On the ground floor, the spacious kitchen diner complete with sofas to lounge on, is at the heart of this impressive cottage and provides a wonderful space to socialise and enjoy food and drink together. For those of the group who would like to break away, the sitting room is the ideal spot to relax in front of the woodburning stove and put your feet up while watching one of your favourite shows. On the first floor you will find two inviting bedrooms, one double and one twin. The floor is complete with a family bathroom. You will also find a fascinating 12th century castle, where you can pay a small fee to enter and relive the castle’s illustrious history.

A five minute drive will also bring you to the neighbouring town of Leyburn, where you will find a busier high street, full of bakeries, pubs, cafes and also a local supermarket. Also in Leyburn is The Forbidden Corner, a 4-acre garden with a labyrinth of tunnels, follies and other surprises. Slightly further afield you will find Hawes, where you can visit the Dales Countryside Museum. Other attractions in the area include the Wensleydale Creamery, Jervaulx Abbey and Aysgarth Falls.

With the Yorkshire Dales waiting to be explored, this charming Middleham cottage is a perfect holiday base for families looking for that well-earned break.

Spacious,warm and comfortable accommodation.

Great location with parking outside, althoughnot gauranteed. The owner was easily contactable, friendly and helpful. The village offers walks from the door and 3 excellent pubs, 2 serving food.

Prospect house is a spacious family size cottage .

The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Loved the large garden however the next door neighbour has 5 dogs which were let out under control by their owner to her car to exercise off site . they were noisy but their owner was considerate however not good if you are frightened of dogs . The decor really needs updating as it's the same as when we were here 5 years ago.. altogether we had a good holiday and would book again .

Very happy with our holiday.

Located in a very nice village. Had a couple problems but the owner was very happy to help. Good bits; 1. Very cosy and warm! 2. Beds very comfortable! 3. Located in very good area. 4. Plenty of storage for clothes. 5. Very spacious. 6. Lovely shower. Could do with a few improvements; 1. Too much stuff in the kitchen cupboards and wasn't loads of room for our food. 2. No coffee, tea bags and bin bags. 3. Hoover was quite smelly 4. Could do with a bench just outside on the patio round the back. 5. Could do with some coat hooks near the front door. We would deffo stay again:) lovely.
