The Donkey Shed was a lovely cottage with everything you could need inside, the owners had thought of everything and the view was beautiful.

However the only drawback for us was that the property backs on to the busy A3030 just several metres away. Unfortunately this road carries quite a high volume of traffic during the day and the night, and sleep was disturbed at regular intervals due to heavy vehicles passing by. The map shown on the property listing seems to suggest that the cottage is a reasonable distance from the road but this is not the case.

We felt very at home at the Donkey Shed, everything we needed was there, ready to use and we found the house very spacious, comfortable, warm and decorated with taste.

We loved waking up to the lovely countryside views and every single one of the personal touch was really appreciated. Thank you for having us!

Spacious and well equipped- it was even better than it looks in the pictures. Very comfortable beds, spacious well designed bathrooms, and beautiful views made it perfect for all the family. Jackie was very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend staying at The Donkey Shed.

Our accommodation was in pristine condition and very comfortable and homely. Jackie and Max had written a thoughtful welcoming note with an arrangement of beautiful white carnations, also milk and biscuits. The weather was beautiful all week, which enhanced the fabulous views. A wonderful place to relax and unwind. It was everything we wanted. Spotlessly clean and the view was amazing. Lovely and quiet which is want we wanted. We would definitely stay there again.

A spacious well equipped peaceful property ,and lovely owners who made us most welcome,plenty of places around for days out ,and beaches that are some of the best we have seen for a long time, A holiday home we will return to ,Jane,Dennis,and Shirley.

What a lovely property the donkey shed is - it is beautifully furnished with everything that you could ever need there, it was lovely to sit and eat outside and look at the countryside around.

We met Max & Jackie also who were lovely, and would really recommend it. All the furnishings and bedrooms were just perfect for us all, and we all would like to return one day in the future. We wish them both all the best, and again many thanks for a great week at the donkey shed.

It is such a beautiful property and it was so easy to immediately relax there. It was lovely to meet Max and Jackie who have made the Donkey Shed a very welcoming place to stay. The downstairs walk in shower was extremely suitable for my accessibility needs. Our week went very quickly and we will definitely be returning for another stay.

Impressed?

Most definitely. Words escape me. From the moment we viewed the Donkey Shed we ( a family of six ), knew we had to book it. The property is exactly as shown in the photos and is a real credit to the owners Max and Jackie. Perfectly located for exploring the coast, tourist attractions and much more. Have never seen such a spotlessly clean and well presented property. So well equipped, seclude, quiet and very relaxing, it is out of this world. As grandparents we travelled down with our family of four and were absolutely gobsmacked with the property on arrival. Our family have never stayed in a quality holiday let like this and they loved it. Due to some medical issues my wife and I had to return home mid week but left the family behind to enjoy the sunny weather and do lots of exploring. They enjoyed every day. Sadly we did not get to meet Max and Jackie but our family did and have said what a lovely couple they are. Although we did not meet face to face, the communication with Max and Jackie was the best we have ever had. Even since we arrived home they have contacted us with concern about my wife’s health, 10 out of 10 for that and many thanks. Overall a perfect holiday accommodation and worth every penny. Thankyou Max and Jackie.

We found it to be well equipped and very clean. It was very relaxing with views over the countryside. We were able to visit some National Trust places and the coast.

We were very happy with our stay at The Donkey Shed which was very well set up, clean and comfortable.

The position near to Sherborne is excelent for local attractions, the town of Sherborne and towards the Dorset Coast. We would happily come back at some point in the future.

Beautiful Place to Relax, the views are stunning. The place is thoroughly spotlessly, clean and very comfortable to stay in, kitchen was well equipped. The whole place is just fantastic with everything you would need, Max and Jackie were very helpful and kind a pleasure to meet them. Definitely be back. It was like home from home, Beautiful Place.

The Donkey Shed is a lovely property, spotlessly clean and well equipped.

Ideal location for visiting this area of Dorset and Jurassic Coast. The lovely owners Max and Jackie are on hand if you should need anything. The White Hart at Bishops Caundle is very welcoming and serves good food. The Elms at North Wootton is also recommended - a cafe/bistro where you can have breakfast. We look forward to returning.

Located a few miles from the lovely town of Sherborne the Donkey Shed is an ideal base for exploring Dorset. Jackie and Max were most attentive and helpful. We will certainly check availability when we next visit the area. Bill Hammond

Some small minor points; No hooks in bedroom for dressing gowns,no soap dish or hand rail in downstairs shower.

The Donkey Shed met all our expectations and more.

We loved the open outlook and the spacious internal layout.The owners Max and Jackie were very welcoming.This was our first visit to the area,hopefully not our last.Plenty to see and do.

The Donkey Shed was an excellent holiday home.

It was very clean and had very modern facilities and equipment. The bedrooms and bathroom were all a good size and the downstairs walk-in shower was very good. The folding doors to the lounge meant that you could really enjoy the spectacular views of the countryside. Max and Jackie made us feel really at home and told us about a local agricultural college open day which we really enjoyed.

One of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed at.
