Description

Villina is a delightful detached, single-storey house set within a generous plot in Compton Dundon, Somerset.

Well suited to families, friends, and guests seeking ease of access in a thoughtfully designed setting, boasting an open-plan layout, child-friendly facilities, a large enclosed garden and is wheelchair friendly and fully accessible.

Two miles away from one of the UKs most major Private Schools, this property is ideal for visiting parents, and is also fully wheelchair accessible, ideal for guests with limited mobility.

You arrive along a quiet lane to a large private driveway, where parking is simple and stress-free, and the house sits set back from the road, giving a sense of space from the moment you step out of the car.

The front door opens into a bright and spacious hallway, where wooden flooring runs underfoot, guiding you gently through the home, and the sense of openness is immediately apparent.

From here, the layout flows naturally into the open-plan living space, designed for shared time and relaxed days together.

The sitting area feels airy and inviting, with skylights drawing daylight down into the room, a mounted television ready for evenings in, and a corner sofa paired with an armchair where you can stretch out after a day exploring Somerset.

This is a space made for slow mornings, afternoon chats, and unwinding together as dusk settles outside.

The kitchen sits seamlessly within the same space, finished with contemporary fixtures and warm wooden worktops.

An island with breakfast bar seating becomes a natural gathering point, with soft light falling from pendant fittings above, perfect for coffee at sunrise or a glass of something chilled while supper is prepared.

Cooking here feels effortless, with everything close to hand, while the neatly tucked-away utility room keeps practicalities out of sight, ideal after muddy walks or longer stays.

Beyond the main living area, the conservatory garden room opens up the home even further.

This part-glazed space features a larger dining table and a sofa positioned to make the most of the panoramic garden views.

With its vaulted ceiling and doors leading outside, it is a wonderful place to linger over long meals, watch children play on the lawn, or simply sit with a book as the light shifts through the day.

The bedrooms are all carpeted and welcoming, offering calm places to retreat to at the end of the day.

A twin bedroom sits just off the hallway, ideal for children or friends, followed by a well-proportioned double room that provide flexible sleeping arrangements.

The master bedroom offers an added sense of privacy, with its walk-in shower and double basin set within the room, allowing you to begin and end each day at an unhurried pace.

A family bathroom with bath and overhead shower serves the remaining bedrooms, completing the layout with ease and accessibility in mind.

Step outside and the enclosed garden feels like a continuation of the living space, with lawn and decking creating room for both play and relaxation.

The village shop is just a short wander away for essentials, and a nearby pub provides a welcoming option for evenings when you prefer to leave the cooking behind.

From Villina, Somerset opens up with rewarding days out in every direction.

Glastonbury draws visitors with its winding streets full of independent shops, the steady climb to the Tor with views stretching across the Levels, and an atmosphere shaped by legend and history.

Wells offers a contrasting experience, where you can wander beneath the striking cathedral façade, explore the tranquil gardens of the Bishop’s Palace, and pause in the market square to watch daily life unfold.

Cheddar Gorge provides a dramatic change of scenery, with towering limestone cliffs, walking routes that reveal wide open views, and caves that tell the story of the area’s natural past.

Make Villina your base for exploring Somerset.

What guests are saying

Beautiful villa, well equipped, clean and modern.

Men in the house were blown away by the stunning television ! perfect location, but tucked away in a quiet road. Close to the Street outlets for shoppers. The loveliest owners, had a small issue which was dealt with immediately and I was kept in full contact. Would very much recommend this house and would happily stay again
