Description

Owl Cottage is a superb stone-built, terraced property set at the heart of the pretty village of Haworth, home to the famous Bronte sisters.

Boasting an enviable location, just a stone’s throw away from the famous cobbled Main Street and the many attractions of this lovely village, this is an exceptional find for a couple seeking a romantic break away to this part of Yorkshire.

Set over two floors, this delightful cottage has been renovated to a high standard with the contemporary styling complementing the original features of the property, boasting everything you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday.

After a wonderful day of exploring, relax into your evening within the open-plan living room, where the original, exposed beams frame the inviting sitting area and you can look forward to catching up on TV, with the characterful woodburner-effect fire setting a tranquil ambiance.

Joining the space is a compact, yet well-equipped kitchen, where you and your partner will be delighted to rustle up some tasty meals by making use of the quality appliances, before settling down at the dining table to tuck in, with a bottle of fizz that has been kept chilled in the sleek wine chiller.

Upstairs the super-king-size double bedroom enjoys an elevated position, from which superb views over the surrounding countryside can be seen, so you are promised breath-taking views as you wake up each morning.

Next to the bedroom and completing the accommodation is a stylish shower room with walk-in shower unit.

If you fancy a special treat one evening, take a short stroll into the village centre, where you will find a cluster of traditional pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as a superb range of shops for picking up sweet treats, gifts and essentials.

Brush up on the village’s history by visiting the Brontë Parsonage Museum or putting on your walking boots to follow the trails of Heathcliffe and Catherine along the famous Top Withens, which is said to have inspired Emma Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, among other fantastic walks upon the surrounding moorland.

Nearby is the market town of Skipton, which has won awards for its cobbled high street, and has independent shops and eateries, as well as a castle dating back to 1090. Also within driving distance is the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, which has an abundance of attractions, including Turkish Baths and an excellent theatre.

A cosy holiday cottage just right for a romantic retreat in the heart of Bronte Country.

We had a very comfortable stay in Owl cottage, it was clean, cosy and welcoming, a credit to Andrew and his team.

The lemon drizzle cake was an unexpected welcome bonus, thank you. It’s in a great location for town, local walking and bus stops. There are lots of choices for cafes, and pubs, we particularly enjoyed Pave bistro and The Fleece Inn served a good pint as well as very generous meals. We would recommend Owl cottage and hope to return again next year.

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Owl Cottage, it had everything we needed.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable, cosy living area/kitchen, lovely big bedroom, plenty of storage space , lovely bathroom and shower, Owl Cottage is ideally situated on the main street of Haworth, Parking not a problem as it is around 50 yards walk from the cottage. The owner is very helpful and easily contactable. We definitely recommend a stay at this lovely cottage and hope to be back one day.
