Lovely, quiet house at the end of the village close to the sea.

House is compact, cosy, well-equipped and very clean. Nice to have a garden too. Coffee shop in the village was open six days a week and friendly; Star Inn a short walk along a footpath next to the house. Great base for sight seeing with the train so close. We had a great stay.

A lovely comfortable cottage although it took time for me, as a tall person, to get used to the low beams.

Between the bathroom and the kitchen and at the bottom of the stairs. Accessing the single bedroom from the stairs took a while to get used to as well. But overall we found the cottage ideal for what we wanted and were sorry that we had only booked the three nights. We can certainly see ourselves returning again.

A wonderful stay in the cottage.

Warm and cosy. I have mobility issues but stairs to the main bedroom were fine. The kitchen had everything you need, listening to the radio in the morning and doing puzzles on the table in front of the window with a beautiful view of the sea. Taking a chair provided and sitting in the sun and on the beach with a cup of tea. Sitting by a cosy fire. Train station just up the road where you can absolutely anywhere to. Absolutely just what we needed.

My sister and I spent 4 nights at this charming old cottage.

It was warm, clean and comfortable, and well-equipped, although we struggled with the controls for the shower. The awkward doorway to the twin bedroom presented no problems, just needed a bit of care. Parking was easy, the situation is peaceful (certainly in March), and the shingle beach is just in front of the cottages, separated by a row of beach huts. Lots of places within easy reach by car or train. We went to Wilmington, Charleston Farmhouse, Bexhill, Batemans, and - the real gem - Michelham Priory.

This is a lovely cottage with great easy access to the beach.

It provided everything we expected and plenty of interesting sites to visit within an hours drive.

This was our fourth visit to 2 Seaview Cottages.

It is a perfect location for a retreat - cosy and quiet. However, we felt this time that the cottage was in need of a general deep clean and that some of the furniture/fittings would benefit from being refreshed. Foe example, the sofas are past their best, bathroom was very cold as radiator not working and the kitchen utensils were a bit grubby which meant we had to wash items before use. [A dishwasher might be helpful here as I guess servicing staff don't get a chance to check everything]

Very cold weather but the cottage was really cozy, especially with the log burner lit in the evenings

The cottage was warm, comfy and had everything we needed.

It was wonderful to be so close to the sea. The hosts were brilliant at communicating with us before our stay. We enjoyed the space, and exploring the local area. Great having a train station 5mins walk, and wonderful to to be able to walk by the sea before breakfast. Thank you.

Lovely cottage for a getaway break.

...nice decor and comfortable... BUT a very noisy boiler with an ancient timer with no instructions (it took 6 days to work out how to operate the central heating properly)...the fridge and freezer were both again very noisy....and the double oven use suffered again from a lack of user friendly instructions, making cooking stressful.....all in all a holiday spent working out how things work when we should be relaxing....

Kingsize bed was very comfortable, slept really well. Height of ceilings was not a problem, even though Hubby is 6' 3", you just need to be aware. Loved lying in bed at night with the window open, listening to the sea. Hope to return

Perfect location, Stunning views, house came with everything that u needed and more.

Will definitely stay here again as great base for visiting attractions.Luxury of parking with home or jumping on local train at end of road.Friendly locals, local Pub and not far from local shops and restaurants.Never slept so well as beds so comfortable and children didn’t want to leave and such a fantastic location.

The Fisherman’s Cottage makes a perfect winter weekend getaway from London, there’s a direct train to Norman’s Bay in under 2 hours, and it’s a short walk to the cottage.

The cottage itself was really cosy, recently decorated with lovely soft carpets and a roaring open fire (beautiful, but even without was toasty from the central heating). I happily listened to a storm raging out over the sea in the middle of the night from under the fluffy duvet, and sunlight flooded through the windows looking out to sea in the morning. No need to take masses of provisions down either, as there is a short walk across a field to the Star Inn for dinner, or a couple of miles along the beach to the Cooden Beach Hotel with a bigger menu, and after a large glass of wine, we got the train back! Hard to imagine anywhere more relaxing.

Loved Fisherman's cottage.

It's a really sweet cottage in a quiet relaxing area. Stayed for a few days in January but was lucky with the weather. Walking on the beach 50 yds away and watching the sunrise was lovely. It's: comfortably furnished, nicely decorated, well equipped kitchen, lovely comfy beds and bedding, wood burning stove, sweet garden ( partially shared with next door) and parking. It is a 5 mins walk to the train station which was great as it's so nice not to have to use the car and surprisingly cheap fares to Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes, Brighton. This is a very quiet area with a pub serving food a 10 min walk across the fields or a few minutes drive. It's very dark at night in the street (no street lights) hence no light pollution which means you can see the stars...loved that! Great views of the beach from the double room, and listening to the waves at night was so relaxing. The owner was very helpful and was on hand to answer questions. The heating broke down but the owner quickly brought over a heater whilst he sorted the heating out. If you want to chill then this is the place.

Recommended to anyone who wants to be very near to the beach, and peaceful, cosy retreat for couples, will be trying to book again, even the weather didn't let us down.

We had a wonderful time in this well appointed period cottage.

Weather wasn't the greatest but Normans bay is perfectly situated for days out in the car or by train. We will definitely return!

An incredible cottage, the owners were so accommodating and were easy to reach out to if questions needed answering etc.

. the cottage has recently been refurbished and had every amenity imaginable. The wood burner was an excellent addition and made the winter nights cosy and comfortable. Fisherman’s Cottage is certainly a great escape from city life and with a train station 5mins away you have access too all the local coastal towns for an adventurous trip away. My advice if you are venturing there without a car, order in a supermarket food delivery the night you arrive.

It was an ideal getaway for us.

A very comfortable and cosy cottage by the sea.

We found the owner to be very helpful.

We all loved this quaint little cottage, the view from the front is just beautiful, we sat on the bed in the evening and watched a storm across the sea The owners are so friendly, just dropped in to check we had arrived safely, and were available to call at any time if we needed them.

... We didn’t , they had thought of everything, right down to milk for our tea! I’m sure we will be back , which let’s face it , is the best rating you can give anywhere!

in spite of my eight 6ft 4'' and areas of the property being on the low side a few taps an go places we had a wonderful time.

everything was provided if not it was only a phone call away. Bedding, towels everything was clean almost new, working as expected. The quirkiness of the building just added to its charm. recommended if you are under 6ft tall, also the 2nd bedroom with its entrance directly off of the stairs, not for unsupervised infants or even elderly persons. For me it was, more than, for self catering accommodation

If you are tall you learn to duck quite quickly between rooms. It was cleaned to a very high standard which is very important during a pandemic. Graham was there to meet us to offer us any further assistance . We hope to return, it's a lovely village if you want to get away for some peace and quiet.

Lovely cosy cottage, great location to discover the south coast.

Having the fire on when i arrived was so nice after a long wet drive arriving to a warm and toastie quaint cottage.

Graham was around and answers any questions etc and wood if needed. Beach /sea so close - it was so lovely to be able to in just 1 / 2 mins walk by the beach (boots are helpful as its shingles !) . All very quite only locals , just what I wanted and needed! Bed cosy and the view super in the early morning. Just what you need for a few days R&R off grid.

We have just returned from a lovely week at Fisherman's Cottage at Norman's Bay,the Cottage was Cosy and warm and very welcoming,very well equipped with everything you could possibly need,lovely views of the sea and friendly people, a really lovely surrounding areas to visit.

Our Host Graham was very welcoming and very help full nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely go back soon. Sheffield Park and Batemans which are National Trust are worth a visit. Once again Thank you to Graham.

Superb location in front of village green and shingle beach. Very well equipped, cosy and warm with log burner too.

We loved this little cottage.

.....small but had everything we needed and outlook and location was first class. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Needs to be clearer guidance about where to park.

Also water pressure in shower was very low. Other than that the cottage was great and we had a wonderful holiday.

this was our second visit to these charming cottages (we stayed next door last time) & we had yet another peaceful & restful holiday.

The proximity to the beach & the quirkiness of the cottage adds so much - the beds are so incredibly comfy, we slept like logs! We’ll definitely be back!

Normans bay is a very quiet and tranquil area although Eastbourne, Bexhill and other places are easily reached by road or rail.

The cottage is comfortable and well equipped with a pleasant garden. The owners are friendly and helpful. the stairs could be difficult to negotiate if there are any mobility issues.

We have just returned from our lovely week in fisherman’s cottage.

I would highly recommend if you are wanting/needing time to relax on a beach or in beautiful surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of busy towns or work. The beach is less than a minute away, it’s very clean and quiet. Fisherman’s cottage is very clean/modern and has everything you need and more. Graham went out of his way to get a high chair and travel cot for our 8 month old baby which meant I didn’t have to bring 2 cars to get everything in, which was a great help. Graham also welcomed us on arrival to make sure we was ok. The only downside is I’m 6ft tall and kept banging my head on the ceilings which my 5yr old son found hilarious. Thanks for everything Graham, We will be returning asap.

Beautiful cottage.

Ideally located which allowed wonderful views even on the wet and windy days! Very short walk to the beach;we walked alot along the coast.The log burner is such a bonus and major attraction;we made good use of it! This was our second visit and hope to come again!!

This is our third visit to Fisherman’s cottage.

Once again we enjoyed our stay - good facilities, comfortable accommodation, very homely, log burner is a huge bonus. The cottage is a 2 minute walk to the sea and it is delightful to take a walk along the beach.

Really liked this property.

Fantastic position with a clear view to the sea, responsive, pleasant and appropriately low-key owners, good parking, and Norman's Bay train station a 5 minute walk offering services East and West (we went on separate trips to Hastings and Brighton). Well-equipped and very comfortable. Beautifully quiet and restful.

Very comfortable beds , awesome cosy living room with roaring fire after walks along the coast , was just the ticket . Well equipped kitchen & nice garden out the back with table / chairs . Fab on a sunny evening , real sun trap . Graham the owner was great very helpful for anything you needed delivered on the same day ! Highly recommend

Little gem of a place.

Look out to sea from a lovely comfy bed. Get cosy by the log burner. Leave the car behind and enjoy some train rides. We loved it. ❤️

a quaint seaside cottage.

Very well equipped. Superbly close to the beach with a gorgeous view reminiscent of a vintage postcard. The area is not too far from amenities with a very short countryside walk to the pub. The only issue we had was with the roads in East Sussex. We've never seen so many potholes! Every road had them . Beware as many are quite large. Otherwise the area has lots of interesting places to visit.

Everything provided - cute little cottage - had a lovely time

The property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Things like handsoap and washing up liquid being provided was very useful, also " the light bulb drawer" was handy,we were able to replace a bulb with ease, during our stay. We would highly recommend this cottage, for many reasons! It was clean,tidy and homely when we arrived,and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A beautiful cottage, for anyone who wants a peaceful holiday to recharge their batteries then choose this little gem.

We had a wonderful two weeks here at Fisherman's Cottage.

Perfect setting to watch the weather, it's effect on the sea, listen to the waves through the open window and wander on the beach. A real sense of history with this cottage having been in Graham's family for years so fascinating. Watch out for the potholes but otherwise this place had everything we needed and is ideally situated with a huge amount to do close by. Thank you for such a lovely fortnight!

Really lovely cottage.

Cosy, except the twin bedroom which was a little chilly. Wonderful host. Great location. We will definitely hope to come back and explore some more castles and walk some more of the beautiful coastal paths. Couldn't recommend it more!

This was a lovely cottage with a fantastic location for the beach.

Graham was friendly and local if we needed anything. The instructions for lighting a real fire were spot on which meant we were able to enjoy a log fire each night. This will be on our return list.

Lovely clean and cosy cottage with sea view in a quiet location right by the sea.

Beds were super. Parking is easy just leave space for the neighbouring cottage on end. Low ceiling in kitchen for any plus six footers. Due to stairs and steps into kitchen, not suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet. Ideally located for shingle beach walks and a train station if you want to leave the car behind.

Seaview was a lovely quaint cottage.

Few minutes to beach.With pleasant views. Very peaceful just the break we needed. Bed very comfortable fresh bed linen with very nice furniture. Everything you needed in the kitchen.All Nice and clean and fresh.. Good wifi...Nice cosy stay....Nice to meet the owner's who were very helpful. .Heating very efficient only needed to be on half an our to warm up.. No welcome pack so don't forget milk etc.. Very cosy stay...

Lovely spotlessly clean cottage in a quiet location .

And very handy having a station in the village too . The only issue was you could hear very clearly people in the adjoining cottage . Felt like they were in the lounge with us sometimes . Luckily it wasn’t occupied all of our stay .

Peaceful location with easy access to the beach, which is wonderfully quiet.

Access to walks (there is a little footpath that takes straight to nice pub). The train station which links to Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton is walking distance. Good parking. Helpful owners. Really enjoyed my stay.

The property was very good for 2 people getting away for some peace and quiet providing that a member of the party is not over 6 foot 4 inches tall as the step down into the kitchen is low and also the access to the bedrooms.

However these 2 issues apart gave us no problems in the long run.

Property facilities were exactly as detailed in the brochure, well presented and high standard of cleanliness.

The area was very quiet , but so well served by the train service that we were able to make great use of and leave the car at the cottage most days, for both visits further afield and allowing more exploration on foot along the coastline.

his cottage is ideal for those wanting some peace & quiet & getting away from it all.

It is certainly remote but in an ideal place for beach walks. Bexhill & Eastbourne easy access. The cottage is well equipped & comfortable & well presented, with typical features for an older style property. Steep stairs & low ceiling points & downstairs WC all need to be highlighted for anyone with accessibility issues.

The cottage is beautiful in a lovely setting would definitely recommend to friends .

This was a fab cottage for us and we'd love to stay again in the future, so many thanks.

The central heating was generously set in the cold weather and we really appreciated that.Two minor points: the lock on the front door was really stiff and difficult to operate (my partner managed but I had difficulty ongoingly); secondly I was roasting in bed (beside the cupboard with the hot water tank in). The radiator was off and the windows open. What might have helped a little - 100% cotton bedlinen. Unusual not to find it provided (tho it was a fab design!)

Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and great to be able to light a fire on a cold February evening. Would definitely recommend to friends and hope to return.
