Description

Barn Cottage is a characterful stone-built cottage set in a peaceful location within the picturesque village of Newbiggin in the heart of Bishopdale.

This cottage is ideally located for walking, cycling, and visiting the many local attractions and historical sites.

Relax in the beautifully planted cottage garden and enjoy cosy evenings in beside the fire.

The open plan lounge/dining area is spacious and charming.

Beautiful oak beams, exposed stone walls, multi-fuel stove, plush sofas and tasteful décor create an inviting and cosy ambiance.

Enjoy stunning views through the arched window from the window seat and dining table.

The country-style kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials.

Off the kitchen is an annex, with a separate entrance for storage and somewhere to leave muddy boots and coats.

The spiral staircase with its arched window leads to two bedrooms and a bathroom.

The bathroom is fitted with quality modern fixtures and the bedrooms are well appointed with contemporary soft furnishings of a very good standard.

The large master bedroom has a super-king bed, dressing table, built-in wardrobes and a seating area ideal to enjoy morning coffee whilst admiring the outlook over hills and the village.

The second bedroom is warm and inviting with a lovely aspect over the garden and features a king-size bed.

Outside, beside the kitchen is a patio ideal for dining alfresco and stone stairs lead up to a lovely private cottage garden with a further patio.

If any of your party are wishing to store their bikes, there is secure lockable storage available in the garden.

Set out for the day and explore the local area, where you will find welcoming pubs within walking distance of the cottage, ideal for those nights where you don’t feel like cooking.

Grab your walking boots and marvel at the excellent variety of walking trails on offer which showcase the very best of the luscious Dales countryside.

For a wider selection of amenities, head to the nearby town of Leyburn, home to Forbidden Corner where you can explore the trails speckled with fascinating statues and buildings.

For a truly relaxing afternoon, hop aboard the steam locomotive at the Leyburn Station and indulge in a scrumptious afternoon tea as you see the sights.

Just a little further is Hawes, where you can learn more about rural life at the Dales Countryside Museum or pay a visit to the impressive Hardraw Force Waterfall for a peaceful moment.

Barn Cottage is a lovely cottage for exploring the beautiful surrounding areas.

Our stay at Barn Cottage was absolutely idea for us.

We are avid walkers and there are plenty of lovely walks in the area. The cottage itself was spotless, lovely and warm with everything in it you need. We'll be back.

Barn cottage felt warm and welcoming as soon as we stepped in the door.

Super cosy, clean and comfortable (i slept like a log) and has everything you could possibly need. Really peaceful location with fabulous views from virtually every window. Campbells in Leyburn has a fabulous butchers and deli counter and The George Inn at Thoralby (drinks only) is worth the walk. We'll definitely return.

An enjoyable week in this cottage.

A quiet, attractive village (hamlet?) with good walks from the door. We had everything we needed to make our stay trouble-free, and were able to relax and enjoy our stay.
