  • "The property was lovely and characterful."

We had a lovely stay. Our family of 3 generations enjoyed the facilities and surroundings. We cooked all weekend and the place had everything we needed (apart from tongs!) would recommend for larger families and groups alike. David & Kate were accommodating and checked in on us. Overall a wonderful stay.

  • "A wonderful place and the owners have thought of everything."

The barn house is beautifully decorated and equip with everything you could possibly think of. A very comfortable stay for a range of ages from 11-70! Proper luxury! Absolutely loved the games room too. A truly memorable weekend - thank you!

There is everything you need for your stay. Bedding and towels top quality. Set in beautiful rural countryside. Would recommend without hesitation. A five star property.

  • "Brilliant place to stay."

Plenty of opportunities for Dog Walking. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and the owners had done the very best to make sure you couldn’t want for anything else to make you comfortable. I hope I will have the chance to book again as the barn is a fabulous place to have a holiday!

  • "The barn is superb however the listing does not explain that the courtyard garden is shared with another property."

Sadly the other property had some maintenance work carried out at 8 am on one morning of our stay disturbing our sleep. Disappointed that the owner felt it was more important to get the other property ready for the new tenants rather than make our holiday perfect

I am very sorry to read this review but do feel the need to respond - firstly you did not have to share the courtyard with the other property as the other property has its own decking and garden. Secondly I do apologise that an electrician arrived next door unexpectedly and I did ask you face to face if you would prefer him to go away and you agreed he could continue! we have been providing 5star holiday accomadation for 14 years and pride ourselves on the service we provide.I feel your 4 star rating to be unreasonable. It was great to have such a well equipped kitchen in which cooking for everyone was a joy. The owner was very friendly and helpful and made sure everything was OK for us. We will be back!

  • "We were five adults staying for three nights."

This is lovely property in a rural location. There is plenty at the property to keep you occupied, with a games room containing many indoor and outdoor games. A vast amount of music CDs and DVDs on offer. The property was clearly converted to a high standard and contained all that you require to cook. Given we stayed in December, although it was not freezing outside the property was plenty warm enough and had been decorated nicely for the festive season. Thank you so much, we had a great time.

  • "A wonderful property for a family gathering ."

Really spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Dog walks from the front door. The photographs do not do it justice! Teenagers well catered for in the games room. David was very welcoming and on hand for any questions or assistance. Make sure you provision before you arrive as there is not a shop locally but do not let this put you off - a gem in the Suffolk countryside. Thank you

Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad you appreciated our Barn and so glad we ticked the boxes for the teenagers - hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely spacious barn."

Loved the en suite bathrooms and all the great games provided for the children. Plenty of space for our party of 5 and our dog. The games room was fantastic for families. Comfy duvets and beds. Hosts were fantastic helping arrange a casserole from the local pub on arrival as well as lots of help as we were stuck in the floods! A few small things just to be helpful for the future, not criticisms: foil in the kitchen would be useful, as would anti bac spray (without bleach as didn’t want to damage surfaces!) to give things a wipe down. A pint of milk in the fridge on arrival would be appreciated as shop was a drive away- not walkable. (Wine appreciated but not necessary in our opinion!)

Thank you Phoebe for your feedback, I have to say that I am disappointed that you have marked us down as we did all we could to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including looking after your family when you got stuck in the floods. Im sure you must be aware that had you needed anything from kitchen foil to milk (which by the way I provided to your mother whilst you were stuck in the floods) we would have provided it for you. We have been providing 5star self catering accommodation for 14 years and as you can see by our reviews we are not used to being marked down. Property Owner

About the location

FRAMLINGHAM

Saxmundham 7.5 miles; Aldeburgh 14 miles; Southwold 20 miles

The beautiful market town of Framlingham is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and has been known since Anglo Saxon times, when it consisted of several manors which William the Conqueror (1066-1087) presented to Roger Bigod. The town is of particular interest as it has a large castle and mere which was built between 1190 and 1210. The town is surrounded by lovely villages to explore and has two of the oldest working post boxes and one of Britain’s smallest houses, with the footprint measuring 6.1x2.2m! Today, the town offers a number of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and it is also home to Framlingham Summer Arts Festival.
