1 The Gardens

We found the Gardens to have everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant.

The road outside is quite busy and on weekdays you can hear commuter traffic, however, the bed in the smaller bedroom at the front was so comfy I had no trouble sleeping. As we were there during the hottest week of the year so far, the fans and air conditioning unit were much appreciated. The garden was lovely to relax in as the days cooled off. Excellent location for much Suffolk has to offer and the house was beautifully clean and very well equipped.

As regular visitors to Suffolk, we just wish we had discovered No 1 The Gardens sooner.

We stayed for two weeks and found our accommodation to be most excellent in every way. Thank you, Linda, for the obvious care you have taken to provide such a comfortable ‘home from home’. Thank you too for the welcome pack which we found very agreeable. Preferring to ‘eat out’ when on our travels, the location is well suited for short drives to several fine (dog friendly) village pubs, each offering splendid meals. We sampled five during our fortnight. Old Newton is also convenient for trips to all main the Suffolk towns and the coast. Whilst more frequently, our holiday accommodation has a rural setting, we were pleased to find that the road outside this property presented no noise issues to disturb our enjoyment, but did allow us quick access to set off in any direction to that day’s chosen destination. If new to the area, we recommend a visit to Bury St Edmunds with its fascinating history and magnificent Abbey Gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this comfortable and very well-equipped property and we would return without hesitation.

The house had every amenity you could want, especially in the kitchen. Owner Linda left us a great welcome pack. Which was very much appreciated. We had a couple of meals from the nearby Chinese Takeaway. Would definitely recommend this lovely accommodation

We plumped for this property based on accommodation suited to three of us and proximity to a variety of Suffolk locations we hoped to visit not having stayed in Suffolk previously…we have not been disappointed.

Communications have been good all round. The facilities at the cottage were homely and Linda had thought of everything for a weeks break. I enjoyed evening sunshine with a glass of wine in the pretty garden . Relaxing was just what we hoped for. Parking was easy on site.

First point said local pub actually it's now a Chinese takeaway!

!! Second point no leaflets on place of interest instead a download on app!!! No suitable for everyone (been with Skyes 10years plus always leaflets) Other then that its a lovely house and very comfortable credit to the owners We felt very at home

The welcome pack was excellent and very much appreciated. There are plenty of walks around the village for walking the dog, the cottage is also an excellent base for exploring Suffolk, we enjoyed visiting Ickworth and the coast at Aldeburgh.

Holiday property was like a home from home, clean comfortable and very well equipped with everything you would need and more.

The position was very convenient for travelling to the most interesting places in the vicinity although the village itself was not particularly interesting. All kitchen utensils needed were provided and of good quality. Convenient situation for visiting lots of gardens, Stately homes and museums such as at Lavenham, Sudbury and Ely.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay along with our dog, enjoying the sun room and nearby recreational ground. It's a great base for exploring the county and we particularly enjoyed Framlingham and coastal villages such as Walberswick and Thorpeness.

Just back from a lovely 7 day break.

Very clean, modern and comfortable house with fantastic garden. In centre of small Suffolk village. Some road noise but nothing significant. Some great countryside walks nearby and recommend visit to Sutton Hoo and Lavenham. Village shop and decent Chinese takeaway walking distance.

Excellent accommodation, spotlessly clean, with all the facilities you could need.

Also, a very well equipped kitchen with all the necessary utensils. A lovely private garden, secure parking. Many places of interest to visit in the surrounding area.

The little conservatory is blissful at the end of a busy day. If we are in the area we shall return Tracy Gosden.

The property was not available for my last trip to the area so I had to stay somewhere else.

The result was that I think I am better postponing my visits than going elsewhere. This time the guests were my Grandson and Grandaughter who also loved it as much as I do. I cannot recommend it enough.

I have stayed there three times this year.

It is well equipped and comfortable both inside and the garden. The owners pay great attention to detail and the cottage is always clean and welcoming.

This has to be the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in.

It is absolutely beautiful! Everything you need is there and it is all thoughtfully and tastefully arranged. It just felt like home ftom home. The garden is lovely too. Clearly well maintained with lovely garden furniture. The conservatory is also a big bonus with 2 very large and comfy cane rocking chairs! Linda left us a lovely welcome pack of wine, cookies, enormous scones, butter, milk and savoury snacks. How amazing! Then we found that there was tea, coffee and sugar in the canisters too! The kitchen is spotless with a wide range of cooking equipment. The bathrooms were absolutely spotless too with good quality towels and complementary soap and shampoo. Plus plenty of extra loo roll and cleaning stuff in lovely baskets. I could go on and on about this place it was so impressive! We will be definitely book it again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We had a lovey week, the house had everything we needed (and more).

It was lovely to sit in the conservatory when we got back from our days out, looking out on the beautiful well kept garden. If it was warmer, the garden would be lovely to sit out and perhaps use the bbq etc. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated and the owners were very helpful.
