Description

Resting on the outskirts of the pretty seaside town of Newport is this characterful, Pembrokeshire-stone, detached cottage Sea View.

Boasting a large lawn garden with seating, perfect for spending the warmer months in, along with family-friendly facilities, this property makes the ideal escape any time of year.

Arriving at the cottage, the spacious ground floor hosts plenty of communal quarters where you can spend some quality time with your loved ones.

Step into the sitting room, boasting characterful white beams, and kick off your shoes before sinking into the sofa to watch TV while the wood burning stove provides a comforting amber glow.

If you like to escape with a good book, the cottage hosts a charming snug, fit with a gas fire and quality furniture for an afternoon of tranquillity.

From here, make you way into the kitchen to rustle up a tasty dinner for the family; the kitchen hosts an electric oven and gas hob, along with a handy dishwasher to make cleaning up a breeze.

Gather your group in the conservatory and sit down to dine while gazing out at the sea views from the large windows.

The conservatory is also home to a sofa and two armchairs, making it the ideal spot for your morning coffee with a view.

Completing the ground floor is a convenient utility room so you can freshen up your clothes throughout your stay, as well as a handy cloakroom with toilet and hand basin.

As the evening draws to a close, head upstairs to find the bedrooms; the master bedroom boasts an en-suite shower room and plenty of storage along with a double bed, while a further double and a twin rest on the first floor too.

The bedrooms are serviced by a bathroom where you can soak the day away with a bubble bath.

Back on the ground floor, make your way into the spacious garden which boasts beautiful sea views and furniture, perfect for enjoying your dinner al fresco, while the large lawned areas offer space for your four-legged friends to stretch their legs.

If you don't fancy cooking one evening, head into Newport town centre to sample some of the local eateries.

Tides Kitchen & Wine Bar offers a delicious fresh seafood menu, but if pub grub is more to your taste, give The Golden Lion Hotel a try.

Newport beach is home to some of the glorious views in the area, overlooking dramatic clifftops with rolling greenery atop, you can spend a day in the sun, trying your hand at some new watersports on the calming shores.

For days out while staying at Sea View, take a trip to Carreg Coetan and explore this historic site while encompassed by picturesque scenery.

Children and animal lovers can enjoy a day at the Welsh Wildlife Centre, learning about the species found in the nearby Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve.

The area is also a haven for antique enthusiasts, with the Carningli Centre boasting an eclectic range of antiques, restorations, books and art, right in the centre of the town.

Further afield is the popular resort of Cardigan, with its delightful bay and the ruins of the 12th century Cardigan Castle standing prominently within the town, Cardigan makes for a lovely day out for all ages and tastes.

Sea View is a tremendous property for a relaxing family break to west Wales.

Lovely property with distant sea view and with good walks from the house.

Generally well appointed, but the main lights in the large conservatory were prone to flickering when the dimmer switch was set to anything above its lowest setting. We also had to find a bulb for one of the bedside lights in the en-suite bedroom, which was missing when we arrived.

When booking a holiday the 2 top priorities are 1) safe enclosed garden and 2) walks from the door, Sea View did not disappoint, the garden was safe and enclosed for our 2 dogs and there was an abundance of walks from the door.

Our favourite part of the house was the orangery. The central heating was very efficient and we had the log fire as an option too. Kitchen very well equipped. We did feel the house needed a deep clear, windows were not clean and in places some TLC including maintenance, window lock in utilty, outdoor lights (only 1 worked), window latches need screws, shower heads kept sliding down. Sea View is a lovely holiday home, perfect if you love walking and need a complete reset.
