Wool Barn was an amazing place to stay very quiet friendly helpful owners and lots to see and do around Wiltshire and surrounding counties Wool Barn had everything you needed for a comfy relaxing holiday

The Wool Barn is cosy, clean and well appointed in a quiet rural setting with plenty of walks on the doorstep for days when you don't want to use the car.

There is also an excellent village pub a 5 minute stroll away. The accommodation is also perfectly situated for exploring the wider area which is oozing history.

The owners were very welcoming to us.

The Wool Barn was an ideal place for us to have a relaxing week away It was nice to see the sheep with their lambs and I found the guinea fowl very amusing. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.

A lovely property in a scenic and quiet location.

Easy access for Longleat Safari Park, Warminster, Stourhead and other National Trust properties. Gilly and Andrew and Ruby the dog are great hosts and we enjoyed the welcome pack. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

An excellent property.

Very spacious and well set up. Views are a delight. The treats left in the fridge by Gilly were a delight and very welcoming.

I really did enjoy my stay, it was a lovely quiet place.

I used it as a base to travel around the area, just nicely off of the beaten track but close enough to the pub and the Budgens for a coffee in the morning. Well done to the owners.

We are just back from a three night stay at The Wool Barn.

We had a fantastic time. The Barn is great - quiet and peaceful and had everything we needed plus more!! The kitchen is the best kitchen in self catering accomodation we have ever had. The Barn was very clean and comfy. The hens eggs and bread was a lovey touch and very tasty. We stayed following a visit to family in Hampshire but discovered it is a great location for visiting many places in the area. We will certainly come back and is likely to be a regular venue for us - thank you so much for letting us stay.

Stylish, modern, quiet, clean, unique, lots of attention to detail and welcoming / engaged owners. I am CEO of an organisation that owns 7 holiday cottages and I am super-fussy about standards. On all levels, Wool Barn exceeded my expectations. 10/10.

The welcome was memorable.

The property and location were excellent.The owner put extra effort into making you welcome.

We very quickly felt as if we were in the way.

'Move your car over'. There was plenty of room. We were greeted by a dog, friendly I'm sure, but she jumped up and you could feel her teeth. One of us had to get out of the car when we drove in as she would bound towards us and we were afraid of knocking her over. The bedroom was a problem as one side of the bed had a big 'scoop' shape, which was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was also rock hard. The blind was also broken and let in light so we were awoken very early, so were tired. Both these issues were commented on in the notebook they had left for comments. The wardrobes were half-height cupboards and so longer clothes such as dresses were on the floor, so we had to use the hook on the back of the door for longer garments. And the picture of the nude in the bedroom we felt was inappropriate. The bathroom had strings of cobwebs in it. There was a massive spider in the sitting room, which defied all our efforts to remove. The place was generally cluttered and we had to move things out of the way to make room for our things - this was especially so in the kitchen. The dishes and cutlery felt dirty and we had to wash everything before we felt happy to use them. The instructions regarding the bins were incomplete - they didn't actually say where the bins were. The grill pan had caked on grease. There was dog hair on the cushions. The dining chairs were uncomfortable and needed the addition of cushions. The sofa was also very uncomfortable. We also struggled to open the bigger windows, some we just couldn't budge, so we were too hot and we didn't want to open the door in case either the dog or their birds came in. There were 6 birds running around, the breed I can't remember, and they were cute. However they were fed early and the noise (we think it was the woman) sounded through the apartment as they appeared to be doing it under us. There had been photos of an outdoor sitting area under the apartment that we could presumably use, but this was filthy and usually had the owners things on it. We really didn't feel welcome. And to top it off they complained about us! They said that we had wrecked the internet router and television. We hadn't touched the router as the code was in the folder in the sitting room. And the television was on a metal folding arm so you could amend the position of the screen. All we did was pull it out and then push it back when we weren't using it. The allegation was withdrawn but it has left a very bad feeling for us. We really wouldn't recommend this place.

Excellent pub in walking distance and good walks that can be done from the property.

Quality holiday accommodation in a peaceful setting.

Excellent Wifi Friendly but unobtrusive owners and they were quick to resolve an issue we encountered. We would not hesitate to recommend or return in the future.

The Wool Barn is a beautiful property finished to a high standard.

In the main it’s comfortable, warm, peaceful, and very well equipped. Bathroom is excellent quality, as is the kitchen area. Lounge perfect for relaxing in. It’s a great location to with good walks and an excellent pub.

The Wool Barn is a really beautiful, peaceful place to stay and relax, or to explore the surrounding areas.

We like to cook and the barn was equipped with everything we needed. Lots of great walking in the area for our dog, Dexter, also. A short walk into the village and The Prince Leopold, a cozy local which has fantastic food. Andrew and Gilly, the owners, are lovely and on hand too, if needed, and gave us some great tips on walks, etc. We only wish we had booked to stay for longer!

Excellent barn conversion in a quiet village in the Wylye valley.

Very well equipped to a high standard and with great views. A short stroll to a very good pub and lots of good walks from the door and nearby. Will definitely like to return.

A beautiful barn conversion, a real find.

Excellent value for money, the living accommodation is large, with a well stocked kitchen, lovely views and is comfortable through out. Location is fabulous, wonderful walks on your doorstep with many local towns and villages worth a visit. The owners Jilly & Andrew are lovely, very helpful and we will definitely being coming back. Wool Barn is a gem and we would highly recommend to everyone.

Absolutely loved every minute of our stay, we were greeted as we arrived and the little home comforts that were left for us were such a treat, bread, milk, eggs butter, a jar of fresh flowers and then Gilly popped round with a little pot of jam, all fresh from the farm.

Both Gilly and Andrew were so welcoming, you can tell from every last little touch that the barn has been their labour of love and they are extremely proud, they should be, it’s absolutely beautiful, amazing views, spotlessly clean, comfortable, the bed is amazing, it’s been converted wonderfully, it’s quiet and there is so much to do around and about, we got to see and do so much. We will definitely be booking again and we have already recommended the barn to lots of friends. Thank you again to Andrew and Gilly.

Fabulous little find in the countryside.

Gilly and Andrew have created a perfect little base in their converted barn. Everything you could ever need included, welcome pack on arrival for that very much needed cup of tea, spotlessly clean. Even made a new friend in their gorgeous little dog who greeted us every morning and welcomed us home each evening.

Hosts were lovely and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The standard of accommodation was incredibly high and felt really luxurious. We will definitely be booking again.
