  • "We reported the kitchen knobs hanging off last year and still are."

    We received the email about the cooker notworking at the end of the holiday but a ?cooker/another microwave was left on top of the gas hob no instructions and no room to plug it in the oven was replaced in full while we were there, and I do have to wonder why this could not be done prior to our stay £350 if we damage anything so although I have already booked for next year , but look forward to compensation for the inconvenience of Sunday dinner cooked on the hob I have photos to prove the dumped oven on the hob not plugged in and no instructions.

  • "I have stayed at Winkle Cottage many times."

    I keep returning because it offers all I want for my stay in Aldeburgh. It’s comfortable, well equipped, and conveniently located. It also allows me to invite friends to visit and stay. A stay there to celebrate my and a friend’s birthday has now become part of my summer every year.

  • "The controller for the heating had stopped working, we changed the batteries and the house warmed considerably."

    I'm not sure if it's in the remit of the homeowner but the driveway at the side of the house had enormous pot holes.

  • "Comfortable and clean with easy to use appliances and a shower with both temperature and pressure."

    Almost next door to the best pub and chippy in town ( but not so close to be bothered with noise) Everything you need for a pleasant stay.

  • "This year was my eighth visit to Winkle Cottage at this time in June."

    It’s very comfortable, is convenient for the beach, and is quieter than others nearer the centre of town. It also has the advantage of a courtyard which is perfect for meals especially when the weather has been as good as this year. For meeting up with friends on the coast, this is the ideal cottage.

  • "The property is in a ideal location and we really enjoyed the outdoor space as we had fantastic weather however the garden is full of dead leaves and overrun wisteria so much so the outside light is useless."

  • "A great place to stay: comfy, well equipped, close to everything, some private outdoor sitting, and the bonus for Aldeburgh, somewhere to park the car."

    We had a minor electrical problem and the housekeeper was round to discuss it almost as soon as I'd messaged her - brilliant!

  • "We were impressed on the many updates the owner had made the new boiler and the ..."

    We were impressed on the many updates the owner had made the new boiler and the kitchen cupboards cleared of a lot of unnecessary items, the only thing we were unable to find was a hair dryer but all in all the cottage offers the perfect holiday

  • "Loved staying at Winkle Cottage last week."

    I did have a bit of trouble trying to undo the back gate but maybe that was me and fumbling fingers. Great location, lovely patio garden and clean house. If I was being critical the kitchen bin was broken and so didn’t lift by the foot pedal. Also the loo brush in the bathroom looks a bit sad. However it is a sweet lovely cottage. Would stay again.

  • "Winkle cottage is the perfect place to stay in Aldeburgh."

    It’s a lovely, cosy cottage close to the beach and in a quiet part of the town. It also has a great yard/patio for eating outside when the weather is fine.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!
