Description
Ermysted's Cottage is a stone-built, terraced cottage positioned in a quiet backwater location within the ever-popular market town of Skipton. This Skipton cottage is full of character and retains much charm of a 'bygone age', making an ideal retreat for couples or small families. After a day of touring the North Dales, you can look forward to unwinding in the sitting room, tuning into your favourite TV shows whilst the fire provides a gentle warmth to the room. Continue into the well-designed contemporary kitchen, boasting a plethora of appliances including an electric oven and gas hob, along with all the utensils and crockery needed for a sumptuous family feast. Climb the staircase to the first floor and be greeted by two lovely bedrooms; the master bedroom includes a lavish king-size bed, whilst the second bedroom is home to a full sized single.
Here you will also find a sizable shower room with walk-in shower unit. Head out to the enclosed garden for a breath of fresh air, or pop on your walking boots and waterproof coats for a great outdoor adventure. Often known as ‘The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, it’s no surprise that Skipton has become a firm favourite amongst holidaymakers. Explore the medieval castle and its ancient woodland, take canal boat trips or relish in a day at the swimming pool, golf course or tennis courts. Skipton also has a network of walks including gentle rambles and challenging fell walks within close proximity of the town. The award-winning High Street is a short walk away and offers a great choice of restaurants, tea rooms, coffee shops and fish and chip shops, whilst the traditional market sells fresh produce throughout the year such as local cheeses, fish, meat and fresh vegetables. Not forgetting that the Yorkshire Dales is on your doorstep; discover the beautifully restored Embasy & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, Stepping Stones, and The Strid Ancient Woodland. Escape to the admirable Yorkshire countryside with a stay at Ermysted's Cottage.

Lovely well maintained accommodation.
Great location. Whilst it is difficult to park outside there is a long stay car park just a few minutes walk away which is very reasonable. Great location for the town centre and the lovely coffee shop right in front or the property is a great bonus.
Immaculate, modern and very well equipped cottage in an excellent location - both for walking into Skipton and days out in the picturesque Yorkshire countryside.
A very comfortable stay.
This was a pristine and well-decorated two-bedroom property that suited us well for three nights.
We travelled by train, and it was only a ten-minute walk from the station. It was also an easy five to ten-minute walk into town. The property is set back from the road, so it was quiet. My main issue is that the description should be amended to clearly state how extremely steep the stairs are. Guests with mobility concerns may find access to the first-floor bedroom and bathroom difficult. I had to use the rope to pull myself up the stairs, and I am able-bodied. If my friend had travelled with a knee injury, we would have had to find alternative accommodation.
