The Hayloft

Great week at the Hayloft, fantastic location on the moorland - bring your binoculars (I forgot mine!

) as the wildlife in the vicinity of the cottage is brilliant: curlews/lapwings/oystercatchers/plovers/hares. No need to use your car as there are plenty of walks from the cottage. Peaceful and tranquil, just how we like it.Great for dogs but keep them under control so as not to disturb the wildlife, especially the ground nesting birds. Owner Amie was very friendly and helpful. Will come again as we love the area but very popular so will have to book well in advance.

We loved here, aime the owner goes out her way to help in way she can.

We have never experienced in any stay that someone would go put fresh milk, eggs, cake, biscuits and jam in for arrival. Then pup had her own wee welcome pack. Such a stunning property with pet sheep that just love a wee clap.

Amy the owner was very nice, friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about the local area and things to do and places to visit. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque break. Great for the dogs too.

What a gem!

Hayloft is in an ideal position to take advantage of the fantastic views and access to Nidderdale and the rest of Yorkshire. One of the best things is the wildlife that can be seen from the picture windows especially the barn owl and the swallows. The cottage is clean and comfortable perfect for our weeks stay. Amie left lots of lovely treats for us and extras for the dog. Amie is a perfect host. Friendly and welcoming. We plan to return in the future.

This is a lovely bright property situated on a farm about 4.

5 miles from Masham. There are walks from the farm and lovely views. Look out for the curlews and barn owl. Masham is a great village with everything you need plus more lovely river walks.

A wonderful and peaceful place to stay.

Amie was a very generous host who made us feel most welcome. We were particularly pleased with the size of the cottage and beds, the excellent shower and the dog friendly attitude. Walks on the door step as was the multitude of wildlife. We were lucky enough to see, from the living room, a barn owl hunting. Tawny owls were hooting during our night time walks. I would highly recommend a stay.

Great property set on the edge of the moors.

Very comfortable and well equipped. Very peaceful Plenty of local walks both from the property and short drive. Great goody bag/welcome pack on. Arrival including treats for the dog.

Couldn’t have asked for more!

The cottage was super comfortable with all amenities perfect! We were warmly greeted by host, Aimee, on arrival & were delighted to find a charming welcome pack not just for ourselves, but for the dogs! Nothing was too much trouble! The Hayloft offers an unparalleled view over the Dales and is a perfect observation post for the plethora of wildlife! Would highly recommend this cottage! We will be returning!

We just love cottages like this.

The view from the lounge in The Hayloft is superb. We watched a pair of Barn Owl every day on the edge of adjacent woodland and hares in the fields. Accommodation was perfect for us; I was there with my two adult daughters for a long weekend. We had a lovely quiet few days which we all needed. Countryside location but within easy reach of the town which is characterful with an super friendly pub, The White Bear, which serves excellent food. Amie is super friendly and so helpful. Thank you so much.

The owners were lovely and very helpful. Perfect for dogs. Great stay with family. We had a wonderful time.

I wasn't sure what to expect but I arrived and the property was unlocked (as described it would be) with the key inside.

In the kitchen we were greeted with a wonderful tray of treats - posh coffee bags, biscuits, home made jam etc. AND even a few doggie treats for our 4 legged visitors. There was a water bowl and towel for the dog too. A good selection of kitchen equipment means you can just bring ingredients. If TV is important to you, please note that the signal is weather dependant but there are some DVDs and Books (or just bring your own). TV isn't an issue for me but did enjoy a couple of DVDs. Wonderful scenery and sunrises (when not raining - but it is Winter) and have walked all over the area. Saw a few deer and lots of pheasants. Easy heating settings - which actually work (unlike hotels) helped me stay warm enough upstairs but cooler in the bedroom. Disappointed they are so booked up I am having to wait longer to re-visit (ha ha) but it will be worth the wait.

This is a beautiful property in an idyllic location.

All the creature comforts in stunning surroundings. For peace and quite away from the rat race you couldn’t ask for more, truly breathtaking, we had a wonderful time.

Absolutely perfect for our requirements.So dog friendly & in a perfect location with a variety of walks from the door.Quiet & peaceful yet just a short drive from Masham or Leyburn.The accommodation is very clean & extremely warm & comfortable with ample hot water.We will definitely return & would highly recommend.
