We had a fantastic stay at Oak Cottage!

Somerleyton is a lovely village, the station came in handy for some of the party to get around! The Dukes Head is a lovely pub, very welcoming. We didn’t eat here but the food looked lovely. I feel a few of the niggles mentioned in earlier reviews have unfortunately still not been addressed. The bedroom next to master, the bed is incredibly uncomfortable. The party member had to sleep somewhere else after the first night. None of us slept particularly well, the beds aren’t great. The bottom shower you cannot get the temperature right. A couple of the party tried!! So, this shower was then unusable. The cottage itself has been beautifully designed and has everything you need! The larder was fab with all the commodities you needed. The cleaning does let the cottage down! A spring clean needed every now and then!

We first stayed in Oak Cottage in October 2024 and loved it so much we decided to come back.

It's as beautiful as we remembered. Cosy, home from home, beautifully decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard. Has everything you need, and more, including a gym and a tabletop games console! Great location in a beautiful village (with a great pub in walking distance). Close to amenities and a short drive to the beach (perfect for the pups!). I can't fault this property.

Great property, excellently renovated and stocked.

Nice outside areas and gym. Nice and quiet relaxed location. However we had a few issues : downstairs shower was unusable during entire stay due to inability to control temperature. This made is less than ideal as we had to share with others (slowed morning getting ready etc). Reported but unable to fix during stay. There was a couple of leaks, one from the right hand kitchen sink which flooded the cutlery drawer and we had to rewash everything. This was fixed after reporting. Another from the upstairs bathroom which the cause of wasn't found. Bedroom furthest away to the right upstairs has an incredibly creaky bedframe which made it hard for some of our party to sleep. Some areas quite dusty/not cleaned recently (kitchen windowsill near sink being one). Overall good but could be better
