We had a fabulous stay!

The hosts were fabulous and very accommodating. The house was absolutely gorgeous, even better than it appeared on the listing. Plenty of games and jigsaws provided, bbq was perfect for a large group and the kitchen was stocked with everything you might need! The view from the garden was incredible also, very quiet and peaceful setting. We had a brilliant stay, would absolutely recommend.

Stunning property and location.

Only negative is the check in and check out times, otherwise all good.

The stay was amazing, everything was where you would expect it to be, there is shops (co-op and nisa local) close by and even a Chinese and Indian takeaways.

It’s not close to other people to you won’t have to worry about noise with the neighbours. The beds where every comfortable and the images are exactly what was there. The downside was the hot tub. Only half of the actual tub works (the jets). But that didn’t stop us having such a nice time. Would highly recommend for anyone with a large group!

We had a wonderful stay to celebrate a 60th birthday.

Cottage was spotlessly clean and was equipped with everything we needed. Views were superb, would love to revisit in the summer months. Welcome package was a lovely touch. Would recommend one hundred percent.

We had a wonderful stay despite pretty awful weather.

We had age range 8-79 including 3 teenagers and two little dogs. There was a place for everyone - whether it be pottery painting in the huge kitchen - doing a jigsaw at dining room table overlooking the fabulous view - curled up on the sofa with a book learning about local history and culture away from everyone - watching tv in a group or playing pool or darts in the wonderful games room. Ample amount of bathroom for us all. The hot tub was well maintained for us and much used despite weather. Lots of room for coats and boots. It was perfect. Host were contactable and friendly. Ideal family holiday home. Each one of us really enjoyed our stay and we made wonderful memories.

Overall our stay in the house was very comfortable, clean and definitely warm.

The views were immense, absolutely beautiful. Our one disappointment was that we had no hot tub , when we first arrived it wasn’t up to temperature , we informed the owners who had it looked at but then the lid was left open and no communication on what was happening with it, when we informed the owners about how it had been left again he said it shouldn’t have been left open, but did attend, then nothing, no response on what was happening again , when we tried the temp it was cool, had enough by then so we just didn’t bother asking again. Such a shame ! Hope they have sorted for the next booking.

We had a fantastic time, the house had everything we needed for a brilliant weekend!

The only thing we would love to have seen was something covering the hot tub area as we had a lot of rain and it would have been easier to use under a cover. We would love to visit again during the summer time!

We have just returned from a weeks stay here.

Two families in our 40’s, 2 children and 3 ladies aged 70, Our second time at Blaenachddu. We have had a wonderful holiday.. unfortunately this came to a bitter end when we received a horrible message from the owner a day after getting home that made no sense to us. When we have responded we have been ignored and hung up on, so first of all I will start with the positives. The house is in the most beautiful location and the views are just stunning. It’s amazing to sit out there and listen to the sheep and wildlife. The games room is a fantastic edition and we spent many nights in there playing pool and darts tournaments which the kids just loved. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and on arrival we got a welcome basket with some lovely things in which was a nice touch. The house was clean on arrival and as I say, we have had a fantastic holiday. Fortunately we had great weather so were able to sit out and play cricket etc in the beautiful garden. Now for the negatives, which we put up with and would never have mentioned if the owner hadn’t sent us such a rude message after our stay and then chose to ignore our responses. So…. The hot tub was murky and dirty when we arrived. It had all bits in the bottom and just looked like it had not been tended to. We read a previous review mentioning the hot tub being dirty and we own our own hot tub at home so we brought dip tests and chemicals with us, meaning that it was tended to daily and we left it spotless when we left. The garden steps down from the paved area are covered in nettles which we had to try and cut back ourselves , not really acceptable. One of the elderly ladies in our party is disabled meaning she cannot get up and down the stairs. The shower in the downstairs bathroom is FREEZING! We tried to use it daily and it only ever ran cold water. Again..unacceptable. Don’t advertise it as a working bathroom when it’s not! There was also a leak somewhere in there as the floor was wet every morning when we went in. We couldn’t figure out where the water was coming from but it had to be mopped up every day to prevent anyone from slipping. The central heating had been left on downstairs and we messaged to ask how to turn it off… it took the owner hours on end to reply and was never sorted. We vacuumed up on a few occasions and the vac took our breaths away. It stunk disgusting! There were no lights around the hot tub. It was dangerous getting in and out in the dark so we went out and bought our own. Before we left we cleaned the house thoroughly, we hoovered and left it as we found it. We then get a message from the owners saying they are disgusted in how we have left the property, the house was a tip, that a filter part is missing from the hot tub… (there was no filter in it in the first place?!)That there were cutlery and plates strewn across the garden. We never even ate anywhere outside at any point! The only things outside were the bbq utensils which we left where we found them! We stay in a cottage every year and have never been accused of anything like this as we would never ever leave anywhere in the state we are being accused of! When we have messaged the owner we have been ignored and then hung up on. We have reported this to Sykes. Such a shame as we probably would have returned had it not been for such a nasty, unprofessional and downright rude message from the owners!

We had a lovely stay.

The house is nicely furnished and has everything you need. We had an issue with the a power outage, but this was national grid issue and was sorted as quickly as possible. The only other issue was the hot tub water didn't look like it had been changed. It was clean and you could smell the chlorine in it, so it didn't stop us using it. We would definitely come back.

Absolutely stunning location.

House was so lovely and very well equipped. We knew the garden wasn’t secure, however it could very easily be made secure with a gate across the driveway. We did have trouble with the downstairs shower, to the point we couldn’t use it. So with 8 of us sharing the upstairs bathroom, it was a military mission to all get showered and out in the mornings. Again did not spoil our holiday, but reading the guest book, lots of others have had the same problem. Also the card said that the WiFi would connect automatically but it doesn’t it requires a password. Personally not a problem for us as we all enjoyed a break from our phones. No toilet brushes? That would be handy. Hot tub was lovely but it did seem a little murky, again didn’t stop us using it. All in all we had a lovely time, and I am already missing the views and the cows!

The only minor issue.

It seemed the hot tub was rather dirty. Possible the filter is blocked? We dip tested it and no chlorine was present yet there was tablets in the water and filter pod thing. It’s a first world problem I know! Just might need a bit more maintenance to it for future. Wouldn’t mark it down for that as the place was lovely from start to finish.

The house and setting are beautiful but the maintainance is not good.

We understand that the owner had a fire at his own property recently and we sympathise with them. Nevertheless during our stay there was one day when we had decided to stay in that there was a digger and a dumper truck going from 6am till 6pm. There was no forewarning, otherwise we might have gone out for the day. Other things we picked up on:- The trim on the top stairway was loose and had a small strip of white tape to keep it in place, but we still tripped on it - dangerous hazard. The guttering on the conservatory was blocked and full of debris so when it rained there was a constant drip drip for hours after. It states that the hot tub is cleaned after every occupant, but when we turned it on there was a brown scum like substance on the surface - we did not get in

What a truly beautiful house!

!!! I would stay again in a heartbeat! We loved all the facilities, the space, the hot tub, the games room, the VIEW!! Unfortunately we couldn't control the weather

The property is much bigger than you think and the kitchen was very well equipped.

The surrounding area is breath taking and would be beautiful in the summer. The description needs changing as there is no log burner at the property only an electric fire which didn’t work with regards to heating. There were a few snags which we noticed and left for the owner but nothing which stopped us enjoying our stay. The welcome pack was one of the best we have received and the heating at the property was amazing for such a large property. Hot tub was amazing but lighting around it wasn’t great for dark evenings especially as it was very slippery. Overall we had a great time and it was great value for money.

Beautiful house that's well equipped, cozy, comfortable and clean.

The games room and hot tub was a hit with my three teenagers. We cooked meals and buffets for the family with ease, watched movies and had darts and pool competitions. We drove into the town for pub food which was lovely. The owners provide a book with lots of information on places to visit takeaways etc however we stayed in as the weather was horrendous!

2nd stay here and just as beautiful as our first visit.

Showers weren’t the best but that was the only negative

The facilities were good but my daughter, son-in-law and children were disappointed with the ground floor shower not working properly.

Whilst we only used the utility room for entry and exit, the smell of paint brush cleaner was unpleasant. Heating was good, but the placement of the large sofas in front of the radiators meant warmth from them was compromised.

We stayed here for a week, family of 10 people ages from 14 to 65, we absolutely loved it.

The house is amazing, very spacious so we never felt like we were on top of each other the games room was a great addition as was the hot tub. The photos online don't do it justice, it's so lovely and peaceful and we will definitely be returning.

Beautiful property with lots of space.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday and would return. A couple of points for families booking this property, there are no stair gates on the stairs ( this caused me lots of anxiety with my 1.5 year old grandson). The garden is beautiful but not suitable for young children to 'just' play as there is a large drop between the patio and grassed area. The sun loungers were broken on arrival, we did report this and were told new ones would be delivered the next day, unfortunately we did not see any new sun loungers. We also had water dripping through the kitchen ceiling on our last full day, and am unsure if this was fixed as we chose to go out for the day whilst the owner contacted a plumber. Also, It is extremely difficult to limit family waste to one black bin bag, especially when we had two babies in nappies and one older gentleman with prostate cancer. We took 5 bin bags of waste home with us (not great on a 5 hour journey). The above may sound quite negative, but we did have a lovely holiday.

Had a lovely week as a family of 6 adults and 3 small children .

The house was in a beautiful location to admire the stunning views , kitchen very well equipped with everything you would need . Booked a Tesco delivery to arrive when we got there which was ideal . Beds extremely comfortable. Visited folly farm , dinosaur park, botanical gardens , Beautiful beaches . Only negative is the rubbish situation, we always stay in large occupancy houses in wales and have never been restricted to 1 black bin bag of rubbish ( yes we filled 5 recycling bags as well ) which we would do anyway. Ended up taking our glass bottles home

What a lovely beautiful place.

The pictures don't do this little gem justice, the views, the peace and the beauty of this place felt like home and we didn't want to come home. The house was so spacious but felt homely at the same time. The games room was a huge hit with my youngest and oldest, they all spent so much time in there together that they don't normally do at home which was so lovely and they aged from 5 to 21. The garden was beautiful and big but not to big, the hot tub and trampoline was a hit just as much. The kitchen was to die for and everything you could need was here. The bedrooms were clean and pretty with a view you could only dream of waking up to. The bathrooms and showers were amazing. We will be coming back and soon thankyou for an amazing peaceful holiday we will never forget

The property was fantastic, everything was so homely and comfortable.

It’s was a great way to spend Father’s Day. The kids loved how friendly the farm workers were as they passed by. A proper Welsh introduction and we would love to come back in the future.

Beautiful place it's nice on the Internet but a lot better when you see it great rooms hot tub was great but they did not have it on for when we got there so lost a night in it .

we picked the place to stop because it had a hot tub .we couldn't get it hot .someone did come out on Saturday very quickly when we phoned

Beautiful house, very spacious, lovely furnishings and comfortable beds.

Discovered how rubbish we all are at playing pool and darts but was fun finding out. Views are stunning and the hot tub was fab. There was a plumbing issue which was resolved quite quickly. Would benefit from new toaster as only one side works, sun loungers and not sure if the BBQ is missing a bit, but apart from those, and it was really only the toaster we were using, it was all good. Lovely Welsh hamper was there when we arrived, and they let me bring my cat so we will definitely come back.

We had a great time.

We were unlucky with the weather but enjoyed staying indoors in this lovely spacious house with a great view on the hills. The kitchen is big and well equipped, we were able to cook big meals for nine.

The views are beautiful. The weather wasn't great but the house was perfect to escape to. It was well equipped in general (only 9 mugs seemed a little meagre for a house meant for 10) and the welcome pack was the most generous we've ever received - many thanks for that! We were unsure where to put food waste as all other waste was very clearly marked. We found the house very cold until we worked out that the thermostat was in the stairwell and closing doors to keep the heat in was actually stopping the heating from coming on. All in all a wonderful stay. We'd love to come back.

What a wonderful holiday. 10 of us ranging from 3-74 and there was plenty to do for everyone. Trampoline , hot tub, big garden space, games room, large sitting areas and quiet areas. This house felt like home on arrival - the heating was on, it smelt clean and the welcome pack was so needed after a long tedious journey. The host bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. The utility room was so useful for muddy shoes and coat storage. There is not a single negative remark that I could justify making. I think this must be the best holiday home that we have ever rented. Thank you so much.

Loads of space for everyone never felt on top of each other. Games room a massive hit with both adults and kids. Lovely welcome hamper on arrival, the best we ever received. Would highly recommend.

Blaenachddu is a very comfortable spacious property.

The welcome pack was probably the most generous we’ve ever received, apart from the basics there was a selection of delicious goodies including chutneys, preserves, Welsh cakes and Barra brith. Even though the weather wasn’t kind to us there was still plenty to keep us entertained in the games room or just chill and read a book also plenty of lovely places around to explore around this part of Wales for your days out.

No Wi-Fi when we arrived, until Wednesday , and the owners told us we had to speak to their internet provider to fix it.

Some of the property photos and/or descriptions of the property are inaccurate, incomplete and out of date ( Sykes T&C’s 8.1.2 Owners will provide an accurate, complete and up to date description of the property) There is no Aga. There is no log burning stove/open fire The hot tub has been moved around the side of the property, not on the patio facing the beautiful view. The pool table is different, it’s scruffy and needs re-clothing. There is a drop along the length of the patio onto the grass of about two- three foot, with no hazard warning, particularly dangerous in the dark, as the outdoor lighting was not very bright and no torch in the property. Sun lounger broken, mentioned in a previous review in May 2023, hasn’t been mended/replaced. There was no Wi-Fi when we arrived. (Sykes T&C’s 3.8 If the description of the property states that Wi-Fi is included the owners are responsible for ensuring that Wi-Fi has been set up at the property) The owners told us we had to speak to their internet provider on the phone in the property. Only two of our mobile phones (with EE) had reception. The owners gave us an 8G SIM card , which only worked for a few minutes. On Wednesday, after days of endless calls, waiting for calls, being put on hold, trying to follow technical instructions, we weren’t prepared to deal with it anymore, as it was so stressful and ruining our holiday. We complained to the owners, who came to the property to sort it out. As a consequence it was very difficult to organise activities/days out for five days of our holiday. There was no map and the tourist information in the property was limited. The post and rail fence could do with chicken wire along it , our dog soon worked out that she could get through it easily. We just about managed to keep to the refuse restriction of one black bin bag per week . We have never been asked to take rubbish home before. In other properties the owners deal with any excess rubbish. The grass was very long, shoes got soaking wet after walking on it. We complained to the owners , they cut the grass but left grass cuttings behind, so thick clumps of grass got stuck to shoes and difficult to remove. A number of bricks weren’t cemented on the patio steps , which my husband slipped down, particularly dangerous in the dark, as the outdoor lighting was not very bright and no torch in the property. We complained to the owners and they came to fix it. We couldn’t close/open curtains in the upstairs single bedroom. We couldn’t find the circular walks from the property and no directions/ map in the property. A hand drawn map / directions of walks from the property would have been great. The property was very clean and comfortable. The view is beautiful. On Wednesday the owners did apologise for our frustration with the Wi-Fi. They bought us a lovely bouquet of flowers which sadly we had to leave behind, as there was no room in the car. We paid £2600 and would like some compensation. We have complained to Sykes and they have contacted the owners, but they have not had any response yet. Note : Sykes T&C’s 8.1.2 Owners will inform guests in writing of any changes to the description of the property which would make Sykes description of the property inaccurate, incomplete or misleading.

Blaenachddu Is a lovely holiday property offering ideal facilities for large family groups - the hot tub, trampoline and games room were really enjoyed by the our youngsters last week.

Location is perfect for a number of holiday activities including beach and surfing. My only disappointment was the recycling restrictions which frankly are unworkable. One black bag of general waste per week is unreasonable; I took 5 bags to the local recycling centre who refused to take them; also the note at the house suggesting occupants should take home empty bottles is a joke - I certainly don’t pay £2.5 k to recycle waste ! The owner should be paying commercial rates to include removal of all waste /rubbish. Overall though a brilliant week, so happy to recommend Blaenachddu.

What a fabulous place, the views are superb with all the facilities you require to make a great holiday.

The property itself and the grounds were beautiful, clean, and very well equipped. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful! The welcome pack was a really lovely touch too :-) Thank you both!

From a couple of the comments I was a little unsure on what to expect but I really shouldn't have been and the pictures really didn't do it justice.

It had absolutely everything we could of wanted. The views were to die for and the house was so clean so no concerns there. We had incredible weather and spent most of the time outside but even if the weather was bad there would of been enough room and enough things to do inside to keep everyone happy. I would absolutely recommend and would love to come back.

There was a broken sun lounger, leg on pool table was damaged and BBQ wire was faulty.

The drains around the property need looking at as they were over flowing. when showers were on.22/05/2023

Fantastic property, views are stunning, games room, trampoline and hot tub such a bonus too, the welcome pack was a lovely surprise and very welcoming.

The owner stopped for a chat and advised us that there were baby ducklings on the pond past the cow field which pleased the grandchildren. There is plenty of space for 10 people and it was even bigger than we thought.

Amazing property totally loved staying over, no one around to disturb your peace.

Totally enjoyed the view and also the hot tub how ever it could be moved more towards the back garden (hot tub). Setting up the bbq was a bit difficult as it was hard to move it around, could get better and lighter weight bbq, never the less the property was well maintained and organised the rooms were very neat and clean.

We had a brilliant week at Blaenachddu and would highly recommend it for a large group.

The property exceeded our expectations and was of much higher quality than the pictures suggest. The amount of space both inside and out is excellent and ensures you have your own space even on a rainy day, of which we experienced too many! There were a couple of niggles around the place we ended up sorting ourselves but overall a great holiday in a fabulous and peaceful location. Unspoilt views from the garden are amazing and great for star gazers on a clear night. A permanent cover over the hot tub would add a lot and a preparation/outdoor kitchen type area next to the amazing BBQ would finish it off beautifully. Easy access to local walks and to local towns and the coastline. We were very close to booking again for next year but wouldn't hesitate to come again in the future.

This property is simply the best I have stayed in.

The comfort level is amazing and everything you need to cater for a large family group is present. The location is beatiful and assessable to child friendly places to visit. Any small concerns are responded to and sorted immediately. It is the top of my list to return to.

Our main issue was the wifi breaking down, the owners promptly supplied us with a mobile router and covered the costs but this was problematic due to poor signal. Wifi was repaired at the end of the week but this was not the owners fault as it was Christmas bank holiday. The photographs do not do this property justice as it was much more charming than we expected and the layout worked very well for our larger family. We rate this property a solid 4. The following points are just some constructive suggestions which would have just clinched a 5. 1 The jacuzzi is amazing but really needs to be under a gazebo as it rained most of the week for us but would have still been warm enough to make use of if undercover. Additional lighting would also be useful. 2 There appeared to be lots of outdoor lights but many were inoperable so there was insufficient lighting at the front door and around the bin area at night. 3 The glass pane which divides the dining room and lounge area could do with some frosted window film for safety. We ended up turning the sofa round to obscure the window entirely to avoid one of the kids running into it. 4. Minor maintenance issues such as functional but broken lamp, buckled curtain rail in didning room, kitchen table bench was loose, pool table leg was damaged but promptly addressed when brought to the owners attention. TV remotes held together with sellotape and lack of working outdoor lighting already mentioned. 5. Would benefit from extra cutlery for serving meals as there was just enough for 10 without any to spare. None of the above points should detract from what this property has to offer spacious comfortable well equipped and charming accommodation. We would love to return and experience it again in the summer months

It was a wonderful holiday and the house was beautiful.

Unfortunately it could do with a little tlc but nothing major. The main things that were a little inconvenient were the drain outside was blocked because of the amount of rain, therefore the water draining from the washing machine was coming back in, so we were mopping an awful lot when the machine was on. The main sitting room could do with a smart TV and the hot tub could do with some sort of outside cover or canopy to keep your towels dry whilst you are in the tub. Other than that it was fantastic and we will definitely be back

House was more than expected.

Had a lovely welcome pack on the kitchen table as we entered. Rooms all clean and tidy. All equipped with towels hand wash well presented. Was like going from home to home. Would love to visit again and highly recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay .

The property was amazing and we all had a wonderful time .

Couple of things were not working the dvd player in lounge and we didn't have the radio and we couldn't get the aga to light but someone came round and did that for us so then we had heating upstairs . Some of the games had bits missing but this didn't bother us as we went out most days. Overall a brilliant time was had by all thank you .

Well equipped, loved the hot tub & games room. Beds & sofas were nice & comfy. Plenty of good walks to explore.A big thank you for the generous welcome hamper, especially the cake & preserve, very tasty! Great holiday had by all ( six adults & two dogs ) and we are looking to return here next year.

Had a lovely week in our holiday home.

We were an extended family of 10 including three children. We had some concerns regarding recent reviews before we travelled but were assured these had been now sorted and indeed they had. The property was more spacious than we imagined and the terrace/patio area is all newly flagged which was brilliant for relaxing on and taking in the stunning view. One of the loungers was broken but we had taken some of our own so this wasn’t a problem and we managed. The property was quite clean throughout and bed linen was spotless. Well equipped kitchen with anything you could need. Aga looked like it had not been used for some time and was dusty with cobwebs in so we also avoided using it and stuck with the electric oven which was fine. There is the odd cobweb around and the windows needed cleaning - my sister cleaned the patio windows one morning so we could admire the view better. Most of the kitchen lights do not work but we managed. The games room was a brilliant addition to the property and we used this every evening. Lots of darts and pool cues supplied. The hot tub was nice but we couldn’t really use it on an evening as it is in a very dark part of the garden with no lighting. We moved a lamp and popped it in the dinning room window but was still a little too dark. Maybe some fairy lights would work well around this area? We got a Tesco delivery on the first evening which I would highly recommend as the nearest shops are in Newcastle Emlyn around 10 mins away and there is no large supermarket. There is a large American fridge freezer at the property so lots of room to keep things fresh and cool. Overall we had a brilliant week away and I would certainly recommend the property to our friends and family even with the niggles mentioned.

The property is in a stunning location and had plenty of room for the 10 of us to live comfortably, not on top of each other.

The owners provided a beautiful welcome pack consisting of tea, coffee, milk and other Welsh goodies, which was very much appreciated after a very long drive. The property still has a lot of repair work to be done which previous guests had mentioned but we found had not been rectified: no lighting outside, hot tub was slimy, loose bricks on steps down to garden, (which almost caused a serious accident), horrible stain on back of green dining room chair, all knives in utensil drawer are blunt, dishwasher with no useable cutlery holder, the oven needed a clean before use, DVD player does not work, the downstairs shower leaked everywhere, bulbs missing from wall lights in bedroom, my husband had to screw a light back to the wall in the dining room as it was hanging off, middle of long curtain rail not supported above dining room patio doors, curtains falling down in upstairs bedroom, stains and cigarette burns on cushions for outdoor furniture, splinters on conservatory wood floor, cobwebs behind sofas in conservatory, grubby windows in conservatory, darts were all broken, tips missing off pool cues, dead flies on window sill in conservatory, washing line is low and hangs over barbecue and hot tub, so can’t use either if you’ve got washing to dry, plus no pegs to hang washing out! If the owners were to maintain their property to a high standard this property would definitely be 5 stars! It certainly is not worthy of 4.7 rated by Sykes cottages!

But what a patio, garden and view absolutely brilliant. We loved our stay, owners were very friendly and what a great welcome hamper thank you...

Newcastle Emlyn. ▪︎Dirty plates and utensils. (See attached photo) Oven pans & trays caked in grease & needed cleaning before we cooked with them. Broken handles on large frying pan, non stick pans were not "non stick". ▪︎Mould found in dishwasher & leak under the sink with a bowl catching drips. Powder drawer on washing machine caked in old powder you could see dripping down the outside of the machine. Needed cleaning before use. ▪︎Preparation knives blunt and not fit for purpose, tried 5 different ones & none of them cut an onion! ▪︎No information for Bin Day or where to put them. Just about what to put in each bin. ▪︎Dirty carpets upstairs which are loose & not fitted, the carpet wasn’t over the top of the gripper rod & someone stood on it in bare feet, also when rolling suitcase out of the bedroom it took the landing carpet with it. ▪︎Power outage on 2nd morning. No communication from Owners to let us know it was being dealt with. Had to go out to find their house to ask what was going on as no phone signal in the house. ▪︎Very poor Internet connection & WiFi connectivity constantly dropping. ▪︎Downstairs shower leaks and floods bathroom every time shower is used shower cubicle needs attention to repair the leak. Previous guests have complained about this in guest book weeks prior & still not fixed. ▪︎Games room equipment in poor condition. There were pool cues without tips so were unusable we had to buy our own. This also applied to the darts & flights which were also unusable so we had to buy our own as well. ▪︎Games room floorboards needed attention as two of our party had splinters in their feet because the floor needed sanding. ▪︎Trampoline. This has been out of action since a child had an accident in May according to the visitors book so another facility that was unusable/dangerous. ▪︎No safety sticker/frosting on glass sliding doors in dining room as you can't tell if they're open or closed. Our 9yr old ran full speed into them when playing, almost breaking her nose. Owner said she herself has walked into it a few times. SAFETY HAZARD. ▪︎Various light bulbs missing in the house & others not working. ▪︎Lounge extension roof leaks in three places. Had to put bowls Underneath the leaks to catch the rainwater. ▪︎Hot tub didn't work for the shower 2nd week. Was only useable again the day before we left after a part needed replacing. The hot tub was a main reason for our booking & owner said she had told Sykes to recompense us for not having use of it, however we've heard nothing since. ▪︎The house has a 4.7 Star rating on Sykes Cottages websites. It definitely isn’t. The house is tired & needs a lot TLC, cleaning & maintenance & proper management/checks before guests arrive to avoid alot of our issues.

Lovely comfortable cottage with beautifull views kids loved the open space and animals nearby Hot tub a bonus had everything we needed We did have a struggle to find the place eventually got there

What a wonderful house plenty of room for all the family ten of us.

Enough kitchen utensils for cooking and eating . Loved the pool table and hot tub . A very generous goody basket, so kind of the owners . A lovely setting ,plenty of room in the garden for the children to run about , the children loved seeing the cows sheep and baby lambs . We would love to go back again. Many thanks to the owners.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Feeling relaxed and refreshed. The house is so spacious that even with seven of us staying we were always comfortable. The only snag was on the saturday of our holiday which was booked from monday to monday we were unable to access the garden for our planned bar b que as the grass cutter chaps were cutting, and strimming the garden for approx. 7 hours. Otherwise superb holiday.

We had a lovely week at Blaenachddu.

It is a lovely house with plenty of space for everyone. The views are great. The hot tub was used at least once a day. It was a fave with kids and adults. We would love to return

The cottage was beautiful.

Plent of room, big kitchen with everything required. Plus a really nice welcome pack. The conservatory and games room was great as the weather was too bad to sit outside. The pool table cloth was ripped, it would be nice if this could be repared. We could not get the hot tub to heat properly, but that may have been an error on our part. We all got lost trying to find the property as the sat nav takes you down the bottom road to the left where it forks, maybe a sign here would be helpful. All in all a great weekend and great value for money.

My partner and I booked it a week earlier after another holiday homes company let us down.

Sykes had loads of options at reasonable prices. We chose this cottage for the space, the facilities and the number of double beds as there were a few of us going. The cottage itself did not disappoint, it’s spacious, it’s out the way so you could be a bit more loud than usual. The hot tub was lovely. The house was heated fantastically, it went to minus 1 outside but we were roasting in doors. The area is beautiful and it’s based on a farm so we had the pleasure of seeing lambs in the morning. Overall cleanliness was at a high standard, kitchen was well set out and we cooked every night everything we needed was there. We decided there and then that we will book it again which personally I think speaks volume for it. My only small detail would be the pool table could do with a bit of upkeep or replacing maybe one that has multi use but even still we had plenty of fun in the evening playing it.

I would give it 10 out of 10. I do not have words to express. Me and my friends had amazing time . Would plan to go again in summer. Finally i would like to say thanks to Kevin..he is an amazing guy. Over all it was Sensational always in all ways.

he holiday home was lovley and the space was perfect but just a note to the owner the down stairs double bedroom has a very bad case of black mould and the flooring in the upstairs bathrooms needs attention as it feels like you can fall through but apart from that it was perfect

The was perfect. Lovely welcome gift and the hot tub was perfect. Place was quite and couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Excellent directions to the property, superb location and the house was wonderfully large and plenty of room for the 9 adults to get together and also to have some space to themselves.

The hot tub was well used and enjoyed by all. Lots of games to use there too which was very thoughtful. However a couple of points that need to be addressed, better lighting in the games room would be great particularly over the pool table and darts board. A bread knife and sharpener would also be very useful additions. All in all an extremely enjoyable stay and would go back again.

Beautiful location, amazing view.

Lovely to stargaze with no light pollution. House was very warm which we enjoyed. Perhaps the interior is slightly tired but perfect when you have gone away with two small children and a dog. The upstairs floor is a bit cronky and I would suggest a floor light by the two steps on the landing. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Hot tub was lovely. Nearby village had everything you needed including dog friendly places to eat. The welcome pack was brilliant with a lovely choice of items. Throughly enjoyed our stay.

The property was absolutely beautiful and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful.

The house was very spacious and in a lovely area but there was a lot of noise from the working place next to the property, the floorboards upstairs in the bedrooms are broken so you had to pick your way around.

The garden wasn't suited for our dog, she could get out on to the lane so we had to be outside with her all the time.

This property is very spacious, has spectacular views and is a lovely place to stay.

Clean and very comfortable, the bedding is high quality, great seating area outside and large garden. Would definitely recommend, enjoyed every minute here, and a nice touch with the welcome pack

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage.

There is plenty to do on the grounds to keep busy and a lovely place to unwind for a break. My advice to anyone that wants to use streaming services (Netflix) would be to take a laptop and hdmi cable.

Overall wondersful stay.

Hot tub could have bern warmer and the oven door wouldnt close. Gsmes room floor gave us splinters. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful, peaceful setting. The house itself is lovely. The bed wasnt the most comfortable but otherwise facilitues were fab. We will definitely be coming to stay again and would easily recommend this place to stay. Oh and the log burner was lovely!!

Lovely quiet area in the beautiful welsh country.

Friendly locals, central location to see the south west of wales, Tenby, new quay and Aberystwyth all around an hours drive away. The property next to a quiet working farm and business (rarely saw them or heard a thing!). Nice little walks on the country roads around the property to stretch your legs, can take around an hour where you can see the farm animals and nice views over the tops. Inside the property we were kept lovely and warm with the central heating, we took extra wood for the log burning fire which we used in the evening and would recommend doing the same if you want that extra touch. The bedrooms were very comfy and clean, nicely furnished in each and every one and plenty of space in each for your belongings. Same for the 3 bathrooms. The Hot Tub was great, took a day or so to heat up after it’s serviced, but I’d rather lose a day and know it’s clean! The view from the tub are brill, would recommend you take sandals and a dressing gown to make things a little comfier getting in and out. Kitchen appliances were all good, plenty of pots pans and cutlery, only thing missing was a pair of working scissors but I’m being picky. Lovely welcome basket thank you. Large sofa and tv in the living area, we took a laptop and HD cable, the WiFi was good and we were able to stream Netflix and sky go. Wood burner to keep it cosy and plenty of games to play although they do need some tlc. Darts board and pool table to mix it up a bit, we never got bored! We really enjoyed our stay and would defiantly return and recommend this property and area for a nice relaxing break. I’d give a strong 9/10, the wiggle room would just be the little bit of missing TLC around the games and games room, Garden and cleaning, bit more love and attention here and it would be spot on, but overall a very very very nice stay. The farm house exceeded our expectations & was perfect for a large family holiday We appreciated the welcome gift of tea, jam & welsh cakes & loved the Aga & woodfire Would definitely recommend and go again

The house was clean and had good facilities.

Everything in working order apart from the shower downstairs leaked so we chose not to use it. Hot tub wasn’t listed and was a good addition. House was ideally placed to explore and was great for a large group.

A very nice house that has all the facilities that one would need.

Great location and great views from the garden. They provide all the items needed for a comfortable stay. Overall would recommend staying here if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life

There was one thing I was very disappointed with, on viewing the property it shows on the pictures a trampoline in the ground which I thought would be perfect for my 3yr old granddaughter as we wouldn't have to worry about her playing on it and falling off, and she was so excited about it.

When arriving at the property we noticed the trampoline was curved, after closer inspection we saw the trampoline was not safe, and was very unstable, was curved up at the sides and was not secure in the ground, my granddaughter was very upset that she couldn't play on it.

It's a lovely big house, well appointed with everything needed.

We had a lovely family Christmas and were delighted that the owner took the time to decorate the house, it was a lovely touch. The wifi didn't work for a while but we had had a huge storm the day before. We will definitely be back. The negative thing I would say, is that we had toddlers with us and there is no fire guard, and a gate on the access to drive would be good as dogs are allowed. Our Kelpie managed to tiptoe around the edge of the cattle grid.

Thoroughly enjoyed the setting, size and house.

Disappointed with the information that I was given as I specifically asked if there were any steps on the ground floor as my dad is unable to walk more that a few paces with a walking frame and uses a mobility scooter.

The dining table was on a different level to the kitchen by 2 steps and lounge by one large step down, We did manage with my brother and husband helping him but feel that this needs to be clear in the property details.

Blaenachddu was a brilliant house to see in the new year with friends.

It was prefect and would highly recommend.

It was so comfortable relaxing and beautifully scenic was very chilled out would definitely recommend and stay there again.
