Coorie Doon

Good location, nice wee sunny garden, close to beach, park, harbour.

Only very slight drawback is having enter bedroom 2 via bedroom 1. Rest of house is excellent.

The property was ideal for us, offering the level of accommodation and space that made our stay memorable.

Well equipped with plenty of storage if needed. Sometimes doors required some thought and yes the bathroom opening did catch us out! Stairs are steep and narrow but not too much of a problem, unless you have mobility issues. Having an outdoor space that’s useable is such a bonus. Also being set back from the road is nice , as it makes the house so private. Plus the area is so quiet and relaxing. The thermos flask is not the best at holding hot water, so a replacement might be considered in future. What we loved about the stay was how helpful the owners were, particularly in terms of passing on their local knowledge, so useful. Towels welcome, but a little hard. For some the drawback of the property will be the lack of off street parking, but there is ample on street parking. However, if you’re anything like the neighbours we had during our stay, they would only park adjacent the property. But be assured there is safer parking just 30 yards from the house on the adjacent street. All in all we loved the area, the property and our stay.

Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und wir haben in den Betten sehr bequem geschlafen. Das ehemalige Fischerhäuschen liegt in Fischertown und befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Strand. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Vielen Dank auch an Paul für die wundervolle Betreuung, er war jederzeit für uns erreichbar.

We were happy to find everything as we had expected and hoped for, the house is comfortable, clean and well equipped, the owner friendly and helpful.

The stairs to the upper floor offered some challenge to my knees... but that was more or less like my own stairs at home.

It was a great cosy cottage which felt like home.

We were comfortable and had everything we needed, and more, during our stay. The location was ideal, in town, within walking distances from the beautiful sandy beach and shops. We’d highly recommend Coorie Doon for couples who’d like a quiet week away to relax and enjoy long beach walks.

Corrie Doon is very cosy and characterful property which was perfect for our November holiday in Nairn.

The location enables easy access to the beach and the town centre, yet is in a very quiet area, so perfect for relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay. After a day exploring it was lovely to sit in front of the wood burner. There's a well maintained and spacious patio with outdoor furniture which would be nice in the summer. Hopefully we'll be back again soon!

On arrival we discovered that due to the steepness and winding stairs, we would be unable to go up or down due to us having mobility problems.

The owners suggested solution was to put a sofa bed in the living room which was not acceptable to us as we would need to fold this away each morning and reset it at night. As a result we did not stay at the cottage. The property made no mention of the difficulty with the stairs for a person(s) with mobility problems. We are therefore financially out of pocket with no holiday. I would not recommend thus cottage.

Excellent location, 5 minutes to beach and 10 minutes to town centre.

Paul the host was a great communicator and provided the cottage with everything. The store cupboard with spices and herbs was great as was the amount of kitchen equipment and lovely crockery too. I’ve stayed in quite a lot of cottages and Airbnb but this has been my favourite. Both my husband and daughter loved it too and we will definitely be going back.

An excellent holiday cottage - comfortable, well-equipped and well-maintained, in a quiet location.

The owner has thoughtfully provided clear instructions and information plus lots of interesting books and films. One thing that would have been helpful was an explanation of the unusual way properties are numbered in Society Street, with a clear diagram. It took us a while to find it, and the supermarket delivery man had the same problem.

Coorie Doon proved to be a very comfortable and well equipped cottage (especially the bed).

Ideally situated to enjoy the stunningly beautiful Moray Firth coastline it was also positioned to enjoy the peaceful location of Fishertown. The welcome pack was just a small part of Paul’s consideration for his guests, not intrusive but ensuring the comfort of our stay. While we weren’t able to use the garden area because of the time of year, it appeared to us to be perfect for relaxing at any time. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday. Teresa March 2024

My husband and I had a lovely comfortable stay in Coorie Doon.

The cottage is well equipped and very homely. The log burner in the sitting room was a real plus as Nairn was pretty chilly in mid November! The location is fantastic and literally only two minutes walk to the beach. We had some great meals out at Ozzy's restaurant (recommend by the owners). We didn't have a car with us and found plenty to do and see, walking and taking public transport from the cottage. Very happy to recommend it. Polly and Lindsay

Stayed one month.

Attentive hosts - communicated before and during stay as needed - even shared a bottle of red with us. Hosts provided insight into activities we might consider including hooking us up with eBike rental (GreenHive). Cottage was perfect - quiet, comfortable, and practical. Didn't want to leave and would definitely go back!

We really enjoyed our stay in Nairn and it was great to come back to this cosy home each day. The bed was very comfy all facilities in great order. The owner left some basic essentials and wine and cookies, which were much appreciated. We would be happy to stay in Coorie Doon again in the future.

A thoroughly enjoyable week at Corrie Doon, we had lots of recommendations from the owner including walks and places to visit but a week is too short to try them all.

The cottage really is warm and welcoming, a Lovely location right near the sea and the walks along the beach are breathtaking.

The cottage itself is well equipped and there were some biscuits , milk, tea, coffee and sugar waiting for us on our arrival and not forgetting a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. The owner had left a brief history about the cottage which was great and interesting and it was lovely to see that some of its history had been kept but mixed with modern touches which didn’t spoil it. Lovely cottage, perfect for five and a great location for the high street and the beach.

Coorie Doon was an excellent base to explore the NE of Scotland.

The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owner contacted me twice before our visit to share helpful local information and how to access the keys, and was open to being contacted during our stay. My elderly father accompanied us on our holiday and found the downstairs bedroom and bathroom very helpful.

What an absolute joy it was to spend time in this beautiful and comfortable cottage in Nairn.

We ate and relaxed in the lovely, private yarden and swan in the sea at midnight. The cottage has everything you could ever need for a wonderful break ‘home from home’. It’s a great central spot to travel from and investigate the beautiful surrounding area.

Coorie Doon was warm, comfortable and the perfect place to come back to after a day out. It's in a great location, tucked away, but just a short walk to Nairn's town centre, numerous eating places and beautiful beaches. Every day began or ended with a walk along the promenade or along the sand with a pair of binoculars to appreciate the amazing birdlife and one one occasion, even seals and dolphins. We loved the cottage, the area, and hope to return soon.

Property was so lovely and cosy for the time of year we stayed, so close to Nairn beach and short walk only to town.

You can see the Garden would be beautiful in spring/summer. Property bed upstaors was extremely comfortable, my husband generally doesn't sleep good but did so while staying at Coorie Doo. We loved the log fire and the roll top Bath - tip is to get logs from home bargains if open rather than petrol station as the latter were a bit too big and not as dry. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

The cottage was perfect.

Great location just a short stroll from the beach in the lovely town of Nairn. Paul, the owner, has added lots of little personal touches to make the cottage extra homely and it was a super cozy place to shelter from storm Arwen. We hope to return next year.

Cookie Doon, is an amazing cottage.

Everything you could possibly need and more. The most comfortable bed and pillows ever! We were cosy and warm. Situated in an equally amazing part of Nairn. Can’t recommend this cottage enough.

If you've a bit more time - Coorie Down is in a wonderful location barely 2 minutes walk from the beach, but also an easy short walk to Nairn's town centre. The owners have ensured guests will want for (almost) nothing, with a well appointed kitchen & a very comfortably furnished sitting room. The king sized bed was also hugely comfortable and the provided linen and towels felt luxurious. The wifi was also well up to the task, and for our arrival, the owners had left a small selection of welcome goodies to start us off. What stood out was the level of cleanliness throughout - the presentation of Coorie Down was, to our minds, exemplary. One minor issue surfaced during our stay, and owner Paul responded at once and ensured a replacement item was delivered the following day. Fantastic all round.

It's a really nice and cosy place close to the beach and with everything you need for a week stays.

Coorie Doon is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location.

Myself, 2 kids and my parents spent a wonderful, relaxing week there in October. The cottage, while being spacious, felt very cosy and comfortable. The downstairs bathroom has a big, freestanding bath and a very spacious shower. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. WiFi connectivity was excellent. The kids loved that we were only a 2 minute walk away from a lovely, sandy beach and enjoyed walking and playing there every day. Communication with the property owner was great and he provided lots of useful info. Nairn itself is a lovely town with a good collection of shops and we didn’t feel the need to wander much further afield. That said, if you did wish to do a bit of exploring, Nairn is perfectly placed for heading to the North East and North West. I’d highly recommend a stay at Coorie Doon!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Corrie Doon.

Relaxing cosy cottage, loved the original stone wall in the living room and log burner. The whole place was immaculately clean and very well maintained. Lovely and warm after cold and rainy days out. Although it is located in a town it was very quiet and peaceful in Fishertown and being able to walk to a beautiful white sandy beach helped tire out our 3 young boys. Great base for days out into the Cairngorms. We would stay here again in a minute.

The owner was very pleasant and helpful to deal with, thorough guidance an help provided.

They went above and beyond when asked for local recommendations. A lovely stay.

It id in a quaint part of the Town. The house was warm and the beds very comfortable. The owner was very good at getting in touch. We had a lovely time in this cottage

Cottage was lovely with everything we needed included. Beach was amazing and right on our doorstep and tons to do in the local area. Paul, the host, was excellent to deal with and answered any questions very promptly.

There is a lovely, private courtyard and the cottage is very well equipped. The owner provides lots of information on local walks and days out and goes above and beyond in making your stay comfortable. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Well situated in Nairn which is a great location from which to explore the highlands. Just a great holiday!

The cottage was ideal for us, of very high quality and comfort (the small, secluded garden being a perfect place to sit and read when the sun shone).

Despite being surrounded by houses it felt private, and was in an excellent location whether for long beach walks or heading up to the shops and the train station (20 minutes to Inverness). The owner provided all the information we could require, I felt confident that any issues would be swiftly resolved. We would return.

Lovely cosy cottage in a great wee street.

Lots of places to eat in Nairn, if, like me, you refuse to cook while on holiday. Especially enjoyed exploring the area, Fort Goerge is a must and the Highland Folk Musuem is one of the best sites I have ever visited! Would recommend staying here.

A few things would have improved experience.

Stairs steep and no rail on right to hold onto - difficult for elderly Mum to climb. Not enough towels. Apart from that well-equipped cosy cottage with lovely garden in quiet area near the beach.

We had a great time!

The weather was very good, so we could go to the lovely beach every day. The beach is quiet, clean and golden sand for kilometers. The house had his own history. That was very interisting. It was not far from the beach and a good place to start day trips to the highlands or other sightseeing tours. In Nairn are a lot restaurant or pubs. Our favourite was Jacko´s bar.

Very good location for both the sea and the town, easy walking distance.

Also a good centre for visiting the many interesting places within a short distance of Nairn. The property is as described and has every facility. The owner is especially solitcitous.

A nice small garden to sit in as well which is always a bonus. Location was great, ideal for the beach and for local restaurants. Would envisage returning at some point in the future.
