The Barn at Orchard Farm

Lovely home from home, the property was clean and had everything we needed for our holiday home.

Barry, Debbie and Rebecca were all very friendly and welcoming. The location is beautiful and just a short drive from a Park and Ride to take you directly to central York, also very close to the retail park so easy to get shopping or dinner out. We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the Barn.

The house was simply wonderful for two couples.

Perfectly equipped, very tastefully and cosy furnished, surrounded by a big garden with a pond, several sitting options. You could watch the sunset on the terrace or have a walk through a sheep pasture. York, Allerton Castle, Knaresborough, Fountains Abbey and many more locations could easily be reached by car. Barry and his family were very nice and friendly hosts. Everything was perfect and could not have been better.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely village.

Very relaxing with fantastic views. Baz & Debs were fantastic hosts and so welcoming. Accommodation was clean, spacious with lovely outside space and had everything you need for a self catering break. When planning our next break in North Yorkshire this will be our number one choice without hesitation. Thank you for a wonderful week!

An Absolute gem, one of our best holidays yet, beautiful surroundings, the property itself superb & all on one level for our daughter who is in a wheelchair, with a ramp going into the front of entrance, The owners are really lovely, very welcoming and respected our privacy but if we needed anything they were only to pleased to help, our daughter adored theyre Shetland pony Alfie, not very often you find somewhere as perfect as this & that caters for all our needs, we will definitely be back for a longer stay, just superb

Had a lovely relaxing break.

Accommodation was superb, so comfortable . Slept better than I have for a long time, as it was so peaceful. Barry, Debbie and Rebecca are amazing hosts, who cannot do enough for you. We were able to sit out in the garden and enjoy the uninterrupted views of lovely fields. Would recommend anybody to stay here.

Beautiful property in a stunning location. Perfectly located to York so that we could easily get in & out on the park & ride. Everything we needed was in the cottage & lovely little touches. Owners were on hand should we have needed anything. Would highly recommend

Spotless and owned by a lovely family who live close by. Excellent fittings and furniture and everything needed for a holiday. The garden is well kept with lovely open views. We can strongly recommend this property.

If you are looking for peace and quiet with views, The Barn is the place to go, it is a stunning property (the pictures do not do it justice) it has everything you need for a pleasant relaxing holiday and is very handy for York, Harrogate, coast and countryside.

A wonderful cottage.

So peaceful and relaxing despite only being 15 minutes from the centre of York or just a 5 minute drive to the park and ride at Poppleton. We spent hours simply watching the rabbits and squirels in the garden or the ducks around the pond. The owners live in an adjacent property, they were really friendly and amenable. We certainly plan to go back.

We all enjoyed our stay at the Barn and were extremely impressed by the facilities and location.

This is a perfect cottage in a perfect location.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. Comfortable, warm and with every facility, we had a wonderful time. Close to the coast, the Park and Ride for York and with such welcoming and friendly owners. Debbie and Barry were so helpful and looked us very well indeed. We would definitely return.

Absolutely lovely relaxing stay and the hosts were very nice, helpful and informative.

The view from the lounge and kitchen was fabulous. There was milk in the fridge and a few teabags, coffee, sugar and biscuits. Not sure if I read the instructions correctly but would of liked a starter kit for the fire or would of brought our own. But the lovely hosts supplied us with a few logs, firelighters and matches at a cost of £10. There is a helpful information booklet. We recommend the Yorkshire Heart Vineyard it was amazing and the Alice Hawthorn Inn was lovely for lunch.

Situated in a great place to access York easily and surrounding area. We felt very welcome and really enjoyed our stay.

Nice location 20 minutes from York city centre.

Safe off road parking. Debbie and Barry were very good landlords we will visit again.

We had a wonderful relaxing break at The Barn, it was so peaceful and the views across the countryside are lovely.

Nothing was too much trouble for Debbie and Barry who are the loveliest of hosts; we're grateful too to Becca for letting our 4 year old son help with feeding and grooming Alfie the Shetland pony, it was the highlight of our son's holiday. The Barn is perfectly placed for easy access to the A59 so York, Knaresborough and Harrogate are easily reached. The facilities are very good and we felt at home straight away, especially on the large corner sofa, and the weather was warm enough to sit outside most evenings enjoying the peace and quiet of the large garden. Our stay was everything we hoped it would be and we're looking forward to our return visit in 2023.

Barry & Debbie The owners are two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. If you would like peace, quiet and a relaxing holiday, this is the place to stay. Very clean, comfortable, roomy and in a beautiful location. Wildlife all around you. 10 mins drive in to York, Harrogate 25 mins. Could not fault anything about The Barn at Orchard Farm. The Barn at Orchard Farm is in a great location with beautiful rural views.

The Barn is very comfortable and great to share with friends as it has 2 bathrooms. Debbie and Barrie are fantastic hosts and are close by to give help and advice, if needed. It's close to York and other tourist areas/attractions. We really enjoyed our stay.

We have so enjoyed our stay, the cottage is wonderful.

The furnishings and all the thoughtful additions have been amazing. The owners on site have been wonderful, so friendly. This is the best holiday cottage we have ever hired!! It is in a great location being so closed to York but further enough out to be super peaceful. Watching the owners horses and meeting them has also been so lovely. I would thoroughly recommend this property. I very rarely post reviews but feel that I need to on this occasion.

I booked The Barn at Orchard Cottage as a surprise for my partners 40th Birthday.

The Barn was absolutely beautiful. Total peace and quiet. Debbie and Barry were the perfect hosts, they made us feel like old friends. The only downside to the break, was having to pack up and so goodbye and go home. We will definitely be returning when we get the chance. Thank you so much Debbie and Barry.

Lovely location for a quiet break .

We loved the country views and the quietness. Went out walking every day to various locations . The Barn is in an ideal location . We ate in the barn every evening which was very comfortable . After shielding for so many weeks this was a perfect break , we would definitely return without hesitation , Owners are on site but we found this an added bonus to ask for information , They are a friendly lovely family . They are there if you need them but at the same time they do not intrude on your stay .

An excellent property with a lovely garden overlooking the fields the owners daughter keeps her horses.

Debbie and Barry were excellent hosts for which nothing was too much trouble. Everything was presented in a first class way with great style. Highly recommend.

Beautiful barn conversion set within the owners own grounds.

The barn is set in a peaceful location with outstanding views to the rear of the property. The accommodation is furnished to a high standard and it is no surprise to see that it has a 5* rating. We stayed at the barn between 24th to 29th August 2019 The owners Barry and Debbie made us feel most welcome to their property and we would be very happy to return there for another break..

The overall standard of both decoration and layout of the accomodation was excellent. Felt like home from home with all the extras you would want. Views from the barn are beautiful and felt very peaceful. The location is ideal for visits to York, Harrogate, Leeds or local villages. The owners made you feel very welcome.
