What guests are saying
A neat, very clean, tidy, organised property in a great location.
Owners are lovely people who genuinely care about their guests. What more could you want!
We had a lovely stay at Foxes Earth.
Has everything that you’ll need and ideally situated to explore the area or if you stay local tgere is a pub that does good food and can have a lovely walk through the forest. We appreciated the welcome goody pack too.
Absolutely loved our stay only went for three nights just to chill which we did .
It’s beautiful and quiet the decking at the back was lovely . Will definite go again
Very clean extremely well equipped with comfortable furniture, perfectly positioned in beautiful surroundings and very helpful and friendly hosts.
Couldn’t have been better.
We had a great time, crossed the road and dodged the horses roaming freely to walk for miles through very scenic greenery, my dog absolutely loved it which was great as he was the reason we were there as it was Stanley's holiday after all.
We had a lovely holiday at foxes earth.
Normansland is the perfect place to just walk into the new forest and foxes earth is just set back from the rd opposite the forest. Chris and Kim live next door and were very welcoming. The cottage is well set out with a lovely decked area with table and chairs to sit out in an evening listening to the birds. Everything had been thought about so that we had everything we needed for our stay, even down to milk in the fridge and a welcome basket. The cottage was lovely and clean. The bed linen smell lovely as you walked into the bedroom. We found it easy to get to the new forest, Poole, Stone henge etc and it’s lovely getting to see the wild horses and donkeys as you travel around. We would definitely visit again.
An extremely comfortable and stylish cottage.
The owners Chris and Kim live next door but are not intrusive in any way, and are always there to help. A really lovely couple. The cottage itself was very clean with a great shower. The balcony was a major plus and the wine and goodies left by the owners was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Just make sure you duck for the final three stairs as you go down. Highly recommended as Nomansland, what with a great pub only 30 seconds away, is a great base to explore the New Forest.
Had lovely stay at the foxes eath Owner really friendly and helpful.
Was very clean had everything you need Comfortable: The lamb inn lovely little pub down road Lovely food staff friendly. Had lovely holiday exploring the new frosted And places near by
Low ceilings in the bedrooms and stairs, I grazed my head twice during the stay.
Down stairs bathroom not very convenient for up stairs bedrooms. Small decking area with no sunloungers. It appears from the photographs that there is access to a lawned area. There is a velux window in the small bedroom that can not be opened. The accommodation all though small was well equipped, neat and tidy. The owners are very pleasant and welcoming.
Perfect home from home!
Spotlessly clean with a wonderful welcome pack. Very comfortable & peaceful. Nothing was too much trouble for the great hosts Chris & Kim. I didn't want to come home. Will 100% be booking again! Thank you x
Would highly recommend a lovely place to stay, hosts very helpful lovely accommodation.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming, we wanted for nothing as the cottage was like a home from home.
Our first trip to the New Forest and we were not disappointed with ponies & donkeys at the end of the drive.
We loved our stay at Foxes Earth.
A gorgeous cottage in a beautiful location. It looked even better than in photos. We were greeted with a small hamper of goodies, which is always so nice to have, and we met both hosts who were lovely. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a break in the New Forest.
Perfect location.
Beautiful accommodation. Immaculate very clean. The bed was super comfortable. The night lights were a great idea it’s perfectly dark at night. The only downside was the shower pump was not working so we had very quick showers so not to flood the bathroom. We will definitely be staying again.
Upon arrival at Foxes Earth we were met by the owner, who was very welcoming and said if there is anything we need to let him know.
They had left a welcome basket of goodies which was appreciated as well as dog bowls and towels. The location of the property is perfect for exploring the New Forest and local area and there are lovely walks directly from the property, with plenty of horses, donkeys etc to be seen. There is a verandah to the back of the property which would be lovely to enjoy in warmer weather. I would have no hesitation recommending to others and when we return to the area I would look to stay again.
What a wonderful break in a well maintained and cosy holiday home.
Briefly met the owner on arrival and he welcomed us, showed us around and left us to our holiday. Highly recommended from the booking process to the stay!
Second time we have stayed here, good location, accommodation excellent feels like home from home.
The lamb inn just along the road, very welcoming and serves good food what's not to like!
Loved the property was so comfortable with a fab location.
Lovely hosts. Will definitely stay again. Pub near property did really good food. Lovely walks into the forest. Highly recommend.
Foxes Earth was beautiful, warm and cosy.
Perfectly located for our walks both locally in the Forest and further afield. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Will definitely be recommending to our friends.
Foxes Earth is a cosy, well equipped cottage, in a perfect location, with walking access to the Forest from the property.
Chris & Kim were very helpful & the welcome pack, including a bottle of wine & milk In the fridge, was appreciated.
Great accommodation in the forest in easy reach of Salisbury, Romsey, Lyndhurst, Lymington and Mottisfont National Trust.
Chris and Kim were perfect hosts - there if we needed them for anything but also left us to our own devices. The Lamb Inn was only two doors away and was very welcoming with excellent food. donkeys and ponies were a delight. Thank you Chris and Kim for the thoughtful welcome pack and the birthday card. All in all a great holiday.
Perfect accomodation in a lovely area of the New Forest.
Great pub (The Lamb Inn) next door serving excellent quality food. We really enjoyed our stay here. Quiet and cosy. Thank you very much for the welcome hamper for us and the dog.
Excellent all round.
First time in a cottage. Enjoyed our stay very much. Excellent location. For the New Forest. Will go back.
We had a lovely four-night break in the New Forest and were really appreciative of our comfortable accommodation at Foxes Earth.
The property is well placed for trips out to the forest and wider excursions into Hampshire and Wiltshire. Kim and Chris were welcoming hosts without being intrusive and we really appreciated the welcome pack, a thoughtful touch. Highly recommended!
One of the nicest places we have stayed in for a long time, fully equipped, very cosy and comfortable.
The location is good with easy access to area's we wanted to visit. Good food in the Lamb Inn just up the road. we shall be returning next year.
Very comfortable with everything provided that made our stay perfect.
Lots to see and do in the area. Looking forward to staying there again
House was spotless, comfortable and fresh smelling.
Kitchen well equipped and owners so friendly and helpful. The welcome pack, dog bowls/bags/treats very much appreciated, thank you!! Walks to the Forest are literally just across the road and The Lamb pub provided us with great meals and excellent service on our way back from our long walks. Secure balcony and fenced drive/area for the dog. Thoroughly recommend Foxes Earth.
Just want to say a big thank you to chris and Kim it was so clean and she thought of everything was a really lovely comfortable stay felt very welcome and I really lovely area If you want a relaxing stay with pleasant walks amazing forest with animals this is for you.
I would 100% recommend it. Thank you once again, chris and Kim for allowing us to be able to stay ln your beautiful lodge in a stunning village
Compact cottage with everything you need, located in peaceful New Forest village a couple of minutes walk from the village pub.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and within easy reach of Salisbury, Winchester, Beaulieu, the Historic Docks (Mary Rose/Victory), Stonehenge and more.
We so enjoyed our stay at Foxes Earth.
The cottage was very clean and well equipped and the welcome pack was much appreciated ( especially the wine ).Although the owners live close by we were given our privacy and enjoyed our chats with them. Also when asked they provided great ideas on where to visit. We hope to return in the future and would definitely recommend Foxes Earth cottage.
We had a lovely stay.
Chris and Kim were great and they were on hand/answered messages whenever needed. They were so accommodating, buying us a high chair for our little one. The house is very well equipped and clean. We will definitely stay here again and bring our dog next time.
Stayed for 3 nights, with my 2 boys and our dog Eevee, could not fault it, amazing location, brilliant place and the hosts, Chris and Kim were just perfect.
Hope will return soon. Thank you. Best wishes, Danny
This is the second time we have stayed at the bungalow.
Kim and Chris are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Last year and this year we asked if a shower seat could be added ,as due to my husband having a false leg he is unable to stand in a shower. This request is never to much trouble for them. As we have a little dog who we like to feel safe for her to go in and out this property is idea and secure. We are always made to feel welcome and there is always a hamper of goodies which is really kind. A pint of milk is also provided along with tea, coffee and sugar. There is no need to take washing up liquid or hand soap as all is provided. There is a dishwasher and washing machine if needed. The property is also a short walk from the local lamb pub. The bungalow is always clean comfortable and smells lovely. The owners take great pride in what they do to make your stay a happy one. Kim and Chris are really good hosts but are not constantly in and out of the property, however if you need anything they live next door. They are happy to help in anyway and if they are going in and put of their property they will have a chat with you. There is do much more to tell you but will run out of space. However if people would like to know more I would be happy to help. It is suitable for all our needs although my husband is disabled he is able to go up stairs to bed. Rest of accommodation is on ground floor level with an enclosed front garden with room for one car and secure for our dog at front of property. At the back there is a nice patio area which has table and chairs and secure for our dog. My contact number is Julie 07909221017 There is a blanket, bowl, poo bags and treats for the dog.
A beautiful property and surrounding village.
The hosts, were very attentive and friendly.......I'm definitely booking this property again. Highly recommend
A lovely cottage in a peaceful setting.
The terrace gives an opportunity to sit and enjoy all the sounds of the countryside. Woodland walks right from the door so no need to use the car once you arrive. The village pub serves lovely food, and the Cuckoo Inn is an easy 2 mile walk if you want to go a bit further away.
Very friendly owners, lovely little property in a great location
What a wonderful property to stay in.
Very comfortable, everything you could want on your doorstep. We were celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and was so perfect. Definitely 5 stars. We will be back ! We had wonderful weather as well. Jackie and David
A lovely property.
Our only criticism was that there were two few plates and bowls and too little normal cutlery. We had to keep washing up because we were running out of the essentials but the dishwasher was nowhere near full. The beds were very comfortable and having two sofas was perfect!
A love, sweet little holiday cottage in a great location.
We had two great meals at The Lamb and we really enjoyed our stay.
A real home from home equipped with everything you could possibly need, decorated and furnished in a comfortable and cosy way.
Our hosts welcomed us but were not intrusive and provided us with a lovely welcome pack and all the information we need to really enjoy our stay. The location is perfect for treks into the forest, great pub lunches or dinners and excursions further afield if you want to get out in the car, but there is really no need. We would 100% recommend Foxes Earth
We were extremely happy with our stay at Foxes Earth.
Lovely accommodation, friendly welcome, delicious goodies basket with human and canine provided for :) Perfect location for a dog friendly holiday and exactly as described. We will definitely be recommending to friends and family and go back again ourselves. Thank you
We can not rate this property high enough.
Its location is ideal for exploring the New Forest and surrounding areas. Foxes Earth has everything you need and is tastefully decorated and finished to a very high standard. The owners are next door and are very welcoming and check with you that everything is ok. We have no problems recommending Foxes Earth and wouldn't hesitate about staying there again.
10 out of 10 all round.
We couldn’t fault it. Our hosts were lovely and the area was beautiful and peaceful. The accommodation was spotless and the place felt very warm and homely. The local pub (The Lamb Inn) served excellent food with a friendly service, which also made our stay very enjoyable. We have recommended the Foxes Earth to our Son & Daughter in Law for the future.
Excellent property in a great location.
Felt at home straight away. Lovely hosts. No issues at all. Would definitely recommend. Thank You
Had a lovely holiday Beautiful location Forest walks on your doorstep Fabulous cottage in perfect condition has everything you need .
Very nice dog friendly pub 2 minutes walk away.Would highly reomend .Our Golden Retriever loved it also Roy Chris
Excellent accommodation, impeccably maintained and tastefully decorated.
Would highly recommend. Only issue arose upon leaving when the front door (with the key on the inside) locked itself when shutting. This only became apparent when we tried to open the door. We explained the situation to the owner and it became apparent that although they had a spare key this would not work with another key in the lock. The only way in was apparently to break a window. The owner advised that the same issue had occurred before. Given that would strongly suggest that a warning be provided either verbally and/or by a notice on the door not to leave the key in the lock when exiting the property.
We’ve just had a lovely two night stay at Foxes Earth.
Everything you could need in the cottage and a fabulous welcome pack which was really thoughtful. Immaculate decor and incredibly clean. Thank you so much for such a wonderful break!
The owners were really helpful and made us and our young dog feel completely welcome.
The cottage/chalet is beautifully set, nicely thought-out internally and it is very peaceful! The chalet's proximity to the New Forest makes for easy and good walks. It was thoughtful of the owners to leave a bottle of wine and snacks, too. They were appreciated! The village is lovely, with an excellent pub (always busy) and a French restaurant (also always busy.) The cities of Salisbury and Southampton are close by and there are many interesting places to visit. thank you for a most relaxing, restorative break! We would definitely recommend Foxes' Earth!
We were met by a lovely lady called Kim on arrival, she was very helpful about the area and places to visit during our stay, the property has everything you need for a fantastic stay, very comfortable and spotless, we can't wait to return in the future.
Beautiful location, wonderful cottage but sadly mis advertised as having a king size bed.
It is a small double. Once this issue was pointed out after we had to measure the bed, the owners and Sykes cottages admitted the mistake but were sadly unwilling to offer anything to recompense for 3 nights in a tiny bed. We always check bed size so feel a little misled. Disappointed.
Lovely Cottage everything has been thought of.
Perfect location for exploring The New Forest.
Lovely cosy cottage.
Comfortable and well equipped. Appreciated the welcome pack goodies. Ideal location for enjoying the sights of roaming horses, ponies, donkeys and pigs and for exploring and walking in the New Forest.
The listing stated that a microwave was available but we were not aware of one on our visit unless it was contained within the oven, which seems unlikely.
There could have been a few extra sockets in the main front room as there was only a set to support power to the TV and there was no real room to set up a laptop PC. However, and very much on the plus side is that the property is immaculately maintained and the owners were very helpful and did as much as they could to make our family welcome. A highly recommended property to visit if you want a peaceful location with great views of the New Forest and the surrounding area. Undoubtedly this would be an excellent place to visit in the summer due to the outside seating on the balcony which is spacious.
Kim was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
Place was lovely and had everything we needed. Short walk to pub and a French restaurant. Plus walks straight into the woods.
Thanks Kim & Chris - Stephen, Kat & I thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days in the New Forest.
Foxes Earth made a great place to lay our heads at night, clean, snuggly warm and in a great location.
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Foxes Earth.
The property was spotlessly clean and has all the mod cons you need to make your stay more comfortable. The owner popped over to make sure we had everything we needed within 10 minutes of us arriving and if we needed anything we could just knock on their door and ask which was lovely. There was a delightful welcoming pack which consisted of a bottle of wine, some beer, chocolate and biscuits. There were also some dog treats for our dog. We made full use of the decking area when the weather allowed us to. I did think by looking at the pictures that we had access to the garden for our dog but it is just the decking area but this was completely my misunderstanding. There is an open space area where you park your car for your dogs to go outside which is completely enclosed and adequate. We went on lots of walks from the property itself and also went further afield in the car and on returning from our walks we used to walk down to the pub for a tipple or two which was great. This is a great place to stay with everything you could wish for in a wonderful area of the New Forest. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.
Beautifully appointed property in a lovely peaceful location with easy access to the New Forest area…a trip down memory lane for us having camped at Longbeech and Ocknell sites over several years.
Excellent shower and Kitchen facilities…could perhaps benefit from a Microwave and Coffee m/c for some but not an issue for us. The Food at the Lamb Inn does not disappoint . The Welcome pack was much appreciated. Thank you Kim and Chris!
We had a lovely few days in the New forest the location was great for walking and the countryside was beautiful.
The cottage had everything we needed and was very quiet.
A lovely accommodation, which we found extremely well presented throughout.
A warm welcome from Kim & Chris along with a handy welcome pack including a bottle of wine and 2 beers!. Very quiet location, which we found ideally situated for our daily excursions. A local pub only 3 doors away was most welcome on our first evening after a torturous journey took longer than expected. The 2 bedrooms are light and airy with 2 big Velux windows. During our stay the blinds were waiting to be fitted. The information pack would benefit from some places of interest to visit or recommended restaurants/pubs. We found The Royal Oak at Fritham (15 mins drive) excellent. Serving a variety of amazing Ploughman’s lunches and a very reasonable price. Also on a wet day we discovered The Buckler’s Hard Museum & Historical Village. Excellent.
Beautifully appointed little cottage that was perfect for my wife and I, along with our 3 year old daughter and Maltese dog.
The owners had obviously put some care and thought into the property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay from Friday to Monday over the August Bank holiday weekend. The location was perfect for Peppa Pig World and the ponies, donkeys and cows wandering around in the village were a delight. A lovely pub and French restaurant were just 2 mins walk away. Highly recommend this accommodation.
A wonderful stay in a delightful location.
Nice and quiet.
