Key Box difficult to open.

1) Automatic lighting on main staircase not very good, especially on the second flight of stairs. The light does not come on until you are near the top of the stairs, as a result you are in total darkness when you begin ascending the stairs. This is very dangerous especially if you are carrying anything. (suitcase or shopping bag) 2) The 3rd flight of stairs does not have a “HANDRAIL”, & because they are quite steep is very dangerous. 3) Both of the above contravenes UK Building Regulations 4) There was no DVD Player or selection of DVD,s I had brought a selection of my own DVD,s which I could not watch. 5) The TV reception was very intermitant, the picture would freeze with no sound, then the screen would go blank. It would come back on again after turning it off & back on after 30 mins. 6) The apartment was quit dirty as follows:- a) Dust on the back of the panel doors especially the bathroom & bedroom doors. b) Dust on the top of the architraves & the plinth blocks at the base of the architraves & tops of skirting boards. c) Dust on the bedside table lamps. d) Dirt & Grease on the cupboard units in the kitchen especially above the hob. e) The hob was dirty & covered in grease especially the control knobs. f) The oven was very dirty & greasy inside & out. g) The kettle was covered in grease. h) Dust on pipes under sink in bathroom & on pipes of radiator. i) Bottom of radiator very rusty. j) Waste outlet on wash basin rusty. k) Grab handles on bath very loose & discoloured

Lovely apartment with room to spread out.

It was well-equipped with a kitchenette featuring microwave, cooker, toaster, fridge, dish washer and washing machine. The only thing missing was an airfryer. We loved the quiet aspect of the apartment, on the top floor. The bed was comfortable, the bath and shower were wonderful with instant hot water. The sofa was great to relax on during the evening. The apartment is in a central spot to visit so much of the Badenoch region. We visited Kinguisse, Aviemore, Loch Garten, the Laggan area and the Highland Wildlife Park. And we also did many enjoyable local walks. Our final day was in 25C heat and, as the apartment was on the top floor, the nighttime temperature barely fell below the daytime peak, which made sleeping a challenge - hot nights are not something you'd expect too often so far north! Perhaps a portable fan could be a future addition. All in all, a very pleasurable break. Highly recommended.

The apartment, was clean, cosy and warm.

Water was hot and plentiful. Apartment was great for the two of us. Parking easy, details of where to find the key, were needed but clear and in the key pick up info, you do need a light in the winder. Very quiet and the village has all you need for a short stay,

Another great stay at the apartment, easy commute or short walk for the mountains and the snow, only a short walk for a beer at nights, hopefully I will be back soon.

We had a really great stay at 10 Monarch Country Apartments and the location in Newtonmore was perfect.

The apartment was cosy and had everything we needed. There was plenty to do - good walking, interesting Clan Macpherson museum and the wonderful folk museum AND it is all free! This is certainly a property that we would have no hesitation in staying at again.

This is my second stay, it’s is a great flat perfect for my needs and I will be staying again.

A delightful top floor apartment!

Clean and well maintained. It contained everything we needed for our stay. Great location for exploring the Cairngorms National Park. The only thing that would have made our stay even better is an electric fan as it was a particularly hot week and it did get hot up in the roof. However, we were grateful to have such good weather for our holiday! Thanks for a great week!

We really enjoyed our stay here.

Great base for walking, with Munros accessible in all directions. The apartment was comfortable and had everything you need to self cater. The Glen Hotel next door was great for dinner too. Just be aware that you will need to climb a lot of stairs to access the apartment

3rd stay at this holiday flat.

Really like it and very fond of the area. People sometimes complain there’s a long stairs ascent to it but without that you wouldn’t have the airy feel and be able to look out into tree tops! Excellent holiday thank you.

Great location in the heart of the Highlands, we really enjoyed our stay.

Sofa was stained and the mattress had lumps in it, springs were broken.

Everything was clean and accurate.

The only thing that was noticed by us which is worth mentioning is that the sofa wasn't clean, it was full of strains.

Great base, we wanted to hike and explore as much as possible.

This was the perfect location. Apartment was clean and tidy, had everything we needed.

The flat was cold, the boiler needed to be repressurised.

Windows were draughty, misted due to condensation between panes & one could not be opened, (notice left to this effect).

The location was excellent,very quiet and peaceful located in a small villiage,if I were to be picky I would say there’s to many stairs, not so good if your elderly as the final flight of stairs are very narrow and steep and the bed was a little on the hard side.

There’s really only one grocery store in the villiage so be prepared to pay a little extra or load up with food before you arrive. We traveled 6 hours from Liverpool and I can honestly say we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks very much rick and Susan.

Lovely central location and easy to get to from main road - great to explore highlands and lovely quiet town with places to eat and shops - great apartment very clean and attentive host

This location and accommodation was the key factor in us having a great holiday in the circumstances of lockdown only just being lifted.

Lovely apartment in a building with character and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Excellent local walks including the Wildcat Trail , the Highland folk museum just down the road is well worth a visit as is the Glen Hotel (within 100m). Only issue is with the bed which is not that comfortable and very squeaky.

it was like home to home.

i think bed needs looking at (maybe new mattress) bit noisy. small freezer would be nice addition. its a nice clean apartment would stay again.

Excellent 3rd floor apartment which was very well furnished and equipped.

I must have read the initial information incorrectly prior to booking as I thought there was a working safe lift. In booking in info it was stated the lift was somewhat unreliable and were advised not to use it. As were many posters around the whole property.....Getting our suitcases to and from the apartment was very difficult for us both As I am getting on a bit ( age-wise) and suffer with COPD and Angina...I did find all the stairs very difficult. But I survived as did my Wife who also has a few health problems. We had a very pleasant stay in Newtonmore and enjoyed the local Glen Hotel for Food.

A great apartment for a couple.

Comfy bed, decent sized bedroom, nice bathroom, good eating arrangements, quiet and peaceful, very clean. It was a great base for walking locally and further afield in the Cairngorms. Plenty of space to hang wet waterproofs and leave boots just outside the apartment. Kitchen area adequate, maybe could do with a bit more equipment and small plates. Also the bed was a bit squeaky but these are just small niggles. We would definitely like to stay here again.

The apartment is everything you could wish for.

We had an amazing time in this clean, comfortable and well equipped apartment.

Located not long way drive from every part of highlands you may wish to visit and village has many lovely coffee shops, restaurants, post office, garage and other services. Highly recommended!! Thank you!!

Just note that the double bed in this flat has a terrible squeak which meant that sleep was disturbed.

Practical private parking. Great comfortable apartment suitable for couples/ families.

In the kitchen, perhaps some small welcome pack or essential items, such as salt and pepper, oil for cooking etc

Unfortunately the elevator was broken, it was difficult with heavy luggages .

. No hair dryer and no shower hose, liked the vintage aspect but really not practical.. But nice apartment, well situated and quiet place

This property is perfectly located in Newtonmore near the intersection of the A86 and the A9 which makes it perfect for day trips into the Scottish highlands and out to the Isle of Skye by car.

It is perfectly set up for a couple to spend a week or two exploring northern Scotland. A family with a child could use the flat as well but there is only one bedroom so the child would have the option of sleeping on the couch in the living room (which is very comfortable) or on the futon in the bedroom with the parents. There was a baby crib in the bedroom closet that could be set up in the bedroom for an infant. The flat was very bright, exceptionally clean and everything worked perfectly. The owners were very easy to deal with as well. There is parking for a car in the parking lot right in front of the building off the street. Although the building is on the main street, the unit faces out the rear of the building so there was never any traffic noise at all. This unit is on the top floor of the building so we never heard any noise from any of the neighbors either. There is a lift up to the second floor but to get to this flat you need to climb one flight of stairs from there so this place may not be suitable for the very elderly or anyone who has difficulty with stairs. There are several pubs in Newtonmore, a small grocery store and a gas station which made preparing for our day trips very convenient. My wife and I looked at several dozen places before booking this place. We both agreed that this flat was by far the best value for the money of any of the places that we looked at and that we would recommend this place to family and friends.
