Lovely cottage.

Kitchen well equipped with essentials and welcome wine, biscuits and Yorkshire tea bags. Cottage very decorated and clean (only a few cobwebs) Traffic noise from road, upstairs bathroom street parking. Great local pub and walks.

Lovely cottage with a comfortable bed, lots of amazing walks nearby, Nice pub and restaurant down the road too.

The log burner was also a highlight for us. I highly recommend it if you want to experience the countryside in the Yorkshire dales. No issues with street parking either. Only thing to improve on is many of the cooking Pans to fry things are scratched and could do with being replaced.

This is a lovely quirky little cottage in a lovely friendly village.

The Foxand Hounds is a few yards along the road and offers great food and a welcoming atmosphere. The Wi-Fi works but the mobile signal is non existent inside the cottage and very sketchy outside.Be prepared! I think the steep stairs should be mentioned and steps back and front which while no problem for us,could be difficult for older visitors. Sharon was very helpful sorting out the heating. We would certainly return.

A lovely, warm, cosy cottage that we found to be very clean and well presented.

Loved the log fire and comfortable beds, it all felt very homely. Plenty of kitchen equipment for all our needs but also a 2 minute walk to the very delicious Fox pub. We have loved our stay here and would come back!

Only a short walk to the nearest pub which served good food & had very friendly locals. Some great local walks & stunning views.

What a lovely cottage, and great communication from Sharon. Great location. Lovely pub (The Fox and Hounds) in walking distance (pie and a pint night on Wednesday and great menu all round. Good local ales. Comfortable bed, nicely fitted kitchen, good facilities, good size bath, and the log burner was very welcoming. There was nothing not to like here. It's a beautiful cottage, in a useful location close to many good places to visit. Thanks Sharon for such a lovely stay.

A beautiful cottage - exceptionally clean.

Everything needed in the kitchen to cook a meal. Perfect for our stay with decent walks from the door step. The owners are very generous, supplying wood for the gorgeous log burner. WiFi signal in twin room was poor but these are old houses with very thick walls. Fab local shop for any emergency supplies to top up. A real home from home.

Well equipped, clean, comfortable cottage.

Heating rather hit and miss but fortunately there was a woodburner as it was rather chilly in the evenings. Hot water not hot enough for a bath or to wash up. Good shower and comfy bed.

Lovely property and very well equipped with everything you need to make this a home from home.

The village has lots of great walks nearby and both village pubs are highly recommended. Only complaint is the heating being controlled remotely, we have stayed in the cottage in summer before when this was not a problem, however we found it to be too cold for us with the heating only coming on twice a day in the winter. It would be better of the guest were the one controlling the heat levels, this did mean we got to make good use out of the excellent log burner.

Hope cottage was a really nice place to stay, it was immaculately clean on our arrival, and a very cosy cottage to relax in, kitchen was very well equipped and the bathroom and bedrooms where very spacious, overall we really enjoyed our stay at hope cottage and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in west witton.

It's a beautiful cottage, well appointed clean and comfortable. Ideally situated for touring the Dale's and walking. We would highly recommend staying there.

Excellent!

Possibly the best equipped and cleanest self catering accommodation we've ever rented! From the first email to the short call to resolve a query the owners have been as communicative and helpful as possible. We will not only recommend this cottage but Sykes as well. The only niggle is the height of the final set into the property, it was a bit challenging for my wife who had a knee replacement 3 months ago. However this did not is anyway detract form our overall satisfaction with the cottage.

It was a warm and welcoming stay.

If I had a problem the owner was quick to respond. I would recommend staying here. Beautiful cottage.

It is sweet and charming and had all that you need plus extra homely touches like a made up fire reqdy to light and welcome biscuits and wine. We were able to check out late and our overall stay was super. We'd love to return.

A comfortable well equipped cottage near a friendly pub.

Village shop is only open half days but Leyburn with a wide range of shops and places to eat is only 4 miles. Great area for walking.

Hope Cottage offers very comfortable accommodation which is well situated for walking, cycling and touring in Wensleydale.

It is possible to walk up Penhill directly from the property. The kitchen is well equipped. It was slightly odd to have some of the heating remotely controlled, though Sharon quickly adjusted it when we emailed. Parking (opposite the property) looks as though it could be a problem, but isn't. The A684 carries very little traffic after 7pm. The bike shed only really had room for one bike and could only be accessed via the house so my bike had to wheeled or carried through the hall and sitting room whenever I wanted to use it.

This cottage was gorgeous it felt like home away from home, the host was helpful and even left us a lovely little gift of tea, wine and biscuits on arrival, plenty of kindling for the wood burner.

Would definitely book here again

Lovely holiday home very clean everything you need for your stay on site great area for walking and lots of places to visit if you want to drive nearest pub good beer food ok next pub food very expensive didn't go in no complaints about the holiday home or the area even the September weather was good

Fantastic cottage in great location.

The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Stairs are a bit steep to second bedroom and bathroom but was okay for us. The fox and hound serves food until 8.45pm so if you fancy unwinding with no cooking or driving then you’ve got everything on you’re doorstep. There’s a lovely private terrace at the rear but we didn’t get chance to sit out there.

Very helpful host who directed us to the property when we got a bit lost.

Everything you need in the cottage to make it feel like home from home. Local pub along the road was great for a drink after a day of walking and sightseeing. Would recommend Forbidden Corner (kids or no kids!) Middleham Castle and Thorp Perrow. Leyburn is also great and just a short drive away. Wonderful stay. Thank you!

The location was excellent for visiting the Dales to one side of us and the gentler countryside and historic towns to the other.

Great location for exploring the Dales.

Pub, restaurant and village shop just a short walk away. Lovely walks locally. No need to take the car. Parking can be an issue. The cottage is on a main road and while parking is permitted, it is quite a narrow road and not well lit at night. Parking is available in a side street, nearest location about 120 yards away.

Absolutely loved it - this is a cottage that we think we'll be coming back to!

Absolutely lovely cottage with everything you could need - even a slow cooker for those colder days: come back from a day's walking to a lovely hot meal.

Loads of wonderful places to visit locally including castles, waterfalls and lovely villages. Make sure you visit Richmondshire Museum in Richmond - and Duncan's Tearoom: ask for a left handed pastry fork! And visit Campbell's in Leyburn for your shopping - amazing supermarket packed with local produce and more Yorkshire tea varieties than you've ever seen! Wonderful base to explore the region - will definitely visit again.
