Lovely old cottage in centre of Grassington, near shops and pubs but in a quiet street.

Very small kitchen but ideal for snacks and breakfasts. The neighbour and owner are friendly and offered support when we had a medical emergency.

Lane Fold Cottage was a lovely cottage in a perfect position in Grassington.

The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. It was nice too yo have the little courtyard area outside to sit in. I would thoroughly recommend it.

The cottage is located in the heart of Grassington down a cobbled track with parking close by .

The only main criticism of the cottage is regarding the very small kitchen where you enter the cottage by a narrow corridor which is also the kitchen consisting of 3 units - sink, oven & fridge , there is a half height wall behind them , so it is open to the lounge / dining area . Most of the kitchen utensils, pans, crockery and cutlery are all located in the dining area in dressers and the microwave is also in the lounge . Although we did use the kitchen to cook it took some organising and would be difficult for 4 people. The stairs are steep as described and would be difficult for an older person / dog . Otherwise the lounge is large with a log burner and a new slightly larger TV has been installed - there are previous complaints about the old tv . The bedrooms and upstairs bathroom are all good . It’s a great base for the Dales and Grassington is a great village with pubs , restaurants, cafes and local shop . There are a lot of walks which start/ end in Grassington.

The door opens right into a tiny kitchen, and the fridge is small and you basically have to kneel down to get into the crisper.

The stairs are narrow and steep. Other than that, we liked the cottage. We failed to open the out house until we were about to leave; there’s a washing machine and shower out there. It’s in a great location with nearby parking.

Ideal location. The only negative point is the parking but we were luckily enough to get a spot on the free carpark right next to it .Would stay here again .

It was clean on arrival and beds were comfy. The location was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay Grassington is so pretty and everyone are so friendly.

It was all very comfortable and well looked after. The location is also good, as it is in the centre of the village.

The second time we have stayed here , it’s great location right in the centre of Grassington.

Parking is a issue in Grassington anyway but we managed to park near and didn’t move the car all week.Good walking from the cottage . The cottage was clean and warm when we arrived, the beds are particularly comfortable , with good quality bedding. It would have been nice to have a basket of wood provided to start the fire on arrival. The only downside for us is the steepness of the steps , luckily there is a hand rail. Perhaps a hand rail at the side of the shower over the bath would be helpful. The kitchen is very narrow which doesn’t come across on the information, but it well equipped.

Cons No welcome pack (unusual for holiday lets) No starter pack for log burner Kitchen too small. Heating didn’t work, despite using the override function as per instruction so would have froze had it not been for the log burner. Front door is a vertical split door which is a pain, needs replacing. Old fashioned TV needs replacing

Though upstairs toilet is the loudest and longest we have ever heard -- as if a jet were taking off -- that aside, the house is great -- a perfect location with everything we needed.

We especially enjoyed having a fire on the cool, damp nights.

A great little quaint cottage.

Situated near the centre of Grassington with easy access to all the towns amenities. The cottages facilities were as described with the beds being comfortable and the bathroom well situated for the nightime visits. The living/dining room was very spacious with great seating for long night chats while not being crowded together. Sadley Grassington has some very good Dining pubs a great fish and chip shop and a wonderfull Bangladeshi Restaurant that welcomes customers with their BYO . This meant that apart from breackfast we did not use the kitchen, which a small area had all we could have wanted. Go there again? Too right.

This is the 2nd time we have had the pleasure to stay here.

It's lovely, comfy, great place to use as a base to explore or just chill. The only downish side but it's out of the owners control, is parking, it can be a bit iffy. One thing that might be good is a bigger TV. We'll be back next year

Lovely cottage, really nice and clean.

The beds were nice and comfortable. Plenty of space and storage. The sitting room is spacious and accommodated 4 adults and 2 dogs easily. Really good location. There was a comment regarding the kitchen being tiny. Yes it is but it is all open plan and it had everything we needed. As I said it's a lovely place to stay. Thank you to the owners x

Needs updating,poor bathroom,toilets would not flush properly,the step out of the property is EXTREMELY dangerous and needs sorting out,all 3 of us nearly fell down it ….

The cottage is in an ideal location, parking was difficult at the weekend but managed to park in the little car park near the cottage in the week .

The kitchen is small but got everything you need. The cottage was nice and cosy. The bed was so comfortable. CottAge was clean and tidy.

Nice and comfortable, with a large living room. There is steep stairs up to the 2 good sized bedrooms, but take your time and its not an issue. Lovely cottage for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Will definitely return, excellent value.

his cottage is in the beautiful village of Grassington.

It has a large lounge including kitchen dinner. It has all that you would require for four people. Access to cottage could be difficult for some people and in season parking could be difficult even to drop off but this applies to all of Grassington. The approach is by pebble cobbles which are on a slope and can be slippery. Front door is normal width but split in two making access not easy unless both doors open you then enter a narrow galley kitchen. The shower room is not in house but in an outhouse opposite house. House has a bathroom with bath and shower but could do with safety rails. Stairs are narrow and steep. The location is great and if you are fit the accommodation may well suit you. I think it’s reasonable value for money but does have issues

We were very happy with the property which was very well situated in a lovely village.

Just perfect for us with the dog.

We love being within the village,so easy for an early evening meal.

This is the second time we have used this fabulous cottage as a base for a cycling holiday in the Dales.

The village, itself, is perfectly placed and has everything you could possibly need. The pubs and cafes are all really friendly and dogs are welcome everywhere. The village store carries a wide range of necessities and is open quite late everyday. The cottage is lovely and warm and very comfortable with sumptuous beds and a good hot shower. There is ample, free parking nearby and an outhouse/washroom which is big and secure enough to store a couple of bikes. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge area is large and very relaxing. The recent addition of WiFi was a welcome bonus too. The owner.Joyce, was in contact to make sure that everything was OK and help was on hand if we needed it (we didn't!} All in - a lovely place to stay in a very beautiful part of the world. Well recommended!!

Lovely old fashioned cottage set in the heart of Grassington village with all it's amenities.

Kitchen is rather compact but we tended to only have breakfast there and make picnics. Parking could be awkward. We were lucky and managed to get on the small free parking area next to the cottage. The area is of outstanding natural beauty and there are many good walks from the cottage. The village is very attractive and contains many good pubs and cafes. The prices are quite high which is expected in a tourist area. Would highly recommend for walkers like ourselves.

Lovely place to stay.

Dog gate to the kitchen was extremely useful. Really liked the wood burning stove although you need to buy your own wood.

A lovely stay , ideal location , easy parking , great access on arrival .

The only element I’d recommend the owners to do is change / upgrade the TV . After a good days walking , couple of drinks with dinner it’s nice to relax at home , but watching a postage stamp not good … let’s it down and reduces score . Otherwise happy to go to top marks ..

This is my second time in this cottage and I’m already thinking about another visit as I do love it!

It doesn’t have Wifi, though, which many other places do now and phone signal in the cottage is a bit iffy. Parking is a bit of an issue - especially when transporting luggage as it isn’t always easy to park close by the property. I would also recommend taking toilet rolls as there hasn’t been enough on both my stays! But it is cosy, well placed and I want to come again!

Wi-Fi is important to many people these days.

I recommend making it readily available. The owner was just wonderful to work with and very accommodating. The cottage is lovely and nicely located. A clothes dryer in the outhouse would be appreciated as well.

The cottage was as advertised, but we found it extremely difficult to keep clean, due to the walk down to the cottage door, running water and mud on the cobbles!

Not a good place to take a dog. We would have expected a starter pack of wood, maybe some bread and milk, more than one toilet roll for four people!! Oh and a working torch would have been useful!!!!!

I loved this little cottage.

Whilst compact, it felt roomy and had everything I needed for a thoroughly pleasant stay. The location was perfect for walking and the little shower room opposite was perfect for keeping boots and coats. The bed was super comfy. I had a great time.

pictures are very misleading the “ cottage “ was very small and in need of upgrading kitchens tiny that small tht the microwaves in the lounge !

The cottage is in a great location to enjoy the village, was lovely and clean and provided a cosy atmosphere for our stay.

I could have done with more accurate directions to the cottage as it was tucked away in the village and not easy to find.

A great location for setting off to see the glory of the Dales.

However, like me after long walks in the glorious countryside, the property is showing it's age and would certainly benefit from a facelift!

Everything expected from a village cottage holiday. A very compact clean and comfortable cottage with everything you need. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

The cottage whilst old and full of character which we loved could really do with a significant update, the bathroom in particular needs some serious attention and the kitchen is just not fit for purpose in my opinion.

The drain in the kitchen sink had an unpleasant smell when we arrived and every time you used it. The tap was also leaking and needs replacing, There was a really dirty wooden chopping board left in the kitchen which had a bad odour so that went in the outhouse for the week, The toaster appeared to not have been cleaned out for some time also, information on the board was out of date and not all accurate, The outhouse was a good addition but is just not finished so it was not inviting to use the toilet or shower! great village setting with fantastic local amenities but sadly we will not be looking to book this particular cottage again, in my view this property is not accurately represented in your listing. Real shame as with a bit of upgrading this could be so much better!

Great location, Grassington is a perfect spot for a stay in the Dales.

The cottage is lovely and very well maintained. Would use again if available, and recommend.

This is the third time we've rented the cottage.

It's comfortable for two couples sharing and convenient for the village facilities and as a base for walking. It could probably do with a bit of redecorating here and there but we wouldn't want anything too spick and span with dog and muddy boots etc. Wifi would be useful as I run my own business but not essential. I guess the best recommendation is that we hope to be renting it again next year.

There were poblems with the heating and TV.

The former was solved after telephone conversations, the latter the owner came over next day and fitted new TV.

The photos were clever for example showing the kitchen by opening both doors and standing up the stairs to take the shot.

The freezer was in the out building across the patio. The kitchen is too small to be used regularly, especially for four people. The photos on the web site do not reflect the fact that this is a very small cottage. The room/building across the patio is not fit for purpose. It was not finished and very musty and damp smelling. There was no WiFi which is a first for us. No welcome pack and no wood. Positive points were that the cottage heating was effective and the cottage was warm. The beds were comfortable and the bedding of a high quality.

We never moved the car all weekend very relaxing,will definitely be back.

The location of the cottage is excellent and it was really comfortable, we loved the fire but would have liked a bit more space in the kitchen.

In a very good position in Grassington village.Very clean and well stocked with kitchen appliances, crockery, etc. and very grateful for odd condiments and cleaning materials. Kitchen small ,but adequate, and a nice comfortable lounge area, with TV, DVD and video recorder and a nice selection of children’s videos, a few DVDs and a good selection of books and jigsaw puzzles. Ideal base for a weeks walking holiday in the Yorkshire Dales.

The cottage was perfect, ideal location, quiet and comfortable.

Disappointed that there was no hand soap, shower gel, shampoo etc and no spare bin liners. These items cost very little and we expect a starter set to be provided.

The cottage was well-appointed and quite comfortable though personally I found the bed and pillows too hard.

The DVD player wasn't working and I would be grateful if you would pass this on to the owners as we did not have time to do this. Parking at the weekend was a real problem and for that reason I would not recommend the cottage to others.

Beautiful cottage in a quiet residential part of the town.

All local facilities within walking distance & many walks straight from the cottage door! Cottage was cosy & warm with excellent facilities. Everything we needed & more was there. Hope to come & stay again.

The cottage was excellent - clean, comfortable, well equipped and really well located in the centre of Grassington.

We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others. A couple of bits of feedback that we hope are helpful. A knife sharpener would be useful in the kitchen. The drain by the kitchen door is fairly fruity and could do with some attention! None of the DVDs we tried would play in the machine (Video tapes were ok); we left a note for the housekeeper about this.

Lane Fold Cottage held everything we could need for our stay in this most beautiful and hospitable area.

Having a second facility and shower was very handy for us two couples, and the location could not have been more convenient. The neighbors were lovely. We love Grassington, and the Cottage insured us a wonderful stay. We’ll be back!

This cottage was tucked away just off the main street of Grassington.

From the front door we walked the dog along cobbled streets and stone cottages fronted by displays of flowers. The local eateries were good too. After our daily trips further afield it was good to come back to Lane Fold Cottage.

This is our second visit to this property.

It is comfortable and warm, but most of all it is an excellent location in the cente of Grassington and having great walks from the door.

Really helpful staff at Sykes when we enquired about bringing an additional dog.

Cottage was in an excellent location - Grassington highly recommended village to stay in.

Think it would be useful if cottage had a list of places to eat in Grassington as luckily we found the fish and chip place on the last evening - lovely treat. Also check out the Corner House café - food was amazing. Tried a couple of the other tea rooms In Grassington and they were good aswell. Very well stocked Spar shop and awesome butcher. A list of nearest bigger supermarket and petrol facilities would have been useful for those people not familiar with the area - both found in Skipton (Morrisons and Tesco) having asked local shopkeeper. We cooked in the cottage at night which was fine for us- maybe the cottage needed a small set of weighing scales and a larger casserole dish than was provided but we managed ok. Did lots of walks around Grassington - great Dales Tourist information building in village with lots of local guides and maps - bought little book of 6miles and under walks around Grassington - the ones we did were ok for everyone. Overall had a great holiday with fantastic weather in a beautiful Yorkshire village - would recommend the cottage.
