It's a really lovely place, though in hindsight probably better for younger people as the staircase was quite tricky, especially coming down.

This comfortable cottage next to a farm is in a rural location, with Masham being nearest small town along single track country lanes.

On booking it appeared it had enclosed garden but that wasn’t the case, had to always accompany the dog when outside. Accepts dogs but no facilities for the dog (eg where to dispose of dog waste). Appears owner not on site ( Grewelthorpe). No evident recycling facilities (we brought some items home to recycle). Quiet and peaceful with tracks to moor above within easy distance and lots of Brown Hares in the fields which can be viewed from large picture window ( bifold doors). We found once out for the day that didn’t return until end of day due to the location, and travelling on lanes. The upstairs bedroom is up a tight spiral stair case, with bathroom on ground floor. We didn’t need to use this room. The cottage has vellux ceiling windows but no blinds so light comes through into all rooms at dawn. Phone signal is good, which we found was better than the WiFi in the cottage.

Wifi slow.

Suggest blinds in sky lights in bedrooms as full light from early hours and didnt get any sleep. Upstairs bedroom needs either blocking off or a privacy curtain. Curtains at patio doors thin, suggest blackouts as again flooded with light in upstairs mezzaine bedroom. Fan loud in bathroom. Advertised for 4 people, we had 2 cars and only one space which was tight to park. I appreciate this is on a farm but its right next door to a smelly cow dung shed pilled high with dung, flies and the smell is overpowering so couldnt sit on small patio which had 2 chairs for 4 people. Area is lovely. I am comparing this with the 4 and 5 star barns we stayed in which are hotel standard. Think should only be for 2 people. Like another reviewer said i found the owners manual on last day, needs to be visible.
