This cottage is an ideal holiday spot with a fascinating history.

Its beachfront location is a significant bonus. I enjoy strolling along the promenade, which is perfect for runners and filled with friendly, welcoming people. The cottage owner is very courteous and helpful; whenever I needed assistance, he responded promptly to ensure my stay was comfortable. Numerous cafes line the promenade, offering a variety of options. It was a wonderful experience, and at times, it felt like I was in the Mediterranean, gazing at the sea and sailing boats in the distance. I am already looking forward to returning next year to stay at the cottage.

We found this a perfect place to stay for 4 adults and 2 small dogs.

Parking was free outside the house and all of Eastbourn's attractions were only a short walk away, with the promenade and beach just across the road. The living room is a little snug, which we expected but the kitchen makes up for it with table and chairs for 4 to sit and eat at. The small courtyard was secure so the dogs could be let out without any worry. The bedrooms are spacious with the added bonus of an en-suite shower and wc to the rear bedroom. The friendly owner lives nearby, so can give any assistance if required.

Stayed for three nights and it was exactly right for us.

I was worried about parking, but it really wasn't a problem on Marine Parade. The owner was helpful and obviously engaged. The only reason I've marked slightly down for maintainable was because it rained and the gutters didn't quite cope. The paddling pool in the back yard didn't last long though. The owner had been very quick to remedy a problem raised by previous visitors. We loved it.
