We met the owners on arrival, who were very friendly, and left a lovely welcome package. The surrounding area is quiet and nearby attractions such as High Force, Barnard Castle, Bowes Museum are easily accessible, the scenery driving around was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this Cottage to others.

It was very well equipped, had super comfy bedding, and despite being on a working farm was virtually totally silent. There were great clothes washing facilities in the outbuilding, and our infant enjoyed meeting the friendly family cat who liked to hang around. Lisa was very nice and accommodating, it was a great stay.

Very clean and cosy. My only problem was I asked for logs for the log burner and didn’t receive them. I tried to ring the owner twice but no answer and because of the covid situation could not approach the farm. Nice little stay visited some lovely places highly recommend Raby Castle and it’s grounds

  • "The Cottage itself its absolutely lovely, the host fantastic and in a great idyllic location."

The log burner in the winter months is lovely! Me and my partner went for her birthday and just wanted to relax, and this is certainly a great space to do exactly that! The only issue i had, which I believe is a Sykes problem, not the owners, it list this property ad being in Northumberland, which it is not. A bit misleading, but maybe I should've double checked before booking. I would expect a place to be where it states it is, however.

  • "You should be aware of what was listed as included."

We had to request the DVD player, which had a short HDMI cable & had to be mounted on a pile of books to reach the wall-mounted TV.Also, we were advised by Lisa Simpson that there was no CD/radio provided, which was contrary to your description as part of the package. Poor lighting over the dining area. No information pack was provided regarding the equipment in the property (kitchen information was found in spare cupboard, not obvious) and there was limited tourist leaflets to be found & these were located in the Utility Room across the yard.

  • "We loved this cottage and the friendliness of the owner."

There was a lot of attention to detail. (The only thing I wanted was a wooden spoon!) My friend who was in the smaller bedroom said it would have been nice to have a simple pull out bracket to hang a few items, but we did appreciate the coat stand in the lounge. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever had on holiday. Delightful spot, absolutely LOVELY and would thoroughly recommend. We had never been to the area before and found some really lovely places to visit - some by car, some by bus. Would definitely go back.
