  • "We loved our holiday here, the location was perfect, so long as you don't mind short drives out."

The cottage itself was well equipped and comfortable. The owners were very helpful when the washing machine broke, thankfully towards the end of our trip. It was well located for Cardigan, St Dogmaels and Newport. We would absolutely return.. Thank you for the most wonderful Easter.

So glad you enjoyed - apologies about the washing machine - all fixed now (it was only a few months old - these things do happen). You had reasonably good weather which is great for getting out and about. It was good to see everyone enjoying the play area. Property Owner

  • "We stayed at the Granary from 30/12/2021-06/01/2022 a party of x6 (x4 adults & 2 children aged 14 & 12) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & the upside barn was the perfect rural retreat!"

Clean, thoroughly & adequately equipped (even with WiFi that kept up with the two ‘teens!) & cozy / comfortable. It had everything we needed whilst we was there. The weather was fairly mild, but the temperature did drop, so we did get to use the lovely wool burning fire! We visited all the local beaches for some long wintery walks & all main amenities within 20 minute drive. The owners were friendly & helpful & made us feel welcome. We have stayed in many cottages / holiday homes all over for New Year & The Granary was up there as one of our favourites.

New Year is always a great time to getaway and recharge your batteries- - delighted to be listed as one of your favourite places to stay - it’s quite a quirky property with the upside down living . Property Owner

  • "Lovely quiet location in a charming barn conversion with a superb family room on the second floor and a well-equipped kitchen but for a missing corkscrew/bottle opener and a rather small cafetiere."

The kids loved the play area nearby and the fact that there was a pumpkin farm right next door with lots of Halloween features. Very warm, with a highly efficient log burner, which was just right for that wet day playing board games. Perfect if you want to get away from it all and don't mind driving on single-track lanes with high banks and sharp corners. Apparently incomers always reverse for the locals, who seem very friendly.

So pleased you enjoyed - yourselves - apologies for the corkscrew being missing - we do seem to go through an awful lot of them - I think they get taken outside and then get lost - ( easily done) Property Owner

  • "Beautiful area, fantastic walking on coastal path."

Cottage very gloomy and dated, desperately needs an update - particularly the bathrooms, which were sadly a bit grubby. On the plus side, modern well equipped kitchen.

Thank you for your feedback - we have spoken to the cleaners who apologies profusely for any oversights - we only wish you had mentioned your concerns whist on holiday so we could have rectified them. Regarding the hand held shower over the bath unfortunately there is little that can be done as we are in the countryside and do not have the same water pressure that is enjoyed in towns and cities. So pleased you enjoyed the space inside and outside - it’s lovely to see the children enjoying the space and freedom Property Owner

  • "The place was great."

We loved everything about it. It was clean, warm, cozy, looked exactly as on the pictures, very well equipped and furnished, nice fire place and decent wi-fi too. Location was good, 15 min drive to the supermarket. Great views around. Greetings to the host! Very nice man. We highly recommend and we will be back!

  • "The stay was very enjoyable."

We were just a little disappointed by the photos showing there is a gym and when we got there we couldn't use this. Also the kids play house parts were not in the garden how the photos showed. We thought we had the full cottage but it was two cottages in the photo. But farmer and wife were very accommodating kind and helpful. The area was perfect. We enjoyed our time very much. Thank you Jai and family

The property

Built over 150 years ago, this beautiful stone barn conversion was originally the farm's granary.

Now it is a comfortable 'up-side-down' holiday home with all modern comforts.

Many of the original features still remain such as the massive exterior stone steps, the vaulted beamed ceilings and mellow stone walls, which give the property character.

Quiet country lanes lead to the barn, which is just a few minutes' drive from the Pembrokeshire coast path and excellent beaches at Newport, Poppit and Ceibwr.

The coastal town of Newport and market town of Cardigan are each a few minutes drive and offer a host of galleries, studios, shops, eateries and pubs.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the freedom of the farmland and woodland walks surrounding The Granary.

There is also a gym and you can even bring your horse on holiday - the country lanes and beaches near to this property are perfect for horse riding.

If you would like to bring your horse/s on holiday, stabling is offered at an extra charge, please ask for more details.

All guests have free access to the sunflower and pumpkin farm when they are in season.

Trefaes Ganol Cottages

Available individually, or ideal for families/groups, three separate properties in the same location. The Farmhouse sleeps 8, The Granary sleeps 6 and Stable Cottage is perfect for a couple.
