Southwold Arms Apartment

We had a really lovely week away here as a family of 4.

The apartment was clean and well stocked with everything we needed ,there was plenty of good quality towels and the beds were comfortable . The little touches of the children’s books ,and the basket of toys were welcome . Just to note the TV is not a smart tv ,so after our children were in bed we chose from the large array of DVDs in the drawer instead of logging into Netflix! There was plenty to watch though, both for adults and children so this caused no issue for us. When we arrived one of the toilets was blocked ,I reported this through the app at 4pm , a lovely plumber arrived and sorted it within an hour -fantastic service ! We will definitely return here next year and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others . Thank you

Gorgeous apartment - spacious and comfortable with a high quality finish.

In a fantastic location - am sure we will be returning! We had a great stay. Just a couple of small items of feedback: Light by front door seems to function intermittently- not sure if it is supposed to be motion activated but if so this does not consistently work. If lights are off in the flat it’s very dark and difficult to tell if you’re at bottom of stairs or not. Also, an unpleasant smell by front door. I suspect it is the damp/dirty mop stored there. Not a great first impression! It would also be helpful to have small tables next to sofas for drinks.

Absolutely super apartment, surpassed expectations, great location , quiet, well equipped and clean.

Just a perfect spot to enjoy Southwold.

The extractor fan in the en-suite was very noisy and the lighting was dull.

Also the mugs were worn out and very utilitarian. Apart from these minor things, the Southwold Arms was an excellent venue and we would recommend it to others. This is our second year of booking this property.

Lovely apartment with lots of space.

Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. We found it lovely and warm and quiet. Great location and found free parking a 5 minute walk away. The hall way bottom light only seems to work when the shop below is open -maybe it is on the same electrical circuit. Other than that perfect property for us and our family.

A lovely well-appointed apartment in an excellent location right in the centre of Southwold.

No onsite parking but with a free car park just 5 minutes walk away this is not a problem. There were just the two of us but the apartment would be perfectly comfortable for four adults and would be ideal for a family.

We had a great holiday, the apartment was clean and very comfortable, it had everything we needed.

I would use Skyes Cottages again and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends.

Although the flat was of a generally acceptable standard, attention to detail was lacking: Soiled and grubby mattress and pillow protectors.

Defunct entrance/vestibule lighting and defunct stairwell lighting, making entry after dark difficult. Defunct main bathroom extractor fan Defunct kitchen radio One kitchen ceiling light defunct Entrance/stairway shabby carpet and badly chipped paintwork

Really great apartment and location excellent!

Fantastic with children and all amenities were there. Only downside was having to strip the beds and take out the rubbish at the end which was slightly odd in my opinion.

...2nd stay here. Great location as right on High St. Very clean and comfortable As several people have previously mentioned, clothes hanging space in double room could be improved as there is room for clothes hanger as in twin room

We had a lovely stay at the Southwold Arms apartment - our first little getaway with our baby daughter.

We have stayed at the apartment before and knew it was in a great location and is very well appointed. Everything is clean and there is everything you could need for a great self catering stay. We would definitely recommend it!

Our second visit and apartment just as we remembered last year.

As other guests have noted the main bedroom needs a hanging rail and a chair for clothes. This did not bother us as there were only 2 us us but would be a problem if the second bedroom was in use. We love Southwold and this apartment fits our needs perfectly

Great apartment in a good location, bang in the centre of Southwold.

Close to amenities, beach, cafes & supermarkets. The downside to this is the parking is tricky even in October, not crucial but something to be aware of. The main bedroom would benefit from a wardrobe or hanging space or some sort. It was spotlessly clean and very spacious. I would definitely recommend

Conveniently located and spacious apartment.

Rather chilly on arrival at 4pm and apartment took a while to warm up. Heating instructions say ‘heating is controlled by the owners’ - rather impractical when they do not your requirements & no instructions to override the system. Kitchen very well equipped. Double bedroom would benefit from a clothes hanging rail/wardrobe and coat hangers in both bedrooms are needed. Apart from that would recommend.

We have stayed in this property previously and love the location and the facilities offered at the apartment.

We have one or two niggles this time. The outer door has always had a faulty handle and this can be annoying. On a minor note, we have previously received a small gift of wine and biscuits on arrival. For the price paid it appears penny pinching to discontinue this. On a more positive note, we stayed for nearly two weeks and the housekeepers did an excellent job in cleaning at the halfway date.

Perfect location and spacious set up. Lovely decor. Well equipped. Only small comment was it did get a bit chilly in the evenings and it would have been nice to have had the heating on. Would definitely like to return.

Second time in this property and we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay again.

The only comment that I would make is that the carpet on the stairs needs attention and the stair well painting. Otherwise the apartment is spacious and well appointed.

Dropped a point as floors looked clean but we’re not Dropped a point for facilities and Maintenance due to - no tongs for cooking and no heating on arrival - heating was sorted after a phone call.

The duvet was too thick for us but appreciate that for most it would be ok Didn’t like being told to strip beds when being on holiday Overall we loved the apartment and hopefully will return. We have been to Southwold many times but this was our first winter trip and first return for several years
