Overall we had a great stay, but we did unfortunately have some issues with the property.

Location was great and we could just pop down into the village without ever needing to move the car. Struggled to find spaces directly outside the property, but always within walking distance. The property was lovely and clean, and the beds and pillows very comfortable. We all slept very well! However, the attic bedroom is a nightmare unless you're very short. There is a beam and low ceiling as you come out of the room and I hit my head on the beam (to the point of getting a bump pop up) and bit my tongue. There are no warning signs, hazard tape, or anything to try and cushion that hard edge. And in the semi dark when I had put the toddler down to sleep and was trying to close the door behind me, I didn't have a chance! There is also only one shower in the property, which wasn't ideal for the two couples staying in our party as we had to use my parents' en suite. Even though there's a shower curtain around the bath, there isn't a shower. The shower is also note designed for taller people at at 5ft 11 I only just got under it! A handle had fallen off one of the kitchen cabinets exposing a sharp screw so I had to spend a lot of time stopping our toddler going anywhere near it. And all the adults poked themselves on it at some point as it was by the sink! The kitchen is not well equipped with glasses or cutlery, and only 5 dinner plates. There is also no work surface so a nightmare to try and actually cook for 6. The oven was also beyond useless and took over an hour to produce some very anaemic sausages. To top it off, the kitchen ceiling would sometimes leak water profusely through a big board nailed up there. Possibly from the shower? But it was a lot of water whenever it came through. So plenty to love here, and I would stay again for a weekend (and not plan to cook!) but definitely some maintenance/safety issues that need resolving.

The property was generally okay if a little tired.

It was adequately equipped and clean (although we did find an unwashed plate in the cupboard). When I booked I didn't appreciate how steep the street was so parking the car was terrifying. The village was very nice and the shop owners very friendly. It was a good place to use as a base for days out.

Excellent property - really comfortable, cosy place to stay.

The only thing that we didn't like the look of from the photos was the cooker which seemed old fashioned but it was fine! We like cooking and had no problems with it at all. Kitchen was great. Rooms were all good, bathrooms excellent. The kids were very happy. Pateley Bridge is a lovely place to base yourself, the people are so friendly and you can get all your weekly provisions on the high street. And the surrounds are stunning - we visited Saltaire, Haworth (and the steam train), Grassington, Fountain Abbey, Bolton Abbey, Simon's Seat, York - it was a full week, we loved it! My grandparents used to live in Dibbles Bridge and my Mum worked at Stump Cross Caverns in her teens, but I haven't visited for 40 years too long. We will be back soon! Thank you so much.
