Another lovely week spent at this well presented, clean, comfortable & well equipped cottage with beautiful views.

Looking forward to returning.

Second time staying here such a beautiful, comfortable cottage.

Had an issue with the WiFi connection which was quickly resolved with the owner. We would be back next year but our dog is getting too old for the drive to mull. So we will see you again in the future.

This is a great well equipped and comfortable cottage Wonderful views and excellent location This our second visit to these cottages and will definitely be coming back

We had a lovely holiday at Poppies cottage.

It was a cold week and we appreciated coming back to a warm accommodation. This was our 3rd stay and was up to all expectations. Donald , the owner is very friendly and helpful. Thank you

Cottage in a perfect position - lovely views and easy access to other places.

My only negative comment is that the living room smelt of dogs especially the rug.

A wonderfully warm and comfortable home to return to after a day exploring the island.

Amazing!

We’ve stayed in a lot of cottages over the years around the country but this one is definitely on our favourites list. The views are stunning! The cottage itself has a fresh, airy feel to it, coupled with some beautiful unique pieces of furniture to help retain its charm. very spacious but also very cosy. Underfloor heating was always at a consistent temperature, never too hot or too cold. The bed was so comfortable, very welcoming after a long day exploring. Highly recommend Poppies cottage, would definitely go again!

Lovely cottage, with amazing view over the Loch.

Birds galore in the garden. Owner was very helpful and had thought a lot about his guests when building the accommodation. Would recommend this property.

We loved the cottage, it was located centrally in Mull, so were able to get to most places within an hour, the initial listing was correct, it took me a day to work out there wasn't a double oven but a built in microwave.

Everything you would need for a week away.

Fabulous, my only criticism is that the property is so spacious I kept getting lost!

Ideal as a base Cleaning could have been better but we just put things through the dish washer. Towels and bedding was clean and comfortable bed . Great bathroom. Overall a great stay

The cottage is in a great location for exploring the island, and has incredible views from the window, pictures really don't do it justice.

Unfortunately the cottage wasn't particularly clean upon arrival, and it is looking quite tired and in need of a bit of TLC. This wouldn't put us off returning as the location is really what makes it, but it would be nicer if it had had a deep clean and a bit of updating.

The property is in a great location with views out to sea.

The bed was very comfortable unfortunately the fixtures and fittings are looking dated and tired, the property could do with updating, decorating and a thorough clean. Before we could cook anything we had to put both of the baking trays, two small frying pans and the oven racks on a hot wash in the dish washer, they could try oven pride to clean the racking, there is a lack of work top space for food preparation. We had to wash the covers of the loose cushions on the settee as they were dirty and the bedroom carpet was covered in dog hair, I vacuumed it twice but it didn't remove it all. The shower cubical had hair in it. The wi-fi was a bit hit and miss, sometimes it was good other times there was no signal.

Lovely cosy cottage in great aspect.

It was far from being clean, poorly equipped with mismatched crockery and cutlery, and some of the saucepans were in poor condition. The fridge was very smelly, probably from a previous spillage, that had not been cleaned properly. The bathroom was very spacious, and could be improved by replacing the shower with a larger basic shower that does not require 3 pages of instructions to use it.

Ideal location for touring round Mull. I have stayed in one of these cottages before and would do so again.

The cottage is in a great location and the views spectacular.

It is cosy and spacious. Very good shower and sauna a bonus. However, the cleanliness and general state of the cottage let it down. Very unclean ovens, dishwasher fascia hanging off, rusting and cracking on fridge freezer, pedal bin in bathroom rusting and filthy, mismatched and chipped crockery, mismatched cutlery in a very unclean cutlery tray, discoloured bath mat to mention but a few. Bedding and towels, however, spotless. It is a real shame because when new, this cottage would have been perfect. The furniture is also more shabby than chic and the whole place would benefit from a deep clean and makeover.

Poppies cottage was the prefect place for us.

The view is just stunning and great to watch the sun rise and spot birds and animals from. It was home from home, clean, comfortable, quiet and peaceful. Well facilitated and maintained. We will book here again. 100% ideal.

Excellent two-week stay at Poppies cottage.

Views from the lounge window, of white eagles swooping over the Sound of Mull, Quiet situation and it was easy to travel from here to all parts of Mull. The cottage has every facility needed for a relaxing stay. It was good to meet the friendly owner. Mike and Helen.

Once again Poppies Cottage was amazing.

The view of the bay just relaxes us both after a very long drive, we could both look at it all day long, you get lost in it looking out for Fish Eagles, otters, seals and seeing the Fish Eagle was brilliant. The accommodation was perfect very clean and comfortable, the large bath is always a winning point. When your in the kitchen you have an amazing view up the mountain and the bedroom has a view over the bay as wellas a high patio window looking over the bay. Local area/Island never gets boring....you could get the bus or drive to waterfalls..... lighthouse with views that you could be anywhere in the world. We went to Iona the beaches were outstanding I have never seen such luxurious sand. The story behind the island is really beautiful. Driving back from Iona we saw a herd of red deer just relaxing in field, which is always cool. Leaving was really hard, I got emotional as I hate leaving!!! We will be back at some point, highly recommended

Lovely cottage, clean and in a super location.

Every comfort provided, amazing bathroom and very comfy bed. If i was really picky i would say a bread bin was needed but thats very picky of me.

Absolutely fantastic cottage.

Kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils and more. Shower was so luxurious with light and music....could stay in there for hours. Recharge torch for letting dog out at night. Would so recommend this cottage. The owner was so friendly when I rang re key collection and was telling me of walks in area. Highly recommend.

Well equipped cottage in a beautiful setting but unacceptably dirty.

We had to clean spilt sour milk and dirt from inside the fridge and around the fridge door. We had to empty the lint trap which was packed full of fluff, and the full water collection tub of the condenser tumble dryer. We had to clean the oven rack, frying pan and some cutlery and toaster before use. Also the shower drain because it was clogged up with sludge and hair. The bathroom blinds were filthy (these we didn't clean). Yet when I rang regarding key collection, I was told that the property was having a 'deep clean'. I note that when negative feedback has been given previously the owner turns it back on the reviewer. As we have dogs we have always vacuumed before leaving a holiday let, but not this time, so I expect some comment. We can supply photos if required. There is a blanket ban on any recycling because guests might get it wrong! On a positive note, the towels were brilliant white and fluffy and the jacuzzi bath was gleaming. Free WiFi is a big plus, as is the underfloor heating. Great local dog walks at Fishnish and Garmony.

Absolutely great peace and quiet time,good location for seeing all the island ,my dog loved the walks right on the doorstep.

Lovely cottage with a great view.

Only thing missing was a microwave which was listed on the site we booked on otherwise very well equipped. Bathroom particularly nice and overall very comfortable. Good location - near the ferry and plenty of places to visit for walks.

Poppies Cottage was amazing, from the view and location to the facilities provided within the property.

We spent 5 nights here in May and had a fantastic holiday, spending days out and about and then had such a wonderful, comfortable property to come back to. It was extremely tranquil and surrounded by so much wildlife. We would definitely return in the future.

Poppies is as wonderful as ever and everything in good working order and clean.

I have mobility limitations and the cottage meets my needs because it is easily accessible (although I don't need a wheelchair) It is in an excellent central location on Mull, quiet with amazing views. You even get to watch eagles, buzzards and hen harriers from the garden or sitting on the bench facing the hill side. Many people come back to the cottages time and time again - this was my 4th time and will be back. Donald is very helpful and always responds quickly to any queries

The cottage was perfect in everyway enjoyed the log burner every night..the view from the window was amazing something you would never tire of!!

Great holiday cottage everything you need and more peaceful tranquil Great local information typed out for you Only draw back is the brown water doesn't look nice certainly spoiled the bath, would be been nice to know nothing to worry about, local shop sells 5l bottle water we used for drinking cooking and dogs

The property, was overall great, water was brown.

No microwave available as listed. Good property. Mainly clean, asked to strip bed on leaving and asked to put bedding in wash. Thought this was a bit of a cheek. On doing so mattress was stained and so were pillow protectors. Overall facilities were good, well situated.

A fabulous cottage, and in a great location.

Poppies cottage is 1 of 4 cottages in a row on a hillside over looking Fishnish Bay that is easily reached by a short walk. The large window in the lounge is fabulous to look over the bay and watch the ships and wild life from.

Easy to find (turn left after the ‘otters crossing’ sign) Fabulous views.

Lovely bathroom with jacuzzi bath, sauna and shower. Big comfy bed. Two comfy sofas , washer and dryer (useful as I got soaked one day). Short drive to Tobermory and onward then to Calgary bay via Salen. Lots to do at Tobermory (don’t miss the Cheese farm) …… Frequent ferry across to Lochaline very close by. Excellent ….will stay again.

Clean, comfortable, warm, with a beautiful view of the Sound of Mull.

Central location. Excellent facilities. Ideal for dogs as the garden was enclosed. Superb bathroom. A very relaxing stay. Met the owner who was very friendly and helpful. One of the best cottages we've stayed at.

The cottage was very cold, reported to the host who advised the under floor heating was on 24 hours a day.

A thermometer reading in the bathroom was 13⁰c on all days which made using the luxury facilities in the room a little grim. We were advised to use the log burner to increase the temperature which was necessary. Luckily my partner could use the axe to chop the wood for the fire to keep us warm for the week. Other than the temperature, the cottage was clean and had all necessary facilities, was close to all areas of the Isle and is set in a beautiful location. No welcome pack on arrival which I thought was standard with sykes, it does make a nice touch

Poppies cottage is an ideal base for seeing the beautiful isle of Mull.

the surrounding scenery is outstanding, along with the wildlife .The wood burner is excellent for giving some extra charm to the room once the evening draws in & also very welcome as we had some chilly evenings with the rain & strong winds. would recommend the Sea Eagle trips from Ulva ferry run by Mull Charters it was an experience never to be forgotten, the views of the Sea Eagles was spectacular along with the incredible scenery.

This was our third visit to these cottages so I think its safe to say we love it there !

Poppies is an extremely comfortable holiday cottage.

The owner, Donald, was very helpful in that we had an early ferry from Oban and he managed to get the cottage ready and us in before 5pm, as indicated by Sykes. A great utility area as you enter for drying off the dog and getting boots and coats hung up to dry (yes - beautiful Mull gets some rain). Great big kitchen area. The only two things we would say about the kitchen are: a) pots and pans are a little tired and in need of replacement and b) a microwave would be a bonus. Beautiful, relaxing living area with fabulous picture window. We did not require the log burner but I am sure it would be wonderful in colder weather. Super comfy bed and a great bathroom with a lovely large tub. Poppies is near Craignure and Salen with a little bit of a drive to Tobermory but it is ideal for exploring and driving to all parts of the magnificent island of Mull where you will find amazing walks. We will return no doubt.

Spa bath and steam shower to relax those aching muscles after walking the hills with a beautiful view from lounge window to waters below. Don’t want to share this really, want to keep it to myself

Great cottage with lovely facilities which exceeded our expectations.

Highly recommend this cottage; amazing views, lovely sauna, steam shower and jacuzzi bath - just what you need after a day walking in the hills. Great location - only a few miles from the ferry at Craignure and Salen, which has a good grocery shop, restaurants and cafe.

The cottage was very comfortable.

It had a magnifying mirror in the bath room which is very helpful and you don't find in the great majority of other rented accommodation. Nicely situated roughly in the middle of the island for ease of site seeing. Views from the cottage excellent. All in all a very nice cottage and location.

What an amazing cottage looking onto beautiful scenery the cottage had plenty of space and storage.

The gentleman who owns it was very pleasant to deal with on the phone before key uplift. Highly recommended if you want a peaceful and not much to do holiday will be looking to book same cottage for next year.

The best we have stayed in!

We have stopped on quite a few properties and one of our priorities is a secure garden for our terrier. This cottage was brilliant in every sense and the view was to die for!

Our old greyhound loved the underfloor heating for snoozing on.Comfy, quite spacious, good location, great views. Well equipped and everything in working order. Friendly owner.

A fantastic Cottage to come home to after a day out walking on the hills.

We stayed at poppies as it was central to the area we wanted to explore.

Cottage was fantastic. The owner and his cleaning staff were helpful and lovely to speak to. It was a pleasure to return to the cottage after a day out due to the comfortable and cleanliness and the location over looking the sea

Could only report faults via mobile phone and we don't have one.

Neither the hob, the shower nor the sauna would heat up. There was no remote control for the DVD player. There was no internet access. The two leather settees were filthy.

The views from all windows are amazing and the underfloor heating keeps everything snug and warm, the wood burner was a bonus but not needed as the cottage is plenty warm enough. The cottage has everything you need for a perfect break and is ideally situated for visiting all the beautiful sights on Mull.

This cottage is excellent in every way.

The view, the cleanliness, warmth and comfort from the underfloor heating and the high quality of towels and bedding made staying in the cottage a wonderful experience. The jacuzzi and sauna were an additional pleasure. Very highly recommended.

Good cottage with all the mod cons in a fantastic location overlooking the Sound of Mull.

Lovely and warm on arrival with underfloor heating so never needed to use the log burner. It does need a coat of paint but the owner did text me to say this is happening over winter, along with some new bedding.
