7 Severn Terrace

Great location, couple of minutes walk into town.

Everything we needed, well appointed, easy to do everything we wanted to. Good facilities for cooking, lots of options to eat out or get a take-out. Load to do in the area, highly recommend driving along the coast for walks along the coast path, Quantocks & Exmoor. Parking just outside, but don't take too big a car! (Normal size is fine, a large car may struggle with getting into the terrace/lane if there's someone parked close to the entrance). Overall, really enjoyed our stay, suspect it won't be our last.

We wanted a base from which to explore Watchet as a potential place to move to.

Severn Terrace proved to be the perfect base as it was centrally located, with everything within easy walking distance. Despite arriving mid storm where much of the country was snowed under and suffering icy, cold winds we put the heating on as soon as we arrived and it wasn't too long before we were warm and toasty. We had plenty of space (there was just the two of us but a family of four would have been equally as comfortable), a lovely deep bubbly tub to relax in, which we took advantage of a couple of times, a lovely clean, comfy bed and a well equipped kitchen. We had everything we needed for our stay and our border collie very much appreciated that within minutes, up a not too steep hill, we could walk to St Decumans Church, through the farm and onto The Mineral Line. Also a short drive away was Dunster and Minehead beaches where he loved to run with his ball. Others that have reviewed the property mention that parking is tricky but we really didn't find that. Our car isn't small but we got into the habit of driving a little way past the space and reversing back into it each time so that we could drive forwards out. Having said that we only used our car a few times as we liked that we could walk out. So unless you drive a double decker bus, don't be put off by the parking situation. It's absolutely no problem. Our accommodation was good value for money, and Paul, the owner, was easily contactable and accommodating when we asked for his help with something. We hope to stay again soon. The cottage was warm, comfortable, had everything we needed, and was convenient for shops, pubs, harbour and beach.

Loved our stay at Severn Terrace, it has been beautifully decorated and is very comfortable, especially the bed!

Shower is great and very good pressure, wood burner really kicks out some heat and the tv is easy to use and has all you’ll need. Loved the gift of a couple of bottles of cider and some cake, didn’t last long! We met Paul the owner briefly by chance and he is a lovely man. Would definitely stay again if I’m down that way, the people in Watchet are great. Must try: - Cafe in East Quay Gallery - Chip shop next door to Pebbles Tavern (best eaten in the tavern whilst enjoying a pint or two of local cider) - The Spice Merchant - Star Pub for a Sunday roast or steak and Guinness pie (landlord is a wonderful character) Thanks Paul! The house is well situated for the village and well appointed.

Watchet is lovely and has good facilities. If you like railways, the house is very close to the West Somerset Railway station.

The cottage is a beautiful cosy retreat.

It is in a great location for accessing Watchet and the heritage railway and also bus services to minehead or taunton. The house is a great size for us as a family of three. The beds are very comfortable and being in a quiet area we had a great night sleep after our days of exploring.

Central to town and harbour.

Clean well presented definitely go back.

Peaceful, tucked away cottage within easy reach of local shops and pubs.

If you don't want to use your car there is good public transport including a Heritage Railway Line.

Really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely renovated cottage with pretty much anything you need available. The shower is brilliant. Good location near to local shops and pubs. Paul was very helpful with faulty kettle replacement. Courtyard and garden may need a little maintenance, but as the owner has said you need a milder time of year to do this. We would both highly recommend this accommodation to anyone. we loved the house and the standard of its renovation ,xmas tree and decorations were very thoughtful and watchet is a lovely place to stay,location is perfect for town and all amenities.

would just say that the back courtyard needs a clean and whitewash would make a massive first impresion difference,also a bit of work on the front garden would be welcome,not a problem in winter but would be in summer. all in all we loved it. paul and lin hawkins

Very nicely presented and equipped cottage in a great location near the centre of Watchet.

Comfortable lounge, large TV with all streaming channels, dining room, very smart range cooker and a king size bed in the master bedroom with a view of the Bristol Channel. Good walking from the cottage east and west along the coast path and Cleeve Abbey and Dunster Castle close by. We had a great holiday and will almost certainly visit again.

Thefront garden of the property certainly didn’t match the picture.

Very overgrown grass not an area you would want to spend time in and neither was the back courtyard, in need of wall repainting and looking cared for. Not very comfortable seating downstairs but bedroom pleasant with large comfortable bed. Bathroom good size the shower was lovely.

Property looked good although we didn’t stay at all because the location was not to our liking.

Only comments regarding the property are that the gardens were disappointing and not really suitable for dogs and the vehicular access is very limited with no turning space.

We liked the cottage even though it needed a good dusting, the front and back garden were totally unkempt, my husband had to give the front bench a good scrubbing before we could sit on it.

But the worst thing was the little road to the property, we had to leave 2 days early as our Hyundi Tucson was too big for it and we now have damaged wheels which will cost a lot of money to get refurbished, so unless you have a very little car don't even try it

We had a great stay in Watchet and love the area.

The position of the house is perfect to walk everywhere. Although the garden is separated by a lane it wasn’t a problem getting the dogs across and we could sit with a morning coffee and see the sea. We did mention to you that the heavy wardrobe door was broken when we opened it but we didn’t really need to use it. Lovely to hear the steam trains in the distance. Great view from the main bed too. Lovely, quiet, chilled stay.

The cottage was lovely and in a great position to access the town.

Generally very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The only slight grumble was the quality of the cutlery provided - knives and forks that wobble in the handles don't make for easy use!! There were also no oven gloves provided. Having said that, we really enjoyed our stay.

- Heating was great, advanced and easy to control.

- Bed mattresses and pillows were worn out in the secondary bedroom and could be improve. - Cleanliness under the chairs and beds could be improved before check-in as there was a lot of dust. - Hoover needed emptying at check-in. - Kitchen amenities were very satisfactory. - Main Bathroom was amazing, however the cupboards and doors were squeaky which disturbed our baby's sleep. - Road to the parking slot was tight but clearly an added value to us. - Nice, quiet and friendly neighbourhood.

Lovely friendly location , short walk to steam railway and Watchet harbour . We had a great chilled out week . Will definitely stay again. Thank you for the cake and cider on arrival , most welcomed .

Perfectly situated only minutes from the lovely village of Watchet with its many and varied attractions.

Our two cockapoos enjoyed investigating the detached garden which is dog safe. High spec kitchen and bathroom which added to our enjoyable stay. Car parking is a little tight but not a major issue. Very peaceful location with just the birdsong and occasional train whistle. All in all a very good choice for strolling around the village and beyond into the Brendon Hills.

The property was very convenient for walking into Watchet, nicely fitted in kitchen & bathroom and all ready for our stay.

It was great to feel our two little dogs were welcome. (In the front garden they could have got past the planter into next door’s garden if we hadn’t been watching them.) We were aware that we needed to provide washing up liquid but it seems a pity that this isn’t provided : just another little thing to remember to pack. The cake and cider were appreciated though ! We would definitely recommend the property to anyone looking for somewhere in Watchet.

Lovely welcome pack and nice that dog bowls and dog towel were provided. The property was very clean on arrival and perfect location for our short stay in Watchet and visiting the surrounding area. The only downside was the parking, we have a transporter van and had great difficulty accessing the parking and then getting back out of the space. We chose to park elsewhere for our stay which did not cause us a problem. However, I believe there should be more detail about the parking to explain how tight the parking area is in case you have a larger car.

Clean and comfortable, well-equipped and well-located cottage.

Ideal base for exploring coastline and Exmoor. Nice harbour in the village with weekly market and interesting shops/cafes. Steam railway station is a 5 minute walk away

A cracking little cottage!

It was a last minute booking but we were not disappointed. The cottage is well equipped, including quality appliances. Dog friendly flooring, dog bowls and towels provided too. Parking took a little practice, but convenient and great to have in such a location. A comfortable cosy retreat! The welcome cake was greatly appreciated!

Lovely cottage in the Harbour town of Watchet,Warm and comfortable,amenities of the town all to hand.

We loved our stay, so did our puppy Pickles.

The cottage was ideal for a week in that area. The parking is a nice addition as it’s not an easy place to find free spaces. The Woodburner added a lovely warmth in the recent chilly nights. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. The decor is lovely and fresh.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We would have liked a better selection of kitchen utensils, as only 1 frying pan and 1 small saucepan, not suitable for self catering. A blind or curtain in the living room would be a good idea on dark, winter nights. The cottage is in a great location, finished to a high standard and very comfortable. We’d love to return one day.

Lovely, really spacious cottage in a good location to explore Watchet and beyond.

Comfortable, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with some lovely local artwork and accessories

We booked a short break and on initial inspection property seemed ok - the parking is down a very narrow pathway on a slope so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have a half decent car or less than excellent driving skills.

There was no welcome pack - a little disappointing but not essential, however the main issue was that the heating and hot water had been switched off - there was a note on wall saying we could put it on if we needed it ! (who wouldn’t need a wash ?) but the boiler did not ignite. It was August but it was raining and cold and we had a child with us - we certainly would not have booked a cottage without hot water. We tried the owners number but no response & contacted Sykes but no one got back to us until day 3 ! An engineer came out to the property and confirmed that there was a problem and re started the boiler system so for the last 4 hours of our holiday we had hot water ! Woo hoo ! The owners have offered us £70 - which is actually probably the amount that would have saved from us not using the hot water anyway but even more disappointing is that Sykes have taken no ownership and responsibility for our holiday - I would never have booked a holiday where I couldn’t wash or shower - it’s not the Middle Ages ! Additionally there is a washing machine but nowhere to dry clothes. I believe this is a new rental but it would seem that the owners are more concerned with saving pennies than renting a holiday let to a good useable standard where people return. I would recommend staying elsewhere and using another company to book with. There’s plenty more cottages by the sea !

Cottage is beautifully decorated, homely and well equipped for family. and doggy. All the required essentials and comforts we needed, Rooms are all generous and beds very comfortable. Bathroom with walk in Shower and roll top bath Quiet area near to the train station and local pubs and shops. The parking is tight (for a large car) as the lane is very narrow but its very safe for the car. lovely little garden and courtyard to enjoy relaxing drink after exploring. Perfect for short or long stay.
