3 Whin Bank

We had a lovely week in this accommodation.

The cottage was well equipped, clean and well located for this area. Only a few miles from the bustle of Oban. The views from the dining room and the garden were fantastic, even on dull and rainy mornings.. The local pub served very good food. The host of this property was very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

We had a great stay and aim to go back.

Quiet location but handy for Oban or further afield although we found plenty to do locally. If it’s your thing, you can swim in the Sound directly from the back garden which I did daily, sometimes twice. Take swim shoes and avoid low tide as it’s muddy. The house itself was really well equipped with plenty of towels, loo rolls etc plus things like cling gum, foil, cleaning products etc. We didn’t need to light the fire but there was plenty of wood so perhaps that’s something to look forward to next time

Clean and welcoming and a great location.

But a lot of things need attention. No means to make coffee, no milk jug, no food processor or whisk, no hooks on any doors so wet coats and towels had to be draped over surfaces. A curtain rail fell down and had clearly been repaired badly previously. Single bed mattresses uncomfortable - they need toppers.

Great base for visiting Oban.

Warm and cosy cottage, with a great log burner. Good for local pubs and walks. Will definitely recommend.

I would highly recommend this property as a cheaper option than staying in Oban itself.

It was spotlessly clean, fully equipped, logs supplied for the wood burner as well as cosy central heating and the owners even left a welcome basket of goodies. The view from Whin Bank was stunning - a twitchers paradise overlooking the loch with constant wildlife and a deer which entered the garden from the trees opposite. A £2.85 return boat trip to Easdale from Ellenabeich is recommended ( 10 min drive from the house) as well as local walks and Oban 30 minutes away by car.

A beautiful and very well fitted out cottage providing all you need for a comfortable and peaceful break away.

Plenty of wildlife to spot either looking out over the Atlantic foreshore or from the hills around. A general store is a short drive away, next to a 9 hole golf course. A pub and restaurant is a short walk away (although shortened opening off-season) with another about a 15 minute drive. The owner of the cottage made us feel very welcome and was available to help if we needed any, which we didn’t! Happy to recommend.

I found Whin Back to be a fantastic property with breathtaking views.

It has a lovely homely feeling that made us feel very comfortable and relaxed making our getaway very special.

My 2nd visit to 3 Whinbank and I hope it wont be the last.

This was a family break.,(myself and 2 older teens 2 large breed dogs) Again wasnt disappointed. Had a little issue on the morning of new years eve, Woke up to no water, I contacted Julie the owners daughter, within 2 hours the problem was rectified. This is a beautiful property, all I would say is if you have young children or dogs dont let them in to the gardens unattended the garden they are not secure and open to the Sea/Loch. The area is beautiful and the neighbours i met are very helpful and friendly. Wont be long before my next trip to Whinbank. . Thankyou to Julie and her parents for making our stay so warm welcoming and comfortable. Whinbank is definatley "My Happy Place". . Highly recommend. .

The property is very well equipped clean warm and comfortable in a beautiful location . The rooms are of a good size, With everything you need plus more. I would highly recommend 3 Whin Bank, In fact I have booked to stay again later this month. Looking forward to my return visit to this home from home beautiful cottage.
