We had a lovely stay at the Brambles.

The location is fab, it’s a 10/15 minute walk into Monmouth and is a safe walk that’s pretty much flat. Lidl is a few minutes walk away so perfect for food shopping. The property was nice and spacious and I was glad of the two bathrooms and two sitting rooms as my eldest son had smuggled his PS5 with him on holiday so one of the sitting rooms became a gaming room. We also made friends with a local cat that visited us often. My only grumble about the Brambles is, every morning I was woken up at 5am by traffic.. it appears that there are gaps between the windows which needs some maintenance hence the noise coming in and the bottom bathroom being quite drafty! We also didn’t park on the drive as it’s quite steep but there is plenty of parking on the road. Would we return to the Brambles? Yes most definitely.

We met the owner on arrival and briefly during our stay and they were friendly and helpful.

The location is good in that the cottage is not in the centre of Monmouth (narrow streets and one way systems) but across the Wye, on the East bank, 10 to 15 minutes walk from the centre. The only drawback is that the back of the house is close below the A4136, going uphill at that point, so there was noise from traffic. This wasn’t a problem with windows closed, but might be an issue on hot nights. The hot tub was great!
