Lovely little cottage with plenty of space, new fittings and immaculately clean.

I just wouldn’t book with Sykes again as unfortunately we since realised the cost of was nearly triple the price than other booking sites!

Well, what a beautiful property.

It was quiet, cosy, warm, clean, beautifully presented and we couldn't fault it. Everything was excellent quality, and there was everything one needed to have a comfortable stay. The garden was lovely too, but unfortunately not enclosed. Thank you for letting us stay in the gorgeous cottage.

Lovely cottage, perfect for a weekend Christmas visit to see family.

Really comfortable beds, great range of boards games and puzzles, and thoughtful amenities (tea, coffee, milk and Betty’s biscuits!) The children loved the Christmas tree and chocolate decorations! Would highly recommend.

The cottage was lovely, very comfortable, had everything we needed for 3 nights.

The reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because as soon as we opened the front door there was a very unpleasant smell in the house. No idea what it was but it lingered the whole time we were there and as soon as we arrived back after our 2 days/evenings out it hit us again. Owner needs to look into this and get rid of it before future guests stay.

We stayed at the old chapel for three nights, when you walk in you instantly feel at home, it is very welcoming, clean and comfortable.

Very well equipped, had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. Ideal base if doing the Emmerdale tour. Very easy to find. Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely cottage.

It is a beautiful cottage. The kitchen is well equipped and with everything provided for a comfortable stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Laura. Any queries we had were dealt with quickly and efficiently. We would definitely recommend this cottage for a long or a short stay.

There was many little touches such as biscuits, tea, milk. So handy when you arrive. A very comfortable house with lovely furnishings and spotlessly clean. Really couldn’t fault it in any way.

The house was very wecoming, comfortable and clean. Equipped with everything you need.We would use this property again. It was in the perfect location for all the sights. We would recommend Asgarth falls, Himalayan garden and Brimham rocks and many more. There are lots of resivours to walk round. We liked Swinsty the best as it is only 3 miles and reasonably flat.

Smashing cottage, thank you comfy sofa, very comfy bed, great shower and decent telly, super refurbishment complete with immaculate little garden and easy dog walks with red kites flying overhead I didn't cook as we ate at the very handy pub just round the corner !

The house was very comfortable, clean and warm.

It was also equipped very well. The position in Pool was quiet but it is an excellent centre from where you can drive into the neighbouring countryside.

Maybe another comfy chair rather than the rocker. Communication from owner was excellent and the biscuits and coffee machine a lovely touch. Beautiful little sitting space with the view over the hills.

Comfortable, clean and a great location for exploring the area, The White Hart gastro pub just around the corner was excellent for something to eat or for a drink.

Nice place shame about the sharp practice and awful customer service with Sykes.

You can do better than ripping of people Lovely house, however BEWARE SYKES rental company who when I asked for an extension via Airbnb told me I had to use their site, after trying several times to reach by phone and messages in Airbnb, charged me an extortionate price and then declined the booking on Airbnb so we checked out, honestly and can’t get a refund of Sykes. Absolutely appalling customer service.

Loved the artwork. A local map in the holiday folder would be nice so dog owners can easily find local footpaths, walks etc..especially as the garden was not enclosed (which I knew) and frequent wee walks are needed.

Our second time staying in this cottage.

It is very clean and in a good location. We went to Harlow Carr, Scampston, Newby Hall and York Gate. Good for walks by the river and up towards Brancote. Thank you for the biscuits and milk - we left the empty milk bottle by the sink as its usually recycled separately back to the dairy to reuse. Hope that was OK! One tiny suggestion - a dishwasher would be a good addition though the kitchen might have to be reconfigured to accommodate one.

Really comfortable and warm holiday cottage - a home from home.

Great central location for getting out and about. Lovely garden and helpful owners. We would not hesitate to stay again if we are in the area.

This property is a superb place to stay.

The property is spotless and is maintained to a very high standard. The cottage is ideally situated for visiting lots of places in the area and in a quiet area of Pool. Laura is a great host and nothing was too much trouble when we discovered we had left some item behind. Will stay again at this property if we are over in this area again

A great base for us to visit family in leeds and explore the nearby countryside. Lots more to do so would love to return. Enjoyed day in Skipton and Otley for sunday lunch. Thank you, will definitely book again.

We were so pleased with our find.

The house is fully equipped, immaculate, has extra towels/bedding, beds are like clouds and we even had a Christmas tree and wreath put up for our stay! We felt just at home, thank you.

We had a lovely stay at The Old Chapel, despite the wet weather!

The cottage was really cosy and peaceful, even though it was close to a busy road through the village. The cottage was really clean, beds were comfortable, the shower was great. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped for holiday cooking. Merlin, our greyhound, enjoyed his stay - we had to keep him on a lead in the garden as it is not enclosed, but he enjoyed a run around at the dog field in the village (needs booking in advance, but quite a few slots were available). It is a great location for exploring the area and we enjoyed visits into Otley, Bolton Abbey, Fountains Abbey, Ilkley and a trip into Leeds. We will be back!

A lovely place to stay.

Kitchen is decent. Great shower and beds comfortable. The shop at the end of the road was most useful. Ideally suited to visit many places north of Leeds.

Delightful cottage, warm and cosy, very clean.

Very well equipped even down to books, games and puzzles for adults and children. Welcoming message appreciated along with biscuits, milk and a supply of tea, coffee and sugar. In excellent location for exploring but very quiet with excellent local shop round the corner. Highly recommended. We would love to return.

Fabulous stay in Pool.

The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Just a few minutes walk to to the local pub and 5 mins drive into Otley. Thank you for a lovely stay Laura. Highly recommended and will be back.

A superb cottage.

A lovely clean property situated in a friendly village.

The sports facilities with a social club only a few minutes walk is worth a visit. The property is comfortable with a small well kept garden which was a joy to sit in on sunny evenings.

Excellent shower and well placed for our dog to run by and in the river Wharfe. Excursions to Otley, Harrogate, and Fountains Abbey easily reached. Local shop had everything and Asda in Otley a short drive away. Would definitely recommend this property.

It was very clean, well presented and equipped. The village had a good pub/restaurant, a shop and a petrol station. Pool in Wharfedale is well positioned for visiting the towns of Harrogate, Skipton, Ilkley and Knaresborough as well as the many beauty spots within a short drive. The owner was very helpful when we had a problem with the door lock and quickly organised a lock Smith to fit a new lock. We would recommend this property and look forward to visiting again.

Another very comfortable stay in this property.

Always clean and tidy with a good central heating system- essential in winter. Lots of extras provided so no need to pack extra toilet paper, washing-up liquid, etc. I had a query which was answered quickly and efficiently and sorted out with no fuss. I also like the effort to reduce single-use plastics with refillable washing-up liquid and handwash bottles. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be booking another stay here.

The Old Chapel is a real home from home being spotlessly clean with good quality furniture and fittings an excellent shower and very comfortable beds.

We enjoyed our stay very much in this pleasant cottage which is located in a quiet area with good off the road parking and pleasant gardens yet is ideally placed for travelling to the Yorkshire Dales as well as Leeds and Bradford. Laura could not have been more helpful and we have booked to go again next year without hesitation - Joan and Keith

Beautiful cottage.

Spotlessly clean. Well equipped & thoughtfully presented. Comfy beds. Excellent shower. Thank you for the delicious biscuits & milk. A lovely gesture for the important first few cuppas. Lovely location. 30 minutes from Leeds where we did Christmas shopping. We visited Saltaire which is well worth a visit. It’s well preserved and really interesting with a beautiful park and The Boathouse Inn serves fab Sunday lunch & allows you to bring dogs in. We visited Ilkley too as it has a Betty’s Tearoom. Very recommended would love to stay again. Thank you.

An excellent stay as usual in a delightful, small cottage.

The gravel drive allows a good private parking space and the small pretty garden is just right for a morning coffee or evening drinks. The nearby well-provisioned shop is extremely useful. As we always say, another sidelight or floor light would be useful by the settee for reading purposes. We'll come again!

Nice comfortable cottage within easy walking distance of White Hart.

Regular buses (including evenings) into Otley for a wider range of amenities and restaurants - easier than driving and means both of us can drink. Easy access to Harrogate. More electric sockets in the lounge would be useful - we had to unplug the standard light in order to charge a laptop. Also a dishwasher would be welcome - there is space if you move the position of the large fridge/freezer to the other side. Dishwasher would be more useful than a washing machine. Really excellent property in a loverly village and area.

The cottage was ideal for our stay.

Very clean and comfortable. Local walks, pubs and shops suited our needs exactly. Whilst most will still have some limited concerns about transmission of Covid, the high standard of cleanliness at the cottage will be a significant factor in our booking again.

Lovely cottage well situated for visiting Harrogate and the surrounding areas, also handy for the universities.

Very clean and well kitted out with some thoughtful touches. Nice and quiet. Like many I feel a dishwasher would get that extra star, especially when there for a week and there is plenty of space for one. Also a tumble dryer would be helpful as nowhere really to hang washing. The blinds in the bedroom could be better, very bright from the crack of dawn but I had an eye mask! Pillows awful but bed very comfy. Local pub with good food an added bonus. All in all a lovely stay, highly recommended.

I cannot fault it in any way. Our stay was great in every way (perhaps not the weather). I would certainly recommend it.

Great house, practical, clean and exactly what we were looking for.

I would definitely recommend. The only negative worth noting is the frying pan needs replacing as it doesn’t connect with the heat properly. Other than that, GREAT!

Had a fabulous week at the cottage.

It was spotlessly clean and the milk and cookies were much appreciated. There’s a shop around the corner run by a friendly gentleman and excellent dog walking down by the river. The piste de resistance for us was seeing red kites every day.

The cottage was lovely, very comfortable, the electrical sub station in the front garden was unexpected, Pool was a good base for what we wanted to do, the local shop was very good but the pub The White Hart was a bit of a disappointment food wise, the real ale pub mentioned in the recommendations unfortunately is closed.

A suggestion for the sub station would be a Yorkshire Dales scene mural on the side facing the cottage would be a nice feature!

Well equipped and an easy drive to Leeds to visit our daughter - we may well come back again! Recommended.

We loved the cottage and its location.

It was squeaky clean throughout, One of the best features was the ability to park on its drive surrounded by its pleasant garden. Another bonus was the excellent corner, community shop which is literally one minute walk around the corner. Purely for the benefit of the owner we would point out the sticking bathroom door. We would also recommend an extra standard/floor lamp in the diagonally opposite corner of the room to the existing one for reading purposes. The coffee machines were state of the art but we would also recommend a cafetiere.

Having stayed in another cottage for 6 weeks prior to this (out of home due to building work) this felt spacious and homely right away.

The master bedroom is very large with good quality furniture. Our little girls loved the twin room, it lacks storage but the master had plenty so was fine for our family. The bathtub was lovely seemed much longer and deeper than a standard bath. Everything was very clean. The only thing we would have struggled with staying longer than a week and being a busy family was the lack of a dishwasher. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Milk and delicious Betty's biscuits on arrival!! Great location just 20 minutes back into Leeds where our daughter is at University, and also on the edge of the beautiful moors / dales. Great pub in the village too, we will definitely recommend and would stay again.

I stayed in it with my 2 grandchildren while my daughter moved house, within the district. We had no difficulties with operating the tv, heating etc. and the information provided was clear and helpful. Visitors from outwith the area would also find the suggestions for visiting and eating useful. Thank you for the welcome card and tasty shortbread!

Cottage was lovely, well equipped and quiet which was what we needed. Will be back as very convenient for visiting family in the area.

Lovely semi-detached property in a pretty Yorkshire village, well equipped with all the things you need when away plus quite a few extras compared to places we have stayed before, i.

e. plenty of toilet rolls provided, towels a generous size (if a little on the thin side), lots of books and games in the cupboard under the stairs if you are holidaying with a family, handwash for each sink, washing-up liquid and wash liquid also provided together with boutique tissues in the lounge. Chocolate biscuits and milk in the fridge was a nice touch. More than enough room for the two of us but possibly a little tight for a family with only a small lounge. Easily accessible private parking space at the front of the property and a secluded garden area for when the weather improves (it snowed when we were there!). Bedrooms a good size and only minimal noise from next door. Wifi worked well and we used our Netflix subscription on the television, which is a large size. Oven and washing machine both used and worked well. Only thing that would be an improvement would be the addition of a dishwasher in the kitchen - plenty of room and who wants to wash up by hand on holiday? All in all, a very pleasant stay and the icing on the cake -only 30 minutes from Leeds to visit family. We have booked to stay again in March!

The cleanest place we have ever stayed.

Lovely house in a very quiet location, very clean and well presented.

Ideal for dogs as, although the garden isn’t enclosed, there is a wonderful riverside field to walk in at the end of the road. Lots to do close by. We visited Bolton Abbey, Brimham Rocks, Chevin Forest, Fountains Abbey and the River Wharfe as well as Otley and Ilkley. What a beautiful area

Was kept clean and tidy on arrival. We were given good directions to find. Excellent location. Took 10 min to get to Harewood House and was excellent family day out - would highly recommend. Easy quick access to Leeds and Harrogate. Having small shop at end of road was handy for supplies (but closes early in evening). Laura was very helpful and sorted minor issues out for us quickly. We had lovely stay and would stay again.

The cottage provided everything I required , was warm and comfortable, and best of all as I live on my own , I could take my companion dog !
