Description
Bronte Barn was previously a Yorkshire Threshing Barn with the original large arched window containing the date stone 1831. It nestles in this unique setting close to the lovely village of Haworth, surrounded by grazed fields and footpaths. Enter the pretty terraced cottage into the kitchen dining area, where meals can be taken with the addition of a wonderful panoramic view, the cosy lounge area is ideal for relaxing in.
The staircase leads to the walk in shower room, and the double and a twin bedrooms, both enjoying picturesque views to wake up to each morning. Head into the nearby village of Haworth (approx 3/4 mile away) where the cobbled High Street and alleyways are steeped in history and not only offer numerous cafés, eateries and pubs but also a variety of independent shops and businesses. Pay a visit to the Bronte Parsonage museum which was the sisters' home from 1821-1861 or take a walk to Top Withens said to be the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. In the nearby village of Oakworth you will find pubs, a supermarket and also Branshaw Golf Club. Visit the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway at Oakworth station where the original Railway Children was filmed. The market town of Skipton, known as the 'Gateway to The Dales', is well worth a visit or venture a little further afield and enjoy a cream tea in Harrogate. Manchester and Leeds are in easy reach. Bronte Barn can be booked alongside The Mistal (1066046), which is next door, together accommodating up to 8 people.

Lovely view from the property.
The property itself was small yet comfortable and clean. The kitchen sink layout didn’t really work for us as when washing up no one could dry up as not enough room. Not sure how a family or 2 couples would manage especially with the extra washing up they would be creating. Beds were comfortable and my mother and I both slept well throughout our stay. We had a lovely holiday and made some great memories. The surrounding area is beautiful. The Grouse Inn up the road (a short drive) was a great place for eating out and with generous servings it was great value for money. Also loved Haworth with plenty of shops and eateries we unfortunately went on a day the Bronte museum was closed and due to other plans never made it back but the church was open and worth a look round if you like that sort of thing. Overall a great stay and central to what we wanted to do.
Bronte Barn was lovely.
We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were really welcoming - leaving a bottle of wine and shortbread out for us to enjoy. Nothing was too much trouble and were easily contactable. The view of the moors from the cottage are amazing and it is so peaceful listening to the sheep and cows. The little courtyard garden at the front of the cottage was perfect to enjoy the views and sit out to have lunch on a sunny day. Haworth is easy to get to - it is a steep walk, but enjoyable all the same due to the views. Bronte Barn provided the perfect getaway in a beautiful setting. I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning sometime in the future.
Fab place, out in the country but near to Haworth and overlooking Penistone Park.
I loved it
