Description

Thresfield 2.9 miles.

An outstanding stone-built, semi-detached cottage located in the small village of Kilnsey, near Thresfield.

Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, this property offers stylish accommodation amongst beautiful scenery, ideal for a large group to get together and enjoy country living at its very best.

Anglers Cottage showcases many features of a traditional Yorkshire property, with an old stone floor, original beams and charming window seat.

The farmhouse kitchen is spacious, well equipped and full of character, whilst the sitting room is cosy and warm, with lovely furnishings and a woodburning stove set in a feature fireplace.

The dining room provides a great place to gather for a meal together, or sit at the piano for a good old singsong, and it also serves as a snug where friends can relax away from the group.

Two separate staircases access the first floor, where five well-thought out bedrooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

The property also boasts two bathrooms, one with a breathtaking freestanding bath so there is no shortage on space to freshen up for the day ahead.

Outside is a small patio area with furniture to enjoy your morning coffee in the sun.

Just a stones throw away is Kilnsey Park, offering a variety of activities with fly fishing, friendly farm animals and pony trekking, as well as a village pub for the nights you just don't feel like cooking.

You can access wonderful fell and riverside walks from the doorstep, along with cycle paths, and of course the opportunity for any keen cyclists to ride the 2014 Tour de France route.

Just a short drive away is the small village of Thresfield, Kettlewell and Buckden boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery, or Grassington which one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales, where you will find traditional stone cottages, galleries, restaurants and shops, which are clustered around the cobbled market place, plus a monthly farmers' market provides a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce.

A little further is Bolton Abbey or the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor.

For a fabulous cottage, whatever time of the year, choose Anglers Cottage for your group getaway.

Really good cottage!

Very well equipped with just about everything you need for a great break. Comfy and super attention to detail. Excellent pub on the doorstep with very friendly Tennants (excuse the pun!) and staff. Wi fi was good and there’s loads of guides and books on hand. Plenty of great walks nearby and a decent bus route to Skipton, Grassington, Kettlewell if you need. Only downside which we were aware of is there’s only 2 bathrooms but with 4 WC’s. Kitchen brilliant but would benefit with the addition of an egg slice. Got home and booked the same cottage for next year so, all in all the pro’s outweigh the cons!! Thanks for a great stay!

We were initially excited about our stay at Anglers holiday cottage, Kilnsey, which has lovely character and plenty of space that suggests it could comfortably accommodate larger groups.

We had booked to celebrate as a family my dads 70th birthday. We particularly enjoyed the living spaces and the open fireplace and it is in a lovely setting with fantastic walks available from the doorstep. However, during our visit, we encountered a number of practical challenges that affected our overall experience, and we wanted to share these observations in the hope they might help improve future guests’ stays. • The internal door to one of the rooms was not properly secured and appeared to be hanging off its hinges, which was a minor safety concern and slightly inconvenient for privacy. • While the dining area is generously sized, we found the seating provided was not sufficient to comfortably accommodate our party of 10 people, meaning some of our group had to use alternative seating from other areas of the property. • With a property that can host multiple guests, we felt the number of available showers was limited, leading to some delays in the mornings. • Thr kitchen & one of the bedrooms had no heating, which made it quite cold, particularly as the weather was cool during our stay. One small storage heater was provided in the kitchen however we needed to keep moving it up and down to the bedroom so that we had heat. • The kitchen cooker was extremely complicated to operate; even after referring to any available guidance, it took us some time to get to grips with its functions, which slowed down meal preparation. • Only one television was provided for the entire property, which meant it was difficult for different members of our group to enjoy their preferred entertainment at the same time. • Additionally, two of the beds were broken, with unstable frames, which affected the quality of sleep for those using them. We believe that with some targeted improvements to address these points, the cottage could become a fantastic choice for large groups looking for a home away from home. Many thanks The Wilkinson family

Had a great weekend at Angler's Cottage.

6 adults and 2 teenagers in our group and we had plenty of space and bathrooms. The property was as it appears in the pictures and was clean and tidy and everything worked. The only small issue - which is more of a personal thing, was that some of our group had uncomfortable beds and didn't sleep so well. Mostly this was mattresses being too soft although one was too hard! You can't please everyone! Is Angler's Cottage at the top of our list for our next visit? Absolutely yes, we loved the place.
