What guests are saying
The stables was clean, comfortabl, well equipped and very very peaceful.
An absolute delight. The landlady, Amie, left a lovely welcome pack and was a perfect host. The cottage was situated close to many local visitor attractions both for families and older couples like us. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from our door, and the 2 tame sheep. The walks from the cottage are lovely with wonderful views. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this holiday home.
This was our second visit to Moorecote farm, the location high up on the moors takes some beating if you want peace and tranquility and like wildlife - in the week we were there we saw Curlew, Lapwing, Oyster Catcher, Cuckoo, Partridge, Grouse and Hares galore.
The highlight of the week for us was watching the fledgeling Swallows being fed on the patio outside the cottage, so we didn't use the patio at all in case we disturbed them. The Stables is on one floor and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Amie is a great host and nothing is too much trouble for her, even taking in two ducklings we found exhausted on the roadside due to the heat. We are already looking to book for next year, as do most regular quests as Moorecote Farm is very popular and once you have stayed you become hooked.
A delightful cottage in a lovely quiet setting.
Beds were comfortable and a spacious bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need with comfortable dining and lounge seating. Amie, the host, was lovely and on site if you needed help but was not intrusive. She had left a treats tray for us which included delicious homemade snacks. The cottage is located within farmland so there are two gates to open and close and beautiful sheep wandering across the roadway. An ideal location for peace and quiet and enjoying the countryside. Amie has two pet sheep who will greet you. Lovely accommodation we would happily stay in again.
