What guests are saying
Lovely remote location but still within walking distance via bridlepath and lanes to New Quay.
Cottage was small but was very well equipped. Enclosed garden which is perfect for dogs. Very enjoyable stay. Thank you.
Upon arrival we loved the setting and the cottage.
Initially it looked very clean. After unpacking, we noticed quite a lot of dog hair on the sofa cushions and rug. We gave it a hoover and shook the cushions off outside. When we went to bed we noticed that there was even more dog hair and stains on the bedding. On one of the pillow cases there was a brown blood stain. The bedding had obviously been washed but the stains and fur remained. We appreciate that this is a dog friendly cottage (we have one at home) but we don't want to share soft furnishings with somebody elses. All dog hair should have been removed and stained bedding isn't acceptable. We have sent photos to Sykes showing the numerous stains and hair. We took the bedding off and shook that off outside as best as we could. We also swapped pillows over. There was also a random slipper under the bed. The local property office offered to send cleaners in (after we'd already slept in the beds) but we weren't happy having them in, as our belongings were all unpacked. They also couldn't give us a time so we declined the offer. We'd sorted it as best as we could. We were also left only three bath towels to share between the four of us. Other than those issues, the cottage is lovely, well furnished and well stocked. There is mould around the bottom of the walls in the main bedroom which might bother some. Clothing storage is also needed in the twin room as, three small bedside table drawers between two people isn't enough.
What a lovely little cottage, plenty of room for us as a family of 3 with our beloved cockapoo.
Beds were so comfortable, place was very clean and tidy. It also had everything you’d need in a kitchen including the finer details. An information book was left which was very useful to read. It was close by to the shops/beach and there were lots of places a short drive away. Whilst you could easily walk to the beach I felt the road was too fast/busy for us to walk daily (child has additional needs) others may be absolutely fine. We enjoyed our stay - so peaceful to end the day relaxing and the sunset in the field next to us was beautiful.
