The Squirrels

The property was very nice and exceptionally clean (unusual these days).

I was not clear from the listing which rooms were on which floors but it turned out that the living room and kitchen are both on the first floor, which was more convenient than I had imagined. The picture of the microwave by the back door is because it is in a little alcove down some stairs from the kitchen. The house is conveniently located a short, flat walk from the centre. My only negative points are that the floorboards and stairs creaked so loudly that it was impossible to move around quietly and also that the bedroom would benefit from a dressing table. At the moment, the mirror is too far from the plug socket to do my hair, and there is nowhere to put toiletries and make-up down except balanced along the top of the radiator.

We were a party of 2 couples and we all found the accommodation to be superb.

It was very clean, with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. It was situated in a quiet residential area - less than a 10 minute stroll to the centre of town. We all would recommend it to people interested in having a short break in the area.

We chose well, looking for a comfortable stay in Hebden Bridge in a quiet location five minutes walk from shops and cafes etc.

The Squirrels is a town house so plenty of stairs, good sized rooms and a great living room leading onto a balcony outside. A great kitchen, with everything we needed, including an essential fridge and a good sized freezer with an ice cube tray! Essential in the heat waves we are experiencing?! Hundred per cent recommended as a lovely base from which to explore…we never used our car once we had settled in, and our free off road parking was very useful.

What a fantastic propery, a credit to the owner. Clean and well-presented, comfortable bed and lots of hot water. Good location for the town centre with both bus and train links. Highly recommend a stay at The Squirrels. Sheila & David.

Lovely homely house with everything you will need.

Went as a family of 5 adults and 1 child, there was so much living space, bedrooms and bsthrooms to meet our needs, close to shops and pubs with beautiful surroundings. Great contact from owner. Would definitely return.

Second time I have stayed here.

Its a great location in a beautiful place. All very clean and well equipped. Could do with a small set of drawers in the single room. Just to put underwear in etc. Maybe even a bedside table with drawers. And the wall cupboard in the family bathroom is totally impractical. Minor details though, but worth consideration

Have given 5 stars for everything, lovely comfy sofas and beds, and everything immaculately clean.

Our only minor glitches were that we couldn’t turn the freezer on, although we managed fine with the small freezer compartment in the fridge, and there is a very short section of unadopted road outside the property which was a bit tricky! But such a lovely property and only a five minute walk into Hebden Bridge. We would definitely book again.

Excellent place to stay.

Good location with straight forward access to the town. Front drive area could do with a tidy up, bushes a little bit overgrown but only a minor thing. Very nice, comfortable accommodation in a charming, bustling mill town.

Great base for touring Bronte country and the Dales.

Walking route to Howarth (6 miles) is on the doorstep. Close to town centre, but in a quiet location. Very comfortable and clean accommodation.

Lovely home would highly recommend, short walk into Hebden added benefit we could sit out on the balcony and eat when family came to visit, owner is a lovely friendly lady we would definitely stay again

We were very happy: the house was comfortable and clean and in a very good position for the town.

I know Hebden Bridge well but hadn’t discovered this tucked away address previously. We also had a good view of the beautifully wooded hillside. I’m 76 and managed the stairs ok but might be challenge for some.

A lovely family Christmas stay at The Squirrels.

House was warm and cosy. Big enough that we all had space to not be on top of one another. Easy, flat walk into the pretty town of Hebden Bridge with lots of pubs and food options. Loved the Christmas Eve tractor run and carols. Excellent communication from owners. Thanks for the Christmas tree!

We had a fabulous weekend.

The Squirrels was extremely well equipped and very clean. It was close to Hebden Bridge and very easy to walk into this lovely town .we will definitely be back next year!

Lovely clean and comfortable home from home.

The Squirrels is in a great location within 10 minute walking distance of Hebden Bridge. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. Great place to meet up with family and friends. The house is very well equipped and maintained to a very high standard. I will definitely return!

The Squirrels was absolutely fantastic !

! Nothing could be faulted and there was nothing that wasn’t thought of down to games, books and blankets in the lounge . The property was spotlessly clean and the owner Joanne is such a lovely accomodating lady who was so friendly and helpful . My sister and I took our elderly parents 90 and 87 who loved the break and were so impressed with the house and the thought that had gone into all the personal touches . Excellent location. Off road parking available . 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms with 3 fabulous bathrooms one of which being en-suite . 2 lounge areas the main one having a lovely balcony area leading off it which we enjoyed an afternoon sat on in the sun . I can highly recommend the Squirrels and would not hesitate to return . Thank you for the perfect stay and the opportunity to make some really happy and treasured family memories .

Excellent, centrally located property with good facilities.

The Squirrels is a beautiful house that is amazingly well equipped.

There is everything you could possibly want. Having three bathrooms was great with four adults and two children. There are lots of great walks and things to do. A hit with the grandchildren was Clip'n Climb in Halifax. There are many good places for a snack - 'Rendezvous' in Hebden Bridge and 'The Blue Teapot' Mytholmroyd were favourites. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful holiday.

Lovely property just on the edge of town, no more than a 5/10 min walk into the centre.

House well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great location to pick up the walks to Hardcastle Craggs and Gibson Mill. Would happily book again.

The Squirrels is a really comfortable house with top quality furniture and fittings, the heating was on when we arrived, which was nice in mid April, the house was far more spacious inside than you would think, amazing!

our two sons had their own room with bathroom/shower each, we had the huge master with en suite, we had a very comfortable weeks stay in this house and its location meant just a short walk into Hebden town, we would definitely stay here again.

Really great property.

Everything we needed for our week’s holiday was there. the lounge is light,bright and very comfortable to relaxin, It was super quiet and had peaceful nights sleep. The squirrels was also in a fantastic location, a few minutes stroll to the brilliant pubs shops, cafes and canal walks. Fantastic we loved our holiday. Thank you to the owners for providing a lovely stay
