Good value for money, though the kitchen could do with a bit of work.

Bedroom - comfortable, spacious & plenty of storage.

10/10 Bathroom - again; spacious, however, the shower cubicle is tiny. If you are on the large side, it's almost impossible to achieve a full scrub without bashing the shower surrounds. 7/10 Living room - provides everything you need. Able to sign into extra apps - iplayer etc. Does have Sky TV but no extra packages. 9/10 Kitchen - a big let down! Limited utensils, blunt knives, dreadful frying pans, awful 1980's cooker which is extremely slow. 3/10 Overall, the location is perfect, everything is on the doorstep. I do understand it's not always easy relying on people to respect your facilties so provide cheap items but the state of them was a real let down for us. Maybe if the kitchen was updated, we would book again.

This property is ideally situated to visit the north Yorkshire beautiful countryside and lovely local towns.

Situated next to Black Sheep Brewery and an excellent pub, The White Bear, and within easy walking distance of Masham and with off street parking. The property was clean and tidy and the bed linen was good quality. However there were several issues which require some action by the owner to bring it up to a reasonable standard. The mattress on the bed had springs protruding that made getting a reasonable sleep impossible, This resulted in us leaving the property on Tuesday instead of Friday! The kitchen cupboards above the kettle were peeling and the cooker was well past its sell by date. There was no smoke alarm although there was evidence that one had been there once. Outside was very neglected with weeds and moss in what could have been turned into a very nice sitting area. There was half a used toilet roll in the bathroom! Overall this place was a dreadful disappointment and not what we have encountered before with Sykes Cottages. Many of the issues we have noted were also documented in reviews on line and in the visitors book. We just assumed that the owner would rectify thes things or that sykes would remove this place as not up to scratch.
