or buggies as very steep hill. The quieter end at Breen Down would be easier to access via car. There was a problem with no outer front door key which the owner quickly rectified however the actual door has a key code but the door still opens without it. The property has obviously been refurbished but could do with a broom and some more cooking dishes. No other equipment apart from 2 baking sheets and saucepans. Very clean though. Only other issue was the heating of hot water. Never got enough for a sink full. Not a problem as used kettle and shower was lovely. We had a very enjoyable week in a pleasant appartment.
