Our first time visiting this area and we found Peggotty's location ideal for exploring the Suffolk coast all the way from Lowestoft down to Sutton Hoo, as well as being handy for supermarkets in Saxmundham.

The cottage was comfortable and very well equipped, with loads of information about the local area. We did not use the second bedroom, but noted that access to it was very steep and we wouldn't consider it suitable for younger children or anyone with mobility issues. We would be happy to stay here again if we return to this area.

Peggotty’s is a clean, quaint and quirky cottage, we had a really enjoyable stay and the owners had thought of everything to make it a home from home, every utensil and appliance you could need was supplied in the kitchen.

The bed was very comfortable and an excellent shower in the bathroom. Also a great supply of books on local history and maps galore of places to visit and walks to go on. Easy parking right outside the front door and a very quiet area made for an even better stay. Also appreciated the biscuits, milk and chocolates left for us. All in all a great place for a holiday and highly recommended. Many thanks to the owners for a lovely holiday in Peggottys.

It’s clear that a lot of effort has been put into this as a holiday cottage.

Everything you need in the kitchen, comfortable lounge, great shower in the bathroom and comfortable bedroom. The secret garden is wonderful, lovely to have a cuppa there after a long day walking. Hard to criticise anything, a lovely cottage in a quiet area but only a short drive to so many wonderful places. What I think sets us apart from other properties I’ve stayed at are the bits that help you get the most out of your holiday. It was our first visit to the area and I’d have to say the location was perfect as a base to explore a different town or area each day. The huge number of maps, leaflets and walks were so useful - we had ideas of where to go but used the leaflets that had walks in them to really explore the town. Also a huge collection of books and DVDs for any rainy days. We left yesterday saying it’s possibly the nicest part of the country we’ve visited and would certainly visit again. Thank you for a wonderful week in lovely Suffolk.
